Zoomers will never know what midnight launches were like. Nowdays everything is digital. I am so glad that even tho i was 9 years old my parents let me go with my brother and his friends to multiple launches like tbc, halo 3 and wotlk.

The funniest part about this is video is these poor souls thought the servers would be available when they got home... I remember the constant server crashes because it couldn't handle everyone going through the dark portal at once.
There were smartphones in 2007, I had a Nokia N95. Social media was not a huge thing though, still in its infancy and mostly accessed on a desktop. There was no doom scrolling and algorithms to fuck your mind up though. Good times.
I wonder how many of these people still play? I worked for Gamestop when it came out, so I got my copy the day before. Had it installed for 11pm the night before so I could play the second it went live. I loved the game, stuck with it until Shadowlands. Ended up deleting the account when all the shit going down at Blizzard was made public.
I was one of these people. Not at this particular store, but I would have been standing in line at a Gamestop in Texas somewhere. I quit playing seriously during MoP and never give it more than a few months when I do occasionally return every few years. It's always good for a bit of nostalgia, but it never holds my attention for very long anymore. Far cry from the days where I literally lived in the game world. I couldn't ever imagine a time where I wouldn't play that game, lol.
