I made an UP house in this exact spot a week ago -- never saw this video until today! I wish I had watched this earlier....would have saved me a lot of headaches!!
I have actually done a complete tutorial of how to build the Up House as well lol

LOL That's pretty crazy building a house in the air like that. I like the idea as it keeps the baddies away, but also your friends, so not good about that.
It's based on the house in the movie Up. Most of my friends have jet packs

The alien catwalk from the alien event also worked; I tried. It is dark metallic in color and looked more futuristic. It was not a reward from the alien event itself, but from the atom stop while the alien event was going on. So, hope for the event to come back (already happened twice), and hope the atom shop has it again.
Yes all catwalks work. I have those catwalks as well but this video predates the event lol

Catwalks are amazing tools. I use them to offset foundations half a block away, and I used to make a floating camp as well (round U.F.O) with a stair that goes all the way to the ground from the hole in the middle but without any foundation beneath it.
Funny thing is that the Catwalk is horrible to use in the way that they are supposed to be used.

Great vid and your Up house is adorable! I haven't tested the pillars with those stairs yet but they changed the snapping with them. The stairs snap to each other now so that you can stack them without the use of the pillar. So while the pillars snap to the stairs, the stairs don't necessarily snap to the pillars.
It's been my practice to avoid those stairs because of their restrictive nature while building, but now you can actually put things under them! Amazing. Now if only we could get some different flooring variations for them. Anyway, maybe I'll be lucky enough to see your Up house in game. Here's hoping. 😁
Thanks that's useful to know. I'll probably be taking it down to rebuild it for a video. Tbh now the new season is on, I am mostly playing on my main character.

I made a fire pit merge with the black vintage stove ! Looks cute with coals or rocks warming at the bottom -I also got it to merge with the stove with the pipes. Thought i would share with you

Does floating the stairs with the catwalk still work? thinking of getting the catwalks for this but i don’t have a lot of atoms so i want to make sure. Nice vid btw 👍🏼

Where do I get the platforms that you delete to float items? Do you have buy one of the shelter rooms?
The cat walks were a separate item in the atom store, you don't need to buy a shelter to get them, although I'm not sure if they are still available
It's worth mentioning that some items don't appear in the shop but can appear in your build menu as locked and if you click on them it will let you buy it. The catwalks are under miscellaneous, so check that out.

Well I copied the colours from the Up House from the film Up... Don't really get the wizard of oz connection lol
