I built my 3 rotor fb rx7 back in 2004. I still have it. I’m just in the middle upgrading it. I think I was the first in Australia to put one in a fb. I know I’m the first person to fit a 20b in to a ford v6 GT capri. It was to dangerous to drive in so I sold the car and got the old rx7. I race it in street sprints, hill climb’s time attacks top gear series. I have have to over 330 klms on many occasions. It was making a 1000 rear wheel hp. Now with all the upgrades it should be closer to 2000 hp then a 1000. But that’s not what I’m trying to do. I want power from idle to 10,000 rpm. Where before It had a shit power band from 3500 to 8500 then it ran out of turbo. So I’m looking forward to racing it once it’s finished. Cain hard guys.
Been watching Australia for a while, u guys go nuts… the burnout cars and the stupid amount of older Rotary cars (rx3) over there 😂 The Utes and wagons like the hsv bruh…. States don’t get none of that, let alone one that’s built for burnouts lmfao
@@1xBossup if you guys want any holders or fords I can get anything you want. If you want a full car ready to run I can do that too. If you’s want old Mazdas. I can get them. R100 utes rx2/3/4’s anything you want. And the best part for you guys is the prices dirt cheap on your end. And I build cars too. From the ground up. That car is so clean. The owner did an excellent job. Ive only know of one other FB that was built as clean as this car.The P.R Guy in Brooklyn had a silver one it was called Topo. It was a high 8, low 9 second car. Totally street driven. The car in this video reminds me so much of that ToPo Rx7
I owned an 85 GSL-SE in that exact color, even the same grey interior. I should have never sold it. That's an amazing car brother, definitely a home run! felicidades from Cali.
My cousin has a pretty stout 13B FD. To mitigate damage from insanely long flames, he had a stock appearing rear bumper made from aluminum and then had it ceramic coated to match the paint. Complete with an enamel gloss finish to match the clear coat of the paint so it has an almost identical refractive index as the bodywork and paint itself. Its been about 5 years since that was done and you can just barely begin to see a difference in color tone in one small area above the tip of the exhaust outlet. Its not burned whatsoever only the enamel gloss is showing any signs of extreme heat from the massive fireballs. It will never " burn through" and really would never need totally replacing. Only to have the rear removed and re enameled. He's somewhat of a pyromaniac and the fireballs ARE the reason for the car itself. Also his father, my Uncle, owns and operates a British WW2 Spitfire fighter aircraft, with a Rolls Royce Merlin V12 engine. Which when it comes to fireballs, it tells the FD to get wrecked! Flew recently at the wings over Houston airshow among many others. Unfortunately he is planning on selling it to a restoration outfit that flies in the Reno NV air races. What a bummer dude. Being allowed in the hanger when its being worked on and spectators are gushing in their pants over it, damn y'all, its like your Dad picking you up from High School in a Koenigsegg or something like that. So so so badass and ill miss it. I heard a rumor from my Aunt that he's planning on buying a MIG 17 next which is a 2 seater Russian fighter jet. Very old and it was really the first modern fighter jet, and the very first to employ an afterburner and ejection seats. Well have to see. Until then a ride in the FD more than suffices.
I used to have a 79 Rx7. Drove it for few years. Till the engine broke. It still Looks like a newer designed car. Porsche 911 Slantnose looks exactly the same
So I live in Ft Smith Arkansas and I have just finished the first build of my 2005 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi turbo and it is great super rare haven't seen to many of them turbo built. So here's some pictures.
In 84/85, mazda made a 3 rotor race engine that used the 13b rotor housings called the 13G!! They are rare as hell and very pricy. 20k+ just for a core..
I still have the shell of my 85 rx7 gsl, I used the rear end in my 75 Fiat spider project and the transmission is the only thing in the car besides the whole interior, was planning on doing a rotary build for it but was just too expensive, I'm going to end up going with a aluminum V8 of some kind just need to find a decent donor car.
Nice but with that huge turbo it only has about 2000 rpm of powerband. Only making good power between 6,500-8500 rpm. If your planning on pump gas only. Better to match the turbo size for desired power maybe a gtx3576r would be much better and still support 700hp. Why stick a 1000hp turbo on it when you only plan to ever make 500hp. You only create tons of lag. And a very narrow powerband. Id rather have a gt3076r making 500hp with minimal lag and lots of fast response torque.
I forgot to mention if you keep the weight balance in these cars they handle incredibly despite the rear end being pretty twitchy, I may have gotten passed a lot on straights but never got passed thru a corner.
My 20b is a D133 so if you have an "E". Geez!! 😱 Love me a properly built 3 rotor on pump gas. Not all this exotic HP chasing with different fuels. Just something you can enjoy, pull up to a normal gas station, fill up and drive cross country if you want.
That thing sounds mental.. 20bs are sounds heaps beefier than a 13b.. That being said, Rotaries don't vibrate man. They are smooth af. This makes me miss my 13bt fc..
FB RX-7 was my first "cool" car ('85 GSL-SE). I did some stupid crazy impossible stuff in that car as a 17-19 year old and should probably be dead. I felt like Spy Hunter or something in that thing. Bought an identical one when I was in my 30's but it was NOT the same. Slow. Zero torque. I can't stand rotaries with exhaust work (loud/irritating) and porting makes them even worse. There are a dozen legitimate reasons to dog an RX-7 but there is something about them also. Yours looks gorgeous.
What an absolute unit. You cannot beat a 3-rotor turbo's ability to convert fuel in to massive power, sound and emotion. God cheated on the 2JZ when he made the 20B.
Nothing like a rotary engine. Music to my ears!
Nightmare to your bank account
3 cylinder motorcycle comes close. For instance: /watch?v=J1NC-N9pkCM
@@TheGreener121 😂 true but with great pleasure
@@TheGreener121 Maybe if you aren't rebuilding it yourself
@@TheGreener121Also, it is convenient to replace the rear seats with a fuel tank, and maybe you can drive 100 miles, between refills.

that flame was crazy car sounds amazing i love that the interior is stock
TRC never disappoints!!!
Definitely the cleanest most respectable 80'S RX7 out there. Respect!!
I did what I could with my fb, but this is just insane. The build quality is superb. Nice job.

I had a dookie brown one too. Didn’t know what I really had until after I sold it .
Ole skool power, Most people have no clue how potent a 3 rotor engine was/is
The best shape to ever exist on this planet. They just look amazing with the stock body
They’re shaped like one side of a rotor.
I Still have my 85, Rx7, that i Bought, for $3,500. in 95, this was and still is my dream car..😊
3 rotors are and always will be the best rotaries imo
My Dad used to have a 79 rx7 I loved that car , he raced lots of people in it!
What an amazing sound! It’s so smooth yet so rowdy 🤘🔥
Flipping heck! When he said this is a 39 year old car!
He's right! It is.
Haha I'm getting old !!
He didn’t have to say it out loud 😣😂
Oh my God the noise 😍😍😍
I love the the sound and to feel that adrenaline im so proud of you son. DTB . I love it. El Chulo por 100pre.. TRC Approved thats for sure. 💙🙏🔥

Great video, dorito lover here, I have had 4rx-7s and one rx-8 fell in love with them fun cars!
3 rotor is so smooth and so much power. Sick rx7🤙
Wow Chulo RX7 to the heart. The car is amazing and so is the driver. God Bless you always .🙏🔥💙🩵
Hell yeah about time a first gen RX7! Love this!
This thing is sick! Absolutely love it!!
Instead of saying that man is the creature of circumstance, it would be nearer the mark to say that man is the architect of circumstance.
Ive had a couple fbs. Bro. This is sweet. Please put a half cage in it. Mine was terrifying at 450.
Iv been in a couple of old rx7s and they are nuts at that power due to the weight so at 650 this thing would just have no traction at all hahaha
I used to have a 79 Rx7. Drove it for few years. Till the engine broke. It still Looks like a newer designed car. Porsche 911 Slantnose looks exactly the same
I laughed at this at first but after watching I kinda see that.
Yup and the FC is a 944😂
one of the better car review videos this guys really cool
Best sounding engine ever 3 rotors and up no piston engine not even F1 can sound as good.
My God. Inspiration for my car. Dunno if I'll get it to that point but man I want a 20b fb.
probably one of the best cars reviewed
My neighbor has 3 sitting in the yard for 20 years, and a 2nd gen in colorado rust free, and I'm sure he will sell
greatest sounding engine ever

wilber is the best rotary tuner out there !
When I first built my rx7 I wanted to 3 rotor swap so bad. Back then 3 rotors were like 5k now they go for 12-15k and still need a rebuild.

I actually cried getting rid of my '82 GSL. So did the lil old lady I bought it from. What a stock rally and drag car! 😢
Unknown fact about those RX-7 stock transmission very known to blow through 3rd gear straight through it into the dashboard! 😅😅😅😅

the three rotor
