- During his end of season press conference, Mike Tomlin made it known that he is seeking a new Offensive Coordinator that would come from outside the Steelers organization. Over the course of 6 seasons, the Steelers Offensive Coordinator has been the team's previous QB Coach. As we know, Randy Fichtner and Matt Canada weren't good options as Steelers Offensive Coordinator. After much trial and error, Mike Tomlin appears to finally acknowledge that it is time to look at outside candidates, rather than promoting from within. We discuss several outside candidates on who the Steelers could interview to potentially be the next Steelers Offensive Coordinator. Eric Bieniemy did coach all 3 NFL's MVP players Adrian Peterson 2012 in Minnesota as Running Backs coach he won 2 super bowl rings with Patrick MaHomes and got him 2 NFL's MVP's in Kansas City as the OC so bring him for interview
I really want tomlin to look into the organization of the Rams, Dolphins, and 49ers for the OC job. Those teams are leagues ahead schematically of any other team and they all have strong coaching trees. Bringing their modern nfl playcalling and schemes to Pittsburgh with the talented players we have on offense in Pickens, Diontae, Friermuth, Najee, and Warren the talent is there.

Shane Waldron from the Seahawks would be a great offense coordinator he already coached with the la rams. Been a Seahawks fan for almost 40 years now he’s a damn good coach.

I don't think that Tomlin should have influence on who the new OC should be. Omar Khan and Andy should make the decision. Tomlin's job is just to motivate and coach practices. No offense, but ive watched every game. Tomlin doesn't even talk during the entire game. He doesn't make in game adjustments like Reid does... He just is a spectator...

As a Chicago Bears fan who wasn't born until early-1989 & missed out on the 1985-1986 Chicago Bears, but, knew of "Riverboat Ron"/"Chico" because of his various coaching & coordinator positions that he's held in the past in the NFL, I wish him all the best in whatever future NFL coaching staff position he winds up getting in the 2024-2025 NFL season--if any, that is..
What are the real OC differences, the actual scheme differences, between say one or two of your candidates offense and what had been called under say back to even Randy F and then what in our offense was playing/was doing towards the end of this season?
I think they should also bring in a qb coach. Steelers have the least amount of coaches in the NFL. I would try and get mark Whipple. He turned kenny into the qb at pitt. Give Kenny familiarity with someone he's comfortable with. What do you guys think? I also like Waldron, Kubiak and bevell in no particular order. I'm still not sold on EB

We need a real smartest intelligent legitimate of an offensive coordinator who will make Steelers better putting points on the board week in and week out no matter if we win or lose one way or another we will find the right guy somebody from either the college level who won national championships in every University's or someone else from experience so let's find out

I've never been a fire Tomlin guy but I'm in the mind now that I just really want a new coach. As u said it will be the same song and dance next year . See how we're now saying Tomlin is getting benefit of the doubt because he mentioned going outside to get an OC!? He's scapegoated OC's over the years to keep his job. Tomlin is never gunna win another playoff game and I'm convinced.. Tj Watt and minkah Fitzpatrick haven't won a playoff game in their career and that's jus sad!

I expect them to hire someone outside but I bet it won't be a person that can actually change this franchise! I feel like the Rooney's have lost their way. Very similar to the MCU or Disney. Are they keeping Tomlin because they have the political belief system ? Their kumbaya ,peace and love relationship seems more important than the greater good of the team and the opinion of the fans.

In house hiring was not Tomlin's fault you guys haven't figured it out yet, my opinion is that Tomlin is not given enough $ to get quality and proven nfl coaches pretty much the same with most players that is why free agents are not coming to the Steelers and replace the dc and all the coaches and assistant coaches with experience nfl coaches

How many SF jerseys were in the stands in game this season? Extend his contract and you’ll see this trend grow, opposing team jerseys in the stands. Fans don’t need to watch the same show over and over again. It makes no difference who the OC is, who the DC is, Tomlin is beyond stale.
