Thank you very much for your question. DOHC is better for performance because you will get more horsepower with it. SOHC is better for reliability. This is because SOHC engine contains much lesser parts, which will make it more reliable.
@@trendgilI don't care what you say torque at 1500 RPM is better than 4500 rpm. A v6 has more bore than a v6 and goes against it's design philosophy to have low end torque. they are utilizing it's superior design to out perform substandard configurations. If you have a sohc v6 that's 6.0 liters it's going to destroy any pushrod or dohc engine the same size. Ive had push rod motors get their torque at 3950/4000 rpm and dohc motors with 4 camshafts where I have to wait to 4500 rpm sitting there in a front wheel drive platform
