I so so agree with you and I am so happy to see a YT touch on this issue. I stopped buying a lot of products for my hair about four to five years ago when I noticed, that none of them were making a difference in my hair. I went back to what used to work when my mother was doing our hair (added a few products), I have very dry hair and scalp so I started back using hair grease. I only use one product, I deep condition my hair once a month during shampooing, and I moisturize my hair daily with Aleo Vera juice, almond oil, and peppermint oil. Now because my hair tends to dry quickly, I use Shea Butter and oils mixed together three to four times a week and my hair is healthier than it has ever been, almost waist length. Now the one thing I noticed that I have been doing that I wasn't before (and it came about due to a serious medical emergency) is drinking a ton of water. I almost lost my life and the one thing the doctor told me to do was, drink at least 72 oz of water a day, this is when I noticed a lot of hair growth, great video and I pray that other natural hair ladies, listen and take heed.

For me and my 4c hair I just need soft filtered water, shea butter and aloe Vera juice or gel and maybe occasionally almond oil and I’m good. If I use a mask it’s an avocado mask. And don’t have to put this on my hair all the time which is great because my hair is dry easily being high porosity.
@@preciousfro oh yes my hair changed when I got a shower filter. But before I could afford one I just would buy distilled gallon water jugs from the dollar store or from Walmart which works the same for washes and daily DIY hair spritz

Formulation can cause a large difference in how a product turns out tbh. I find that Aussie Moist 3min is superrrrr drying for my hair, whereas the TGIN Miracle Repairx (which, most likely because it’s made the same company and has a similar formulation to the Honey Mask) is super hydrating and moisturizing for my hair.
@@shantavanee the only issue I have with Aussie 3min is that it's so waxy that I almost fell in the shower more than two times. It also feels waxy maybe because of the numerous cationic surfactants. So, I had to stop using it before I injure myself.
There are too many products out there on the shelf that it can become too overwhelming. I use one oil, been using for a two years straight and it has grown my hair drastically. Wouldn't change it. I use design essentials and it have done wonders on my hair and I do not change and my hair is super long. I don't switch it and I don't do anything else. What works for me, I don't fix it and don't change.
Now that I'm trying to change my regimen, the number of products will be increasing. My regimen rotates my products, so any additional products will just fall into the rotation. Just counting the products, I have plus the ones I want to add, it comes to 12 products. My shampoo regimen only uses 7 products. Any changes are for the midweek use.
Hello! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing shedding. It would be hard for me to say exactly what you should do without knowing the reason that your hair may be shedding. Do you think that it's shedding or do you think that it's actually breaking?
I’ve turned natural a few years ago and I still don’t know how to do my hair I just wear braids all the time and I have such good hair but idk how to do it
If you live in a hot and humid area, you need more than oil or butter to set your style because they have no hold agents. You need a strong hold gel or cream based on the density and texture of your hair else your style won't last for 10 mins. Ingredients to look out for include Polyquaternium- 69, Polyquaternium- 55, Vp/va copolymer, Pvp, Acrylate Copolymer etc.
I respectfully disagree. I don't try to force my hair to do anything that it doesn't want to do or maintain any curl pattern that it doesn't want to. Gels can be very drying so I stay away from them. My focus is health of my hair first and reducing product build up.
@@preciousfro Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to force my styling option on you or anyone however, based on my experience as someone that lives in a highly hot and humid place, I've had my style go limp within 2 mins of styling and leaving the house because I used only butter. So I researched and all the results I got was to use a product with hold or humidity blocker I've tried it and it worked perfectly (this also includes grease which I've tried as well👌🏿) Not all gels are created equally. There are botanical gels and for synthetic gels, I use a leave-in under it and a little oil to break the crunch. 💖
I understand what you're saying, I think since I'm looking to reduce product buildup as much as possible and keep my routine simple I would never consider a gel. I just accept my hair wanting to be poofy or frizzy in humidity. But i'm glad you have a routine that works for you!
@@preciousfro to prevent product build up try a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. I use crème and nature clay conditioner and shampoo right along with their prepoo clay mask. I use the clay mask once or twice a month
Try some natural simple things like clove water, alovera gel if it agrees with you, castor oil etc....these makes healthy hair ...you can always add products when you can afford to
Can you recomened any shampoos and moisturizers for my hair its really damaged due to my hair being relaxed several times its been a few months and it looks worser than before and ot shrank alot
Hey hun, I'm going to be honest with you. A shampoo or a moisturizer is not going to bring back hair that has been chemically damaged from a relaxer. I would try to salvage it with using protein treatments and focus on taking care of and regrowing your new hair.

I love the Camille Rose Twisting Butter! Great video sis!
Thanks so much!
I love this video sooo much ... less is indeed more
Thank you so much for watching !
I like this hairstyle
Thank you!
@@preciousfro you'r welcome
There are too many products out there on the shelf that it can become too overwhelming. I use one oil, been using for a two years straight and it has grown my hair drastically. Wouldn't change it. I use design essentials and it have done wonders on my hair and I do not change and my hair is super long. I don't switch it and I don't do anything else. What works for me, I don't fix it and don't change.
What oil is it?
If it aint broke don't fix it !
Thanks for sharing!
Good job.... Please advise on shading hair I don't know why my keeps shading....
Hello! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing shedding. It would be hard for me to say exactly what you should do without knowing the reason that your hair may be shedding. Do you think that it's shedding or do you think that it's actually breaking?
I’ve turned natural a few years ago and I still don’t know how to do my hair I just wear braids all the time and I have such good hair but idk how to do it
How is your hair holding up with your braid routine?
Another viewer here appreciating you getting to the point and not talking for 15 minutes. Thank you lol
Glad you enjoyed!
You are do right
If you live in a hot and humid area, you need more than oil or butter to set your style because they have no hold agents.
So I researched and all the results I got was to use a product with hold or humidity blocker I've tried it and it worked perfectly (this also includes grease which I've tried as well👌🏿)
Not all gels are created equally.
@@preciousfro try botanical gels the hood isn’t the best, but it doesn’t dry your hair out
@@preciousfro to prevent product build up try a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. I use crème and nature clay conditioner and shampoo right along with their prepoo clay mask. I use the clay mask once or twice a month
Love twist outs
You and me both!
What's the difference between black Jamaican castor oil and normal castor oil?
Finally a REAL person ☺️
Thanks so much for watching!
The grease can be use in place of butter??
I don’t even have money for products for my 4c hair cos it’s so freaking expensive I tell u and I’m broke. I’m always managing my products
They can def. be expensive, which is why just focusing on a few simple products is beneficial in the long run.
Try some natural simple things like clove water, alovera gel if it agrees with you, castor oil etc....these makes healthy hair ...you can always add products when you can afford to
Can i use this if i have 4a hair?
do you apply butter/cream first then oil? or oil then butter/cream?
Can you recomened any shampoos and moisturizers for my hair its really damaged due to my hair being relaxed several times its been a few months and it looks worser than before and ot shrank alot
Hey hun, I'm going to be honest with you. A shampoo or a moisturizer is not going to bring back hair that has been chemically damaged from a relaxer. I would try to salvage it with using protein treatments and focus on taking care of and regrowing your new hair.
What porosity does your hair has?
I have low porosity hair.
@@preciousfro Ah ok thx, mine is high.
I totally agree 🥰
Thanks for watching!
Rebel! Lol love it ❤

What is the porosity of your hair?
Good Question, i'm not 100% positive but I'd say it's low-medium
That's right,keep it simple as possible.We don,t need that much.Lovely video.Thx.👍💝🥰

Beautiful hair lady
Thank you so much!

You are amazing
Thank you!!
Tgin leaves my hair feeling stripped. Has anyone else experienced this?
Really!? I've never experienced that personally.
does it matter what brand of jojoba oil I get?
I think as long as it's legit jojoba oil, and not watered down with a bunch of other stuff you should be good!
Thank you darling for sticking with oils and butters lol😁
lol I'm never letting them go! Thank you for watching!
I love this video!💞. Very early in my journey, I discovered one of my staple products and used it until the brand changed the formula.
🤚Quilty of being a rebel also 🤣. Thank God that I am at the stage of my journey where less is more.
VO5 is my #1 pick! I even upgrade it to use as a deep conditioner.
Glad I'm not the only rebellious one! Lol! wow I totally forgot about V05!! I used to use that all the time as a kid, I should give that another try. Super affordable line as well. Thank you for sharing!
That’s right! I’ve been revisiting more affordable conditioners and beefing them up, the old school way. I was literally just looking at V05 again! ❤️
I use Vo5 too and okay around with the conditioner
Yasssss!!!!!! 💜🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Thank you for the support!
If you don't mind me asking, whats your ethnic background?
I do not mind, my family is from Ghana.
@@preciousfro I knew it! I notice on social media Ghanaian and Nigerian women often have very long (long as in waist/tailbone/hip length) type 4 hair with high density. Must be genetic
💞💞
💖
@@AfriPrincess411 If you study the women from the African culture with long hair they use a lot of oils and butter

The founder Tia passed away
Oh I had no idea, that's terrible.
Oh yea. TGIN deep mask is it. It’s so solid. Everything about it is great. Too thicke 4c is also good, but no need to pay $25 bucks
I don't buy all of that stuff... I've been getting by all of this time... My hair is healthy... It will be long if I want my hair to be... I will cut all of my hair off if I want a certain style...
