beautiful Patti, I love these, so girly. I think I have about 20 to 30 of these wooden hangers, I always pick them up at the thrift stores when I see them, really cheap and sturdy.
I'll have to add this to my list.
thank you for sharing this with us

Hi Loretta, (it sure feels like we are in Florida today, the temps are up near a hundred with the heat index even higher and humidity is really oppressive -by the way, my brother lives in Tampa, are you near there? I never thought to look in the thrift store for the wooden hangers. They are so much nicer than the plastic aren't they? Sounds like you have a lot of fun ahead of you with all of those hangers! :)

oh, the heat is unbearable these past few weeks, heat index 104 today, uukk!
and yes we live about 40 miles from Tampa, and my husband works there.
I think I only paid like .10 a hanger, and I do love them allot more than the plastic ones.
and I can't wait to start working on them.
      stay cool!

Hi patti we love watching your videos. Would you be able to make a video tutorial on coasters please ? Maybe using material to cover them or other items to decorate ? I'm not sure what to make them out of. Thank you from the UK x

    Hi Patti
Love this project* I have been wanting to make my hangers pretty for a while now. Not sure where to get those kind of hangers. I have the plain plastic ones. The colors are great too that you chose, so shabby chic. Look at that gorgeous waterfall at the end. I saw your cute bike too. Thanks for sharing a great video Patti

Hi Deezie! I had them on my web page and my very annoying web provider is dragging their feet on fixing my broken page. I spent over an hour and a half last night putting the blog post together and adding all of the links, then the page jammed up. I have not yet been able to finish my new web site! The wooden hangers are so much nicer! Thanks about that waterfall, my husband worked so hard on that. It's funny that bike riders, drivers, and pedestrians get to see it a lot more than we do. When I get the mail occasionally I will sit at the base and let my feet dangle in there. It's so relaxing!
      :)

I love your tutorials, you've gotten me hooked on decoupage. I was wondering if you have ever attempted/thought of or tried to decoupage a mailbox?

    • @patioelf

HI there and thank you! Don't you just love all that you can do with decoupage? I have decoupaged a mailbox in the past. 2 things that are very important when working on an outside piece, the proper base coat (if it's metal you will want to make sure there is no rust and you spray it with a spray paint that is made for metal-if it's plastic, the spray that is for plastic-if it's wood you would want to seal the wood-the hardware store has all of the above) and the second thing is the top coat. Once you are done painting and decoupaging it you can use a product called Spar Varnish, it is waterproof, and protects your work from the UV rays of the sun. I hope that helps! If you need more assistance, let me know, b/c I have video's on how to decoupage on wood, plastic and metal.

Very beautiful. What helps you decide between napkin decoupage and regular?

Hi there Patti. Do you need to use special napkin decoupage glue or could you use mod Podge when working with napkins?

I was wondering the same thing. Because in Patti's previous DIY tutorials with furniture and jewelry boxes, etc, she uses Mod Podge and plastic wrap to avoid wrinkles . Now I'm very confused and she's my favorite tutor!!

This video is great. What other materials can you use other than napkins? Can you cut pictures out of magazines? If so is that even easier than napkins? Thank you.

why haven't you used the napkin glue on your previous tutorials, instead of the plastic wrap? I'm so confused now. Should I used the napkin glue on my furniture as well?
