Thomas The next Walt I’m on Long Island about an hour from NYC. Our governor is horrible and so is most of the state gov’t. Everything is way too expensive even though it isn’t any higher quality than other places. NYC is also being slowly ruined. The only nice places are upstate but there is also barely anything there. (Besides Rochester and Buffalo which are the only nice cities in my opinion)

A few things to note. 1). There's a difference between "visiting" somewhere and "living" somewhere. 2). A place that looks good on paper is not the same on how it realistically pertains to you. 3). Newtons law- For every action there is an equal reaction. The things you love about a state comes as a sacrifice somewhere. Does the end justify the means?

Hi Nana
I find lots of fun in Nebraska, when I find the time! I work in a flour mill in Omaha. We get our wheat from neighboring states by truck and by rail! Fun to me is reading books and model railroading! I watch the weather too! Housing costs are becoming an issue in Omaha! Oh, I also study the evolution of power and gas utilities! I love our public power districts! We might be mostly conservative, but we look out for one another! Not a BIG football fan. My brother roots for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Was not surprised to see so many Midwestern states listed. I've lived in several of them and two of the things they've had in common were really friendly, down to earth people and good educational systems.
I stopped watching when you mentioned NY.

New York is not a good place to live.....

Agree with that in every way. There are some pretty depressed towns in the rural parts of WA that never recovered from the recession, and Seattle is too crowded. Still, much of the state is nice, taxes are reasonable, schools are okay, and it's super scenic.

I swear I’ve looked into any state worth looking into and also New Mexico, and Maine had to have most “be an early applicant” opportunities for jobs I just picture it being all old people with all younger people leaving for other states…. It is tempting because of its beauty but man that state could get rough if people don’t wanna move there for opportunity….

@@monstersofthemidw100You have clearly never been to Maine if you think it's boring or you have only been to Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, Bangor or Waterville. Very American! People fail to realize that the American consumer driven economy is what is at the heart of much of the issue here not to mention an infantile mentality on the part of the public and public officials of the roles and responsibilities of each.
This was interesting great channel.
Hey Jeanie!
Hello Nick Johnson I appreciate your videos that you make every day. And I'm glad you're showing us the places here in America. Can you also show us the best resources in America please? I know Minnesota is one of them plus I live there and I was raised there. May've not been the lucky ones playing the Monopoly game. Meaning playing the business game (Economy), I don't make tons of money, basically I'm somewhat broke. Heck I'm not independent yet. All my life especially teenage yrs I had to take responsibility like I'm a father. And still to this day I'm like a father that's being depend on. It isn't easy being a Son of an immigrant. What do we do at a time like this?
Resources as in?
@@NickJohnson Um like resources to find a home or maybe a job. Or a resource that helps people get on their feet. If they're struggling. You can probably talk about the best and worst resources to find in the United States! I mean if you want.

And trust me, I've been in Idaho for 27 years, and I still question Why the heck we are Republican.
Oh, I happened to be a real estate agent, too. I loved your call to action that was adorable.
There's "Pride in work in Minnesota, except North Minneapolis." Lol!
I live in New Mexico and I’m not surprised it ranked worst. There’s so much corruption with our political system, a lot of crime, drug issues, and so much more. Hopefully it’ll get better in the future but for now, I’m planning on moving away for better opportunities 😁
New Mexico has a lot of character & texture, I miss it. I live in NC now, I was expecting people to be more interesting and carefree like they can be in NM, sadly, there is a lot of “safe” behavior here.
I'm with you on that. I'm looking to move out of NM. I love this state, But i've been here my whole life. It's time to leave
I miss NM so much. Would move back in a heartbeat. Yes the government is corrupt, but that’s literally everywhere these days. There is a lot of crime in some spots (especially Albuquerque), but your risk is low as long as you take precautions and don’t associate with the drug-using / gang-affiliated crowd.
On the positive side: the weather, food, culture, outdoors are all beautiful and vibrant. People are kind, accepting, and unpretentious. NM has some of the best hiking and skiing in the world, and it’s a short trip to Mexico and all that it offers.
But I get it if it just isn’t for you. No place is perfect, and I wish you all the best on your journey!

Hi Nick Johnson🙋 I have been watching your videos and helping people being informed on what states or what counties or what places they should or shouldn't live in I think it's so awesome to be doing this it's kind of videos they might be able to help people be happy and comfortable in a new home a different place to live! That's all totally awesome of you to be doing this! I am actually going to comment under Washington State video because I've lived here since I was three I am now 68 and I watched it turned terribly terribly wrong so fast probably starting 35-40 years ago that is unbelievable it used to be the most awesome place in the world as far as I was concerned and boom it went from being this beautiful awesome place to live in to a corrupt, money hungry piece of crap state. You don't want to live here trust me, as beautiful as Washington state is and it is extremely beautiful and there are lots of things to do but unless you're extremely well off you're not going to do any of them, you can't afford to do any of those fun things anyway unless you're rich they don't want you there unless you're rich you're not good enough to be there unless you're rich and jobs you're not going to make anything to support a family here unless you've already have a lot of money when you get here or a good job already set up! Otherwise you're going to be a labor making minimum wage person and you're not going to be able to find housing if you find housing you're going to be they're very long at all because you won't be able to make your monthly payments and immediately will be evicted and out on the street with your family, and I am not exaggerating at all!! Nothing is regulated here for the owners of the landlords you could be paying $1,700 a month one day and when they they want to raise your rent they raise it all right and they don't have to stop they can raise it as much as they want and that's your tough s*** you can't pay it boom can't pay you out on the street the same with the employers they could do anything they want with their employees they don't have to play by the rules anymore they took them all away it's all for the people with money and corporate so if you don't work you can't pay your rent can't pay your rent you're on the street there's the homeless fix right there they never go to why there's all these poor families homeless they're never going to go to why they're on the street and they never start at the beginning, they never addressed the issue as to why and it's very obvious and very employers and landlords stop them from doing anything they want all the time stop them from making them homeless regulate it put a stop line there they don't now how in the hell you going to keep anybody at home how in the hell you going to do that when you left the employers do whatever they want so there is no job for him well they can't pay on their home anyway then can they so of course around the street see if they fix these problems there wouldn't be an issue to address at least not to this degree not once have they ever done that and then it' obviously just gets worse! So, unless you're full of money, and love corruption and love to see hard-working people with families being thrown out on the street just because the owners, landlords and employers can, do not move here! I think that you are very entertaining, and I think you're excellent what you do and I wish you could help me and the funny thing about that is when I started watching these videos that's what I was doing it for because I didn't know how much longer I can stand it in Washington I was trying to have somebody help me or point the way to get me out of here when I found you so if you can help me that'd be awesome I don't even need to move completely out of the state, just completely out of where I'm at now which is near Seattle and in King county, and it is in Federal Way Washington next to Kent heading north!! Anyway keep up the good work you're awesome I love the videos I'll keep watching and you never know maybe someday you will contact me I live in a barn with just horses, my favorite, so I would love to wake up and hear all the farm animals and not the people animals I'm totally a country living person not even close to one being a city! Animals are so much better than people are much and much more fun to hang out with and way Nicer!! right?!!! Thanks Nick👍👏

Just to let you know, Wisconsin uses a different scale for lakes than Minnesota, if we used their scale we would have 16000 lakes. Just thought I’d let you know! Have a great day!
Toastedflare • actually we’re not lol he said that not us. We’re cooler with or without the most lakes. Lol
I am in Cortez, Colorado and its awesome
Awesome
Vermont sounds like my kind of place. Seems like they really like the outdoors. I also met really good quality people from there when I was in the Army.
Vermont is great if you like living under snow banks for half the year and not having services within walking distance. It is certainly a great state to "get away from it all" because almost nobody lives there.
Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont should just be one state.
@GrayJacketWasp - I think a good way to apportion state borders would be to evaluate population. Republicans like to talk about carving up California, but say nothing about Texas, preferring to drastically gerrymander that state in order to overrepresent the Republican presence.
It makes more sense to review the states where the population is below 2% of the national total and combine them regionally. One of the biggest problems in the early history of the U.S. was the internal complexity and conflicts that existed between the philosophies of thirteen different states.
With about four times that amount now, I think the increase in the level of discontent has increased by much more than four times.
Due to intangible nonsense, like "state pride", I doubt that many Americans would agree with my radical opinion in this area. But let's be serious, people. Have you ever been to Alabama and Mississippi? Would you consider that an appropriate adjective for either of those places would be the word, "Great"?
@GrayJacketWasp I think we have the basis for starting an entirely different video that could be titled something like, "States That Do Not Deserve To Be Separate".
For example, why are their TWO Dakotas? Almost nobody lives in either one of them. And Wyoming is home to more cattle than humans.
@GrayJacketWasp - Alaska could become part of the state of Washington. With such a low gene pool to draw from, they tend to elect insane/corrupt/inept politicians. The more recent ones that come to mind are Don "Bridges to Nowhere" Young, Ted "Internet Tubes" Stevens, and, of course, Sarah "Word Salad" Palin.
My brother took a job and moved from Minneapolis-St. Paul area to Des Moines suburb. The cost of living in and around the Twin Cities is getting crazy.
I have lived in CA all my life and watched and subscribed to your channel. I would love to speak with you about the best place to move with my family of 5 + mother in law..
Please send me a way to contact you.
