I also wanted to say that Brother Munro's TB-handling skills have certainly improved! It's so interesting with this game how, in the very early stages of a campaign, torpedoes are the Queens of Battle because gunnery is just so inaccurate.
considering both the british battleships turret armour and your own torpedoes insane dud rate at this point i think the TBs main guns are probably a bigger threat to the britisbh BBs than the torps lol
2:34 Rylanor rides resourceful! Autoresolve be damned, she fights well. 'A visage of the past and of beautiful cities So what has occurred here, what are we missing?'
37:35 Praise be the omnissiah! More Rylanor! And heading up her own squadron no less, Huzzah! 'There is something wrong here, there is something hidden With every second growing closer, I feel it near me!'
50:00 I dare say that like Fulgrim, the british's defeat at the hands of Rylanor (and the santissimo crocefisso) might prevent their pride from ever truly returning to what it once was. The era of the royal navy being the dominant power upon the seas is behind us, only the imperium shall remain. Praise be the omnisiah! praise be the emperor of man!
Good game the Austrian torpedo boats in Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts. Flash fire moment with British : 1- BB Saint Vincent (17:56) 2- BB Conqueror (22:08) 3- BB Queen Elizabeth (47:30)
Loved the video @BrotherMunro! Can't wait for the next video man! This video definitely was a Catastrophe for the British as it Ultimately resulted in Oliver Cromwell's Civil War to be Avenged like the Wolverines in Red Dawn LMAO! Game Prompt: "War between the Spanish Empire and the Russian Empire has Started!" Me: "Okay so Knowing that We the Austro-Hungarian Empire Started this out of a Need to sweep the British From the Mediterranean and Securing Trade Routes with our Overseas Territories which were Ceded to us as War Reparations from Italy after they had Invaded Montenegro, The Russians are an Ally to both Serbia as well as our own yet we haven't Exported any Ships to them and that we are now set to Invade Gibraltar..... I say we Completely Sweep the British from the Mediterranean Hand Gibraltar over to the Spanish because Tensions have just Reached our Respective Territories in East Africa and the Navy will more than likely be Needed there to Support the Local Forces there." With this in Mind, start trying to Work on Improving Relations with Both the Spanish Empire and the Russian Empire/Soviet Union. Meanwhile, Send a Squadron comprised of 9 Viper-class Torpedo Boats, The Rylanor, The Feldkirch and the Santissimo Crocefisso down to the Territories of Eritrea, Somoliland and Ethiopia for a 6 Month Deployment in Support of Forces in the Area. Keep the Oberon's and the Super Enforcer's in the Mediterranean in case something else should come up. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!
The Royal Navy did not have a good time this episode, eh? They clearly don't know who they're dealing with... Regarding those strange things with the turrets and refits and so on, I'd say it seems like this has something to do with the tweaks & fixes mod, or not being used to how it works. If it was for me, you'd have permission to do a Cawl and go commit full-on Turbo-Heresy by editing the save files or whatnot!
Speaking of upgrading, the bug/feature where minor nations upgrade ships made a re appearance in 1.6.something for a while, but went away again with a later uodate, unfortunately. Also, the copy then upgrade as one class thing didn't work at all for me last time i tried it in 1.6, but I must admit that was a fairly early version of 1.6. It basically treated the copys as their own separate class when it came to later upgrades, unfortunately. I may give it a try again when i have an opportunity, but that will likely have to wait until i atart a new campaign. And the fiddling with torpedo save vs normal vs aggressive logic they did early in 1.6 seems to have been passed down to guns as well in one of the more recent updates. From what I've seen, it appears that with guns set to save will shoot sometimes with < 7% chance to hit, when before they generally needed to be over 20%, sometimes over 30% before they'd engage under save logic.
You can block the med with 2 ships, one at gibraltar and one at djibouti. This way no one can enter and you can raid and bombard all you want. You can also see where the ai is going because the fleet tooltip tells you together with a red dotted line. When copying just use another name, the refits work that way, you just have to do it twice.
Breaking the Blockade 31:00: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 14 July 1902 The Ambition class Panzerschiffe Feldkirch * and Styria, from the Spalato Marinestation in Croatia, was joined by the Viper, lead of her class of Torpedoboote, and her sister ships Viper T-5, Viper T-13, Viper T-15, and Viper T-18, as well as the Python class Torpedoboot Python T-4, and her sister ships Python T-8, Python T-11, and Python T-13, to hit the two Galatea class 1902 refitted heavy cruisers, the lead of the class Galatea, and the Kent. If these two ships were sunk or driven off with overwhelming damage, the blockade of the Croatian and Montenegrin ports would be broken. Their movements reported by various fishing vessels, Styria and Feldkirch found their smoke to the south-east. Again both Panzerschiffe would hold back but the Torpedoboote would form on Viper T-0 in one long squadron, with Python T-4, Python T-8, Viper T-15, Viper T-5, Viper T-13, Python T-11, Viper T-18, and Python T-13 following. Kent was sighted leading Galatea. Viper T-6 took hits coming in and was able to launch only two torpedoes before being sunk with 32 of her 35 man crew. Kent was turning and avoided the torpedoes. Python T-4 was coming up next, and she was ordered to launch on Galatea. Python T-4 took 8.3” and 4.6” hits after she launched her two torpedoes. Both came in clean and tight, hitting Galatea amidships. But Python T-4 didn’t make it away, losing 7 of her 14 man crew, the 7 survivors bailing out when they saw the British retaliatory striking coming in after scuttling the boat. Python T-8 came up and launched one torpedo on Galatea also, taking hits as she turned away. She was followed by the more capable Viper T-15 but got to see her torpedo hit aft. With her two dual launchers Viper T-15 staggered her launches, one coming in from astern at a sharp angle and the second closer to 90 degrees off the starboard quarter of Galatea. The first hit from astern was as a dud, the other torpedo a miss, but the second pair both exploded. Viper T-5 took note of Galatea damage and list, and targeted her four torpedoes at Kent. Galatea did sink with 1050 of her 1074 man crew. Kent was now alone as Viper T-5 linked up her shot. Kent launched her one starboard torpedo tube, catching Viper T-5 focused on getting her own torpedoes trained. The torpedo passed right under Viper T-5’s bow close enough to shave the rust. Viper T-5, undaunted, launched her torpedoes in two crossing strikes. Kent however had turned her stern on Viper T-5, and only one hit, doing some damage aft. Viper T-13 chose to turn, hiding behind Galatea’s sinking wreck as she tried to get on the port side of Kent. Kent was focused on the threat passed, trying and succeeding in sinking Viper T-5 with all hands while Viper T-13 snuck in behind her. Again a Viper staggered her spreads, but she also came under the port side tube of Kent. Viper T-13 turned hard to port as her four torpedoes closed, taking 4.6” shells. Viper T-13 took three torpedo hits. Viper T-13 got one hit but it was a dud. Python T-11 came up but miss timed her launch. Her torpedo would miss. Viper T-18 was closing to complete the attack with only the older Python T-13 as backup. Viper T-13 sank with all but one of her 35 man crew as Viper T-18 came up to Kent’s port side. She was well up and angled when she launched all four torpedoes together. All four hit with only one dud. Kent lost her #1 and #3 engines. Kent was heavily damaged and sank with 977 of her 1074 man crew as Python T-13 lined up. Viper T-15 had taken 13 casualties. Python T-8 took 7, and Viper T-18 6, with Python T-11 taking 2. The two Panzerschiffe did not have to engage, keeping word of their incredible capabilities away from the main Royal Navy battle fleet. 120 Royal Navy personnel were picked up and shuttled ashore quickly, kept away from Austria’s military marvels. * Marksman’s Honour
Battle of Limassol, Part 2 43:50: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 22 August 1902 The Main Event Swiftsure wasn’t able to press the attack either, taking 3”, 5”, 11”, and even now 12” shells, the whole front of the ship was ripped to pieces, the forward twin 12.1” turret destroyed, two engines disabled, the bow and main tower aflame, the list from her flooding making all her guns inoperable. Swiftsure too tried to turn away, but this only opened up her stern to damage. She was ripped open from bow to stern and sank only moments before she would have snapped in two, losing 1300 of her 1373 man crew. A very doubtable ship in the end. Superb was up, and the loss of both Malaya and Swiftsure at least meant Superb was close enough to fire her 9.4” guns, though her pathetic shells only chipped the paint of the armor of Austrian ships. Her aft turret mechanism jammed and locked pointing to port rather than train to starboard. But the British were so deep into the arc of the bending Austrian battle line that Rylanor, Ancient of Rites had time to blow up the heavy cruiser Endymion who lost 470 of her 510 man crew. Superb meanwhile had lost her forward and aft 9.4” turrets, her main tower, her coning tower, all three engines, and had flooding throughout the ship. She sank with 902 of her 957 man crew of green sailors and officers. Redoubtable was the last battleship in the division, and still tried to close to engage, firing her 6.5” guns after losing her forward 12.1” turret, she had flooding fore and aft. She tried to break away to the east and join the protected cruisers and torpedo boats, but as she passed the end of the line Emperor’s Glory struck with two torpedoes. One was a dud but the other blow the bow off Redoubtable, sinking her with 1280 of her 1373. Rather than bring up her division in parallel with that of Malaya, King Edward VII was now closing into the very same trap. She still had the damaged Argyll along with the Ajax and the Queen Elizabeth. King Edward VII at least tried to turn and get across the T of the Austrian battle line, ahead of Rylanor, Ancient of Rites. But again Rylanor had the speed advantage and wasn’t going to let that happen. Rylanor simply pulled the battle line around King Edward VII like a closing noose, wrapping the battle line around the remaining British capital ships and the Argyll. What hits the Rylanor took from the British she shrugged off as nothing more than flea bites. With King Edward VII now wrapped up Rylanor launched her port side torpedoes even as King Edward VII blew off her 12.1” turrets in a magazine flash fire. Oberon got a 12” shell into Queen Elizabeth that also set off her magazine. Queen Elizabeth sank with 1336 of her 1373 man crew. King Edward VII sank moments later with 1267 of her 1373 man crew. The Duke of York class Ajax was left, Argyll was struggling to get away while Rylanor, Ancient of Rites headed for her, and the entire British starboard wing, the protected cruisers and torpedo boats, were nowhere to be seen. The battle line now opened Ajax from bow to stern, taking out both gun turrets, flooding, the ship, destroying the main tower, the conning tower, and fire direction. Ajax’s green crew was overwhelmed attempting damage control, trying to hold the rising water in their engineering areas and losing one engine and boilers already. Ajax sank with 940 of her 957 man crew. Argyll had dragged herself out of the loop the battle line had wrapped around the British battleships, but now she had the attention of the whole battle line as Rylanor, Ancient of Rites passed astern of her. The starboard secondary crews, with guns as yet unfouled, were thrilled at the opportunity to open up with their 5” guns. Rylanor launched her starboard torpedoes and this time got a hit forward that finished the flooding on Argyll, who went down with 199 of her 685 man crew, the survivors abandoning ship at the sight of the torpedoes speeding towards them. With the British light ships fled, the battle was over. Having the honor of leading the fleet, Rylanor, Ancient of Rites had taken 68 casualties as the British desperately tried to get past her and away. Adjudicator took 6, Prinz Eugen 2, and Oberon 1. Santissimo Crocelisso had done the most damage in the battle, sniping ships at long range and leaving the, like Argyll, to be finished later. The fleet picked up 972 British survivors.
The Bolt from Limassol 50:18: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 20 September 1902 With reports of the defeat of the Royal Navy just off shore sweeping across the Island, the colonial government packed up everything portable and loaded themselves on eight Mentor class 17 thousand ton 71 manned unarmed transports. To escort them out of Limassol they only had the Centaur class protected cruiser Medusa and the 205 ton torpedo boat Fervent. Families of British civil servants were packed on board with an occasional lucky pet, nanny, or butler. Some Cypriot collaborators bought passage with the wealth they had ripped from their people under British colonial rule. They headed out, hoping the KuK Kriegsmarine was still distracted with logistical concerns after the Battle of Limassol, little knowing the entire Kreuzer force had not been involved in the engagement, and was waiting offshore. The British came out so suddenly that it was up to Cardinal to take them on with Echo of Damnation and Silent Fire. Saalfelden led Ecstasy of Devotion, Vöcklabruck, and Spirit of Defiance forward. The rest of the Kreuzer scrambled to get into position. Medusa came out to cut them off, hiding under fire. Fervent also tried to intercept them. However the crew of Medusa abandoned the ship when Cardinal launched torpedoes at them, losing in the end only 149 of the 426 man crew. Fervent decided it would be a good idea to break away from the Austrian ships, leaving them to shell the transports. The Lynx surrendered after losing 32 of her 71 man crew, as did Pique. Saalfelden was passing astern of the convoy when she spotted Fervent and took her under fire. The transport Eagle surrendered after losing 31 of her crew, as did Dartmouth and the convoy leader Mentor. Saalfelden continued to close on the torpedo boat Fervent. Cardinal meanwhile forced the Mameluke to surrender after losing 31 crew but then turned her guns on Fervent. The transport Prince Consort surrendered after losing 32 of her 71 man crew. Miranda surrendered after losing 31. Fervent was nearly out of the trap, with 22.6 knot speed hopeful of breaking away. But she took a flooding hit aft, and now was losing speed. Fervent sank with all 15 of her crew. The British Merchant Marine had lost 140 thousand gross registered tons of shipping, 252 officers and seamen killed, and 568 captured. Another 277 Royal Navy personnel were taken prisoner from the Medusa. Civilian casualties are still being sorted. Many “British Citizens” have very fresh passports with the ink still wet. All the passengers have been returned to Limassol for processing. Fortunately with the surrender of all the transports the number of killed and injured is low. The Governor-General of Cyprus was not found, suggesting he may have been on the Fervent, the ship most likely to get out.
my take on the turrets is that the mod is not working. eveything else was applied, only the guns you upgraded werent. maybe try remove the guns and place new up to date ones instead of using the upgrade funktion
African Victory 54:45: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 30 September 1902 The KuK Armee has taken the province of Sudan in east Africa. Adjacent to our other holdings, the Port of Sudan will help protect our commerce navigating the Red Sea. Casualties have not been reported. Around the same time the British took control of Southern Sudan. The KuK Armee is pressing against British East Africa, also known as Kenya.
Serbia Taken! 26:57: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 14 May 1902 The long and repeated wars against the Kingdom of Serbia are over, the Kaiserlich und Königliche Armee having forced the surrender of the last defenders of the Kingdom. Wein has admitted that this campaign, while successful, was horribly expense, with the KuK Armee losing 220 thousand casualties to only 121 thousand for the Vojska Kraljevine Srbije.
Cyprus Has Fallen! 54:43: Die Presse: Wein MCMII, 28 September 1902 With the colonial government trying to flee the Island and the Governor-General missing, and believed dead, the Island of Cyprus has been surrendered to the Österreichisch-Ungarische Monarchie by the Chief Secretary to the Governor-General and the by the Primate of the Church of Cyprus. Loses in the landings have not been high, though Cyprus held out for nearly half a year. British losses are estimated at just over 1500 while Austrian losses were less than 800. The government in Wein is weighing pushing for peace, or pushing for Gibraltar and the total expulsion of the Royal Navy from Mare Nostrum.
I also wanted to say that Brother Munro's TB-handling skills have certainly improved! It's so interesting with this game how, in the very early stages of a campaign, torpedoes are the Queens of Battle because gunnery is just so inaccurate.
Your tb control is significantly better than only a few videos ago.
This episode in a nutshell:
“Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance, but not for me!”🤣
British Admiral: We seem to be having a problem with our bloody ships...
Every dud torpedo in this campaign means you didn't pray to the Omnissiah hard enough.
The Emperor approves of the Super Cruisers! We need more even bigger ones!
Praise be the Omnissiah! I see you have now been burning the holy incense correctly to please the machine spirits before launching your torpedoes.
Is it only me or would anybody else love to design their transports too?
Pretty sure Feldkirch was the one that blew up the Conqueror's turret
considering both the british battleships turret armour and your own torpedoes insane dud rate at this point i think the TBs main guns are probably a bigger threat to the britisbh BBs than the torps lol
2:34 Rylanor rides resourceful! Autoresolve be damned, she fights well.

Good game the Austrian torpedo boats in Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts.
Flash fire moment with British :
1- BB Saint Vincent (17:56)
2- BB Conqueror (22:08)
3- BB Queen Elizabeth (47:30)
It changed the turrets since u took them off completly . so try that maybe next time?
I love these older Battleships with torpedoes firing out the sides - just classic.
Any chance we could get an example of either the Erzherzog Karl, Radetzky, Tegetthoff, or the Ersatz Monarch classes in the future?

With reports of the defeat of the Royal Navy just off shore sweeping across the Island, the colonial government packed up everything portable and loaded themselves on eight Mentor class 17 thousand ton 71 manned unarmed transports.

MCMII, 30 September 1902
The KuK Armee has taken the province of Sudan in east Africa. Adjacent to our other holdings, the Port of Sudan will help protect our commerce navigating the Red Sea.
Casualties have not been reported.
Around the same time the British took control of Southern Sudan. The KuK Armee is pressing against British East Africa, also known as Kenya.
You may need to refit the copy of the design you made and try to apply that.
I imagine Sir Jackie Fisher is on the unemployment line.
Will you be able to play as the minor nations in dipv3

MCMII, 14 May 1902
The long and repeated wars against the Kingdom of Serbia are over, the Kaiserlich und Königliche Armee having forced the surrender of the last defenders of the Kingdom. Wein has admitted that this campaign, while successful, was horribly expense, with the KuK Armee losing 220 thousand casualties to only 121 thousand for the Vojska Kraljevine Srbije.
Cyprus Has Fallen! 54:43:
Die Presse: Wein
MCMII, 28 September 1902
With the colonial government trying to flee the Island and the Governor-General missing, and believed dead, the Island of Cyprus has been surrendered to the Österreichisch-Ungarische Monarchie by the Chief Secretary to the Governor-General and the by the Primate of the Church of Cyprus.
The title of your video had me a bit worried.
