I just purchased a 34 MM Air King today. No need to have flying saucers on the wrist

34mm is about perfect for a man's watch. During the pandemic stuck at home I wore little 34mm Swatches and an F91W pretty much exclusively and I got used to the smaller watches.
So much so that after the pandemic I had my vintage Omega DeVille serviced so I could wear a small nice looking watch and recently I got a 35mm Tissot PRX so I could have another small watch option.
I really do hope that under 36mm starts to become the norm for men's watches, or that at least we get more watches that size as options. I can't believe I regularly wore 42 and 44mm watches! They feel like wall clocks now.

A 34 is pure class. I love my OP Date.

The best sleeper is the 6694 manual wind...especially for collectors. Slimmer case, smaller hour markers, uncluttered dial & date with cyclops. The proportions are perfect & they wear feather light.

As a serious collector, I can say that 34 mm never left to be back and I have a big wrist. Now you have all those guys with boy size wrists wearing huge watches, not sure what they're trying to make up for 😊. Classy is anywhere from 34 to 37, in my hunble opinion.

Love the 34mm size for my wrists. I own a vintage Tudor prince oyster date and a Tudor royal, both 34mm and they look right at home.

You can also to talk about Rolex 15200. Not only focus on diameter, lug to lug is also very important. Rolex 5500 and 15200 lug to lug as long as so many 36mm watches!😉

    • @psjsushi321
      @psjsushi321 3 месяца назад +1

Yes!!! lug to lug length I’m learning is just as important of a factor on wrist as the diameter sometimes more so like the point you made about the 15200 it can be same on the other spectrum with a watch with a larger case diameter and shorter lugs on the ends kinda opens the options up a lil more

I got an Oyster Precision hand-wound ref. 6426, with the same dial and hands configuration as the Air-king you’re talking about. Same 34 mm but even slimmer as it’s got no rotor.
To me and my 6.75” wrist, it wears incredibly well and comfortable. It doesn’t look small by any means, and the oyster bracelet is gorgeous.
It’s my first and so far only Rolex, I really like it. I love the winding ritual.

Honestly I think that the 14000 is way better since it has the more modern movement which is the Cal. 3000 or the Cal. 3130 in the 14000m, I know this may not be true vintage but neo-vintage.

About two years ago I decided to buy my first Rolex, and went to my local authorized dealer and told the sales person what I was looking for, which at the time was a 40mm Explorer. He asked me if I had considered a 36 or 34 mm Oyster Perpetual, based on the fact that I’m an average sized, slender guy. My reply was that I’m not interested in a ladies watch. He didn’t have any 40mm Explorers or 34 or 36mm OPs in stock at the time, however, he showed me a Hamilton, Jazzmaster 34 mm, and let me try it on. It was crazy how great it looked on my wrist, which kind of baffled me because, again, at 34 mm I thought it would be too small. I actually bought the Jazzmaster that day, to wear for a while as I was considering that size. About a week later I decided that 34 mm was perfect, and called him back and told him that I wanted to be put on the list for 34 mm OP. Four months later, one came in and I’ve been wearing it ever since, and it’s been over a year now. I wear this OP 34m for all activities from the office to the field, to the campsite and the pool. I only take it off to shower and sleep. It’s perfect.

Just bought a Hamilton 34mm jazzmaster auto in petrol blue; the case is not feminine.
    Already this year, I got a CW63 36mm .
Years ago, I wore a Citizen 34mm; then, when I began getting into watches, a huge Casio G 50mm. So I'm reverting back to type.
I think the Air King was made to commenarate the RAF in WW2?

i purchase a 34mm 15053 rolex date with half gold case and bracelet..... it looks almost identical to any 36mm from 2 or 3 metres away , just a bit smaller . the key is LUG to LUG which is 42mm.... that is the key reason why those rolex OP date/34mm looks great on hands with under 7inch wrists. my wrist is 17cm or 6 and 3/4 inches.
