    Thanks for the review. I just happened upon the premier randomly. I knew that I was going to buy this game eventually, but after your review, it seems like it's going to advance itself ahead of the rest of my backlog.

    Nayuta would be the perfect base setting, aesthetics, and combat/collectible for a Nihon Falcom based Ruin Factory analog.

    One issue I noticed while playing was in the making lunches menu. When you to go look for where materials can be collected, text over flows and even glitches. I can more or less tell where to get it but it is a slight bother since its very noticable... Also one of the bonuses is mislabled and that one is actually really bothersome because it confused me for a loooong time. Either way a great game and solid action game thats one of my favorites actually.

    Ys Seven was also a PSP exclusive but has a party system. The platform wasn't the reason for the no party decision. I think it was consciously designed. Nayuta doesn't need to have a party system, it holds up perfectly as is. IMHO.

    Been seeing a lot of good reviews for this and it looks great! I don't have a lot of time to play games nowadays, especially JRPGs (which are my favorite), so going with something a little smaller in scale like this is just what I've been looking for. I've already got my Playstation copy on order from Amazon and can't wait for it to ship.

    It's great that we're finally getting older titles that never got a chance in the west. The PSP was home to a lot of great games that are largely stuck on the handheld, it's great to see something like Nayuta break out of not just the confines of the handheld, but the language barrier aswell.

    nice review Alex! yes i've been waiting to play nayuta for a while as i heard a lot of good things about it over the years , and now i know why. i just started but im having a nice relaxing time already. it may be a spinoff but its still well worth it.

    I'm about midway through chapter 2, and somewhere along the way I stopped trying to figure out how this installment ties to the Trails titles, but then I realized: this isn't a Trails game, It's a legend of heroes game. After that, I started appreciating connecting tissues to trails, but this game makes me want to research prior titles to see how they ultimately got to the trails form of storytelling.
    Once I saw an article about how LOH games tend to reuse names and plot points I stopped trying to connect Nayuta to Towa. I just appreciated how her reverie accessories were basically Easter eggs, and not meant to try to connect

    I kinda forgot it was coming out this week and have to wait until the paycheck comes in, whoops 😅
    This game has been on my radar since the localization was confirmed by NISA. I'm still mystified by the idea that this is a simple spinoff and some deep lore link to the main Trails series, especially when everyone asked about it is so evasive about it. In a way it feels similar to how important Zero and Azure were to Reverie, though we don't know how yet. Otherwise, why pick up this spinoff and leave Ys vs Trails in the Sky to the Geofront group? 🤔
    Anyway, can't wait to play it for myself! 😁

  • @wood1066
    @wood1066 Год назад +3

    If this is like Brave Fencer Musashi then I'll definitely check it out. Although from what I hear from the Trails fanbase this games has nothing to do with the mainline Trails series other then using the same terminology for certain stuff.

    • @BacklogBattle
      @BacklogBattle  Год назад +2

      I personally wasn’t bothered by the lack of connection with the Trails games because it was a great game

    • @wood1066
      @wood1066 Год назад +2

      @BacklogBattle okay I was just wondering if that was actually true. I thought the white haired girl in this game was the same person on the front cover of Trails into Reverie. It's nice to know this is a completely standalone story.

    • @BacklogBattle
      @BacklogBattle  Год назад +1

      There’s been theories, but that’s all it is. And nothing really substantiates those theories in the mainline Trails stories

      @@Lando_85 Thanks for verifying it's playable on the PS5. I figured it was, but when I ordered my Playstation copy from Amazon over the weekend, nowhere could I find info stating it was PS5 compatible - not on Sony's store, not on NIS's website, nothing. I didn't see any reason it shouldn't be, but it is nice to have confirmation none the less. Now just waiting on Amazon to actually ship my copy.
