Cottage life in the Finnish forest: when it's dark, it's DARK! | Countryside vlog

  • This week I started putting up lights outside to maximize the cozy factor. We're in the darkest time of the year right now, although I don't mind the darkness. Funnily enough it was a lot more exhausting in the city. Here in the forest it feels like a little safespace. And the night sky this time of the year... boy oh boy! I was hoping to get you some footage of the stars but didn't get the timing quite right so maybe in the next vlog.
The rat is also still living it up in the stable. I don't want to harm it but letting it live there will sooner or later result in a real rat problem... So it might be time for traps...

Wow! You are a tough lady. First walking in a dark forest with the gleaming eyes and lights flickering and then with that fat rat running around you calmly say ” yeah, its a rat!” 😅.

Haha I am pretty comfortable with most things and beings in nature. Except for maybe wild boar and people, prefer not to run into those. 😂

I have an owl phobia so I would be VERY scared of walking in that darkness! Your dogs are so sweet!

Oh no, there's definitely quite a few owls here. Even spotted a great grey owl last winter. So far they've been very good at keeping their distance though. Would love for them to take care of my rat problem. 🙈
