Brett Scallions is such an underrated singer, in most of his live performances he sounds better than the studio recording especially in his prime years. Without Brett Fuel doesn't sound like Fuel anymore...
One of the best 90s/2000s bands hands down couldn’t make a bad album! Brett Scallions is one of the best vocalists of the last25 years underrated is an understatement
Dec. 2024 & this song is still rockin my heart hard🔥 Tells the story of the love of my life 24yrs. ago & how this love was torn apart by timing, distance, & unforgiving circumstance .. Now most recently, it includes loss.. A beautiful soul & consummate musician/songwriter himself, is gone too soon.. & the universe weeps with me… Forever RIP🔥🌹🔥Sweet Adrian 🌺Aloha.. a hui hou🕯️
Carl and Brett are Fuel, without the two together they are just members with hired musicians, it's just not the same, the magic is gone. Wish they would settle their differences!
@@ThierryRocksTV Agreed but Toryn Green was a much better choice than Daughtry. I still can't believe Fuel offered Daughtry the vocalist position in the band years ago. Daughtry covered Hemorrage on tv before he got famous and it was absolutely terrible. His voice simply does not work for Fuel Songs.
I did lights for 5 shows in the late 90's or 2000, I suffer from head injury now so FORGIVE me!They were leaving for world tour, Australia first stop if I remember correctly, they said come on we could use you. Very last minute thing and I had a rottie, no one to take care of her. What a chance I passed up. They were incredible, best live performances, so tight. They were so healthy, food spreads were all fruits and fresh vegetables, No boose. I heard later things changed, but I have faith they didn't. Fuel RULED 🤜🏻🤛🏻👊🏻✊🏻🤟🏻🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Wow he has an amazing voice. On point too!! They sound the same live as they do on record. Every once in awhile I'm reminded of how much I love this band just by coming across any one of their songs.
One of the best rockers from the late 90s. Couldnt believe this stellar line up is no more. Members come n go but the essence of RNR is eternal! A truly great band that deserves international acclaim not just cos they AMERICAN but the fact that writing a memorable hook that will live in minds of fans forever. Thats what I call TALENT!
Wish these 2 geniuses would fucking get over themselves and realize together they are Jerry and Layne and they are still here on this earth to produce new amazing music. Really a huge fan of Fuel. I saw the for the Somthing Like Human Tour at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, RI. I will say, Brett fucking OWNED the crowd and stage. He is one of the best frontmen to come along in a long time. Wish these guys would ride their ride.
Wait - I think this is from the VH-1 Performance I've been searching for now for decades. The way the camera panned from their right - wasn't this the performance in which Train was next to them. Train sang a song; Fuel took one; Train took a turn; Fuel next...absolute classic! Thanks for posting this.
@@melissabarmen4918 Thanks for waking that 55-yr-old brain cell - I'd told people about that performance but could never find it. Now...off to search for that performance - Shimmer is a classic.
I searched fuel VH1 and it came up. For some reason it didn’t come up when I searched fuel and train. It really is a forgotten storytellers episode. I’ve seen Fuel well over 50+ times since 98. Music is kind of an obsession haha and random music facts
The Storytellers and this show was both hosted by VH1, but this one was called VH1 Experience. It was a concert series made with the show itself and behind-the-scene stuff as well😊
Brett Scallions is only singing the verse. the chorus and bridge he is miming. his voice was pretty shot at this point and couldnt sing live anymore. such a shame
.remember your music since the days when I was living the States and listening to Z100 radio(New York city). So much time has gone by and I am glad to find you other ways listening to your music. I wish you the very best, remember your music always, Angela from central Italy :)
Thank you uploading this. What a masterful life version. Feeling this song big time at the moment, family life seems so crushing at times… Go fuel, what a song ❤️
No this isn't lip synced. It's a slight bit of recording lag between video and audio. There are so many album inconsistencies but those are what make it cool ;)
I watched it a few times over and I think it is lip synced. His mouth is so close to the mic that you would be hearing him take in a breath, but you don't. But, it also looks to be filmed for a documentary or music video. So, it would make sense to use the studio recording.
@arcanite Just saw him live down here in Florida. His voice goes in and out. Some parts of the song were perfect and others had a crack or too. Loved it anyway. Great to see them with Brett again.
i was commenting to Robbie5490 - I agree Brett is definately singing, that's what I meant by Get Real! it could be his internet speed that's the problem :)
Actually, if I am correct, Collective Soul's lyrics say "all your weight", and Fuel's lyrics say "all of your ways". The songs are are about 2 different things. There's a lot of music out there and a lot of it sounds similar. But it was not plagiarized.
I think it's well known at this point that the choruses and the pretty much everything from the 2nd chorus on was track. The verses sound live. Kevin came out and blasted the band about the tracks after he was fired. Brett couldn't sing at that point. Deviated septum, lead to surgery, fucked his voice. If you watch a video from more recent of this song. Sounds incredible and I'm fairly certain Carl didnt give brett the tracks to use for his version of Fuel.
it was a mix of both. They started using a backing track for live performances on TV because Brett was dealing with bleeding vocal cords on this tour which unfortunately led to permanent damage that he still struggles with today. The record label and his band mates put fame and money over his safety and health and it's why he has refused to make another record with Carl ever since
Brett Scallions is such an underrated singer, in most of his live performances he sounds better than the studio recording especially in his prime years. Without Brett Fuel doesn't sound like Fuel anymore...
Agreed
Bought this album the day I brought my first daughter home from the hospital...she's gonna be 16 tomorrow. SMH
Time flys..
Damn bro shes 20 now
Hope you managed to beat dudes with a stick and she isn't inked up and hooking.
She can drink now. Where did it go? We were just kids
man i didnt know this dude could SING, amazing

growing up with this band helped me get through alot of hard times thank you fuel
Jackie Capobianco 90s rock/alternative was the last of a dying genre of phenomenal music unfortunately 😔
same here
Such an underrated band.... its almost criminal
100%
They are definitely dope. ❤😊
Couldn’t agree more!

Carl Bell is such a genius, he wrote most of the songs of fuel and falls on me.
Probably their best live performance ever...on point!!!
Hands down, Al’s most of any band!
Yeah the band was sounding great at this time. This was when Brett starting lip syncing tho. So he isn’t singing live unfortunately.
Carl and Brett are Fuel, without the two together they are just members with hired musicians, it's just not the same, the magic is gone. Wish they would settle their differences!
But Brett is back at least, better than that emo guy
Can't leave out Jeff and Kevin. Those guys were amazing with the other two.
Steve Dunbar why was Kevin fired from the band do you know that.

Gio Trapani Kevin was never fired, he wasn’t able to do things he wanted which led to him and a member not getting along

Such a bad ass song why cant they make music like this anymore freaking love it
Actually sings , plays instruments , doesnt (sample) steal artists music , we need the 80s 90s early 00s back
Brett is a badass lead singer
100%
The magic combo right there. So sorry Brett and Carl couldnt keep it alive. I miss this lineup.
Wow he has an amazing voice. On point too!! They sound the same live as they do on record. Every once in awhile I'm reminded of how much I love this band just by coming across any one of their songs.
Wish it was them singing lol looks like it was recorded vocals for this session minus the verse
@@bradturner5859 not even that. The chorus is literally ripped straight from the record
@@pisspratt9002 'haha you're right!
@@pisspratt9002 Brett was lip syncing by this point. His voice was shot.
wow not all people can sing live and this dude can really sings!! love it!!
Unfortunately he’s lip-syncing. From this point on until he left the band he very rarely sang live anymore.
Wow , rember when the music industry actually had talented artists??? I do. And it doesnt exist anymore
Such a beautiful song so incredibly performed! Still listening in 2018 🤘🏼
I'm still occasionally listening in 2021.
here 2022
Still listening in 2023 😊
It’s like Alice In Chains. Without Layne Staley it is not the same. And I love Jerry Cantrell. Truth is the truth.
Our boy Brett really knew how to draw the ladies to the front of the stage!!lol
Can't stop watching this great live version

Love this song. Strikes a chord with me on a personal level and always a reflection on the uncanny sound that Brett possesses.
Miss this kind of band

This song 🎧 is to the soul for me
Still love them in April 2023🔥🎸💛✨💋
Gotdamn! I will forever love this band!!
seen them 3 times. they are awesome
One of my favorite rock groups. Makes me miss my pre to early teens.

If only we could turn back time. Great band and that lead singer....:)
Duuuude he’s such a phat singer! Wow that voice man is amazing
I've fallen in love with his voice...
He is soooo mesmerizing. ❤️❤️❤️
The eyes, I had a crush on him when I was younger.
Found this band last year and damn, their music is really good. Then I found out they were from early 00's.
they formed in 1993 actually. first album came out independently in 1994👍🏻
His voice is amazing. Pure talent unlike most people nowadays, I can say that because I’m 15 and have to hear it all the time.
seen them twice, they are awesome
my dad was friends with them in college we keep in touch them everynow and then
They sound really good live.

Couldn't sound any better live. Very impressive vocals, wish they were still around.

Wow! Sounds really good live! Wish I was there..

vaiisking no bruh, its synces sadly, very easy to tell when youve listened to the vocals enough. He does the same for hemmorage at this performance

They need to do some major touring, still havent seen them live and i would even see them twice if i got the chance
Seen them in 2000 and yes he's that good
Best bet is to bring that magic back my friend...
This is just Beautiful 🎶
rockstars dont need a backup track being played to make there voice fuller, thats for pop stars

Good lord the studio version doesn't capture the depth of the other lead at all. It's actually hypnotizing. Fuckin beautiful.
