The main purpose of this video is to show the music, but I guess some gameplay wouldn't hurt anyone(it would), so I left that in there.

Same for me, I use the neko project and all touhou games work fine except 4, it is extremely laggy and sometimes crashes my pc

Yes. It was made in 1998 for the game. There’s actually a remix by the original creator of the more mainstream one somewhere. He still makes games of this genre to this day.

Yes of course I have, I’m a fan. I have it on my switch after 10 years (don’t take that seriously.) I can kinda see where it comes from- but it doesn’t make sense. It’s a earthbound type game, the only big thing I see in common is a great sound track and fighting monsters, but you have to kill things in here if you don’t want more bullet hell then you’re already getting. Again, I just don’t really see it.

Nah you don't have to play in a specific order, most people start with touhou 6, since its the first game released for windows, and also the most famous one in the series. You can download it here: moriyashrine.org/files/file/13-touhou-6-koumakyou-the-embodiment-of-scarlet-devil/
The game in the video is touhou 4 though, which was released for the pc98 and is way harder to play since you need an emulator. I would suggest starting with 6 since you don't need any emulators or anything, but if you want to specifically play this one, I can give instructions and a link.
