My collection includes hundreds of high end watches and my favorite model is the 34. I have a 7.5 wrist and I am a tall man.
I think the 34mm looks great on you, though 36mm will also go great. The pink also goes nicely with your complexion, and would be a nice watch to photograph. There are a lot of older watch collectors out there with 7 in wrist who wear 34mm.
Very nice and clean watch. Love it. I think the other watches are way too busy and bulk. This is a definitely great choice.
You've got the same wrist size as me. I owned a 34 Air King and could never shake off the feeling that it's perhaps a bit too small, but really enjoyed my time with the watch all the same. I'd probably buy another, but with a date this time around.
Korean RUclipsr and model Jiyoung Dorner rocks this watch in many of her videos and vlogs. Beautiful watch.
I get the feeling most people consider the Datejust the quintessential Rolex model.
Sub
Fully agree with this along with the Submariner.
Personally I think the OP is, because you can trace basically every modern Rolex back to the OP. The DJ is a variation of the OP with a complication.
I think some of it depends when you were born and what has been popular during your lifetime though, for a lot of people it will be the Sub, for people who were a certain age in the 80's it'll be datejusts and day dates with fluted bezels...etc
This and the sub. I think I'd rather have the op though. Sub doesn't do it for me.
My 34 op that got stolen was my favorite watch. Didn’t make sense but something about a top tier brand for a understated simple piece
Very nice watch. I love the pink burst in certain lights. I too prefer smaller time pieces as my wrist is also 6 1/2 inches in diameter. The Perpetual can be used as a formal or a dress watch, depending on the situation. Again great video and review.
Kind regards Rikki.
Thanks so much for your support! 34mm is a great size. Also love 36!
Normalize 34mm on bigger wrists. I have a 7.5” wrist and loved my vintage 34mm. Watch industry just upselling the bigger sizes.
So true! No reason a watch should be over 40mm IMO lol
How about on a 6.5inch what mm would you recommend
I have a 34mm Oyster P and i have a 6.75 wrist. It’s such a classy watch. It’s not screaming on my wrist but you can see it’s a beautiful watch! I love it!
Small watches are traditional and classy. Big watches are great but they can be cartoonish and a little goofy. I tend to prefer the big watches for casual shorts and T shirt wear. But I feel small watches are a little more versatile for outfits
I have to say that looks quite nice dimensionally on your wrist. Very elegant and understated.
Thank you! If it were in black or blue I may as well just have kept it…
Nice dial color. I wonder how 34 mm would like on me might be too small but looks beautiful so simple yet elegant love it
Nice size, nice design, ni e looking for your wrist. I also have a Op 34 mm and I love it. Congrats
Agreee. I have a 36mm OP in blue Explorer dial and it’s perfect and so comfortable. My wrist is 6 1/2”. I also have a Submariner 16610 40mm and GMT Master II 16710 40 and they also wear well. I do not wear my blue 39MM OP because somehow it just looks too big and overwhelming for my forearms. Weird but true. It almost wears like a 41 which is strange.
Long story short, get a 36mm OP in your favorite color or a neo-vintage Rolex 40.
Bonus: I also have a 36 OP Date with the stunningly and rare purplish applied Arabic numerals and that one wears smaller than my 36 OP. The cyclops combined with the polished lugs makes it almost look like a 34. Again weird but true, but fortunately I’ve had the luxury of comparing them all repetitively at work, home and while enjoying some wine lol.
I have 20cm wrist amd I have my OP 35 mm. So it looks perfectly good and not too small. I love it
I just got the call for this before Christmas(2021) 34mm black dial. I have 5.75" wrist, so the watch fits me perfectly. For something I started off and trying to climb the Rolex's ladder, this one is a good choice(for me) IF one can wait. the waiting time for me was about 6weeks.
Congrats on your amazing pickup! It’s a perfect all arounder piece
I currently have a 36mm 114270 Rolex Explorer and was wondering if the OP34 wears almost the same to it? I only have a 6 inch wrist or like 15 cm in circumference.
I love my 34 date. So easy to wear and get compliments all the time. I love it
Please tell me what's the color of the dial ?
This is my timepiece (specifically a D reg 15203 built in around 2005-06 that I inherited it off my late father) - Initially had mixed feelings about a 34 (Ive always worn 45's incl the Garmin Aviator watches and Breitling Seawolf) .. but I have to admit that after 3 years of owning it my 15203 has since been growing on me and I wear my Date as a daily, both casually and with formal wear incl at work. This model represents Rolex' soul and true vintage. . And as another commentator said, wearing 34's should be normalized.
What is the wear on that bezel and band? I want to buy the OP but worry about scratches and such because I am hard on watches.
great video,
Sir, is this clasp safe? I mean it doesn't have a safety lock
I agree on this video at 💯%!
I was first drawn to the OP36 but the dial on the 34 is better IMO, there are no double indices anywhere. But I don't know about the size, I normally wear a SEIKO 300m He-Tuna, which is 47.7mm. The lug-to-lug (center) is only 42mm however, so it "wears" about as big as the OP36. Never mind the fact that the price of the ROLEX is ridiculously high... Love the pink but I think the silver dial is the way to go.
Have you tried the discontinued 39mm OP? That one has the same dial configuration as the op34
34 to 36mm, perfect size range for a man. Wrist 7" here.
Thanks for this i was going to sell mine till i watched this video i have a blue 114200 369 dial
Simple and beautiful. That would look great on men with smaller wrists and women. I have a 7.5inch wrist so I don't like how tiny these watches look on my wrist
Are you sure it’s a 2020. I got mine in 2016 during my transit through London
i have a 34 mm Rolex OP date 15053 in 2 tone. it don't looks too small on my 6 and 3/4 inch or 17cm wrists since the lug to lug is about 42mm long . also. 36mm and 34mm PRACTICALLY dont look too much different on the wrist from a distance (both are similar from a distance) and not quite discernable. so it might be wise to get a 2 tone 34mm OP date at roughly same price than a plain jane Steel Rolex 36 datejust
I’ve just ordered a brand new 15223 OP Date dual tone. Im so glad to read that your Rolex fits perfect as we both have 17cm wrists. Thank you for the info
It’s interesting that OP 34 wears more like 36 mm
36 mm wears like 38 mm
And 39 (aka 41) wears more like 41 mm. So only 41 mm wears as advertised. I personally went with 36 mm
It's like the wine called 'Rosé'. At least sounds better, than 'pink'. 😀 34mm case size is just would perfect for my thinner, 16cm wrist.
I hate date and other complications on wristwatches. A day-date watch for me is like putting two pockets on a fine, elegant slimfit shirt. Outdoor shirts (the red-n-black checkered timber shirts😂) have pockets is fine, just like a Casio G-Shock having plenty of useful features. But a nice and elegant watch must be down to the barebone basics, IMHO. And that's I love the basic OP.
6:39 Man, I whish they would still make this full Arabic numerals dial in modern form. Those hands would be a bit more thick, they could have lume, would make a great modern watch face.
thanks for the video man! ive actually been interested in this watch for a while but what deterred me is that ive seen a few posts stating that the actual size is about 32-32.5 mm rather than 34, which is tiny! would you be able to confirm this ? keep up the good work
Actual size is probably 38mm as in it wears like a 38mm
@@rogerdracks1880 you measured 38 ? It's a 34 watch :)?
@@joellyraine it wears as such.
Put a 36mm datejust next to a 40mm Patek nautilus and you will see they are the same size
What does the bracelet taper down to at the clasp, 16mm?
I believe 15mm
Just got this watch a few months ago. I like it, however two things annoy me about it. The dial size is (26mm) it’s too small for the 34 case size. This makes the watch look much smaller than it actually is. The other thing is the clasp. The clasp is a bit long for this watch and it’s just out of proportion. I was really shocked to know that Rolex uses the exact same clasp length for case size 41 and 34 !
I'm buying a 34mm pink dial. Same watch. Getting it for 7k flat no taxes. Brand new with box papers & appraisal.
Congrats! That is a solid deal on an amazing piece.
@@watchyourstyle thanks its my first one I'm only 23. My daughter is only 1 but imma pass it on when she is old enough.
Hi, what is the cat in front of you ? 😂
NIce watch! Did you end up getting another OP?
Thank you! And yes I did! I got the white op36 :)
I agree with your video. Also as a hack, wear a watch then look in the mirror and see how it look on your wrist. You can quickly tell if its the right size for you. Because upclose it look perfect on your wrist. Far away it look a lil small. 6:59 it shows how small and feminine that look on your wrist.
6.5 inch wrist isn't big, 34mm is OK. But 36mm is also good. I'm 6.25 wrist with a 34mm
I have a 7.25 inch wrist I think. I want a rolex but refuse to pay stupendous grey Market prices. Contemplating a 34mm op because not only am I comfortable with my masculinity but also feel like it'd be easier to attain from an authorised retailer
I have small wrists, 6 inches in circumference. I'm torn between the 34mm and the 36mm
Same i have a 6.5inch im not sure between a 31 or 34mm any opinion
@@lud6441 6.5in should just go for 36mm if u are man. 34mm if you are female
I would love to see it on a woman for reference!
No watch is too small if worn with a leather strap.
34mm Rolex OP/OP dates had always been the smallest MAN size , not A lady's watch . although now many watch channels and you tubers are calling it a Ladies watch or Unisex watch. the Classic Unisex size or BOY size has always been 31MM Rolex OPs or OP datejust.
The lady clerk at the AD told me the same thing that 31 mm used to be the boys’ size or the classical unisex size, so it won’t be awkward if I (male with a thin wrist of 5.9”) wore it. And with her words in my mind, I’m trying to find an OP34 or an OP31.
A este pana se le mojó la canoa.
Even the 36mm is a shade too small for me, the 34mm is like I’m wearing my wife’s jewellery 😂
Dude I'm size 8 but a 34 mm op wouldn't bother me. Oftentimes i would wear a 49 mm Suunto core and still doesn't bother me. Just wear and enjoy your timepiece and to hell with those beta males whining about sizes duhh.
Way too loose on your wrist.
Ghay
You have to do better than is it to small.
All these video sights are just parroting the same thing. It’s gotten so old. At least for someone that had been wearing a Rolex for 55yrs.
34mm is too small. Its a large lady size.
Too small..
Isn't this for girls
nice watch. way too much make up bro.
