Seriously, two MO’s failed within a month after further fun removal patches. At this point every patch that comes out feels like a punishment to the community for finding out a fun weapon, gear or build. And to make it worse the fucking cunt Alexus just mocks the community as the face of AH. So there you go, morale IS low, the community will continue dwindling if you want to make HELLDIVERS 2 a game for “gitgud ” sweatlords instead of the fun bug-shooting experience we seemingly got in February by “accident”.
Most importantly, this is a PVE game, not a PVP one where weapon balancing would matter more so all these bunch of nerfs for guns that people enjoy are just unnecessary. Let all the guns be fun to use.
How about they undo the unnecessary nerfs to the Eruptor and Crossbow, first? The Eruptor allowed me to actually use the Stalwart without being an outright detriment to my team. Now if I pick the Stalwart, ever, I feel like I'm intentionally trolling my team if I don't bring EATs as well. And isn't that just enforcing a stricter META? Now I HAVE to bring EATs any time I don't bring the RR/Quasar. Because stratagems like the Railcannon strike have too long of a cooldown and other orbitals aren't always reliable enough. For crowing about how much they want build diversity, the balance team loves making players do the opposite.

I think primaries aren't meant to kill heavys, but definitely, they should have a use and be solid weapons, not whatever peashooters the lead balance dev thinks they are
They’re not supposed to be bad, but they shouldn’t carry you completely. I love how the game forces us to itemize and stuff. That being said, they should buff some of them, you want the weapon to feel good even if it’s not the strongest (I like the tenderizer handling)

I honestly feel like all they need to do is bump up all "Normal Ammo" guns damage. They could possibly change armor Pen Values too but not sure if that's needed. I feel like the "S Tier Weapons" all have BONUSES. EX: PLAZ Scorcher = the explosion lets penetrate Armor you normally wouldnt Fire Weapons = Are just insane now with DoT damage "fixed". TLDR: They just need to buff the "normal ammo guns" damage to be more in line with the Explosive Damage and Fire DoT changes.

Most if not all of the team don't even play the game and those that play don't even go to 7~9, they are so disconnected with the playerbase that's why the nerfs are everywhere.
Actually, they don't do it. They themselves have said that they only do the tests at level 5 because that's where you can find all types of enemies to test the weapons, the missions are shorter, and that saves them more time.

Is it that bad? I rarely play solo. But what I've noticed long ago is the enemy numbers on the defense missions against Automatons. It's completly broken and over the top!
The other day I shot a hunter point blank with the punisher shotgun and it lived requiring a second shot to kill. Am I crazy for thinking a pump action shotgun should be killing hunters in one hit nearly every time since if you see one it has twenty others with it?
I did a bot mission with randoms, two people in the squad were hiding and doing nothing while me and the party leader were trying to get rid of the gunship facility spawning 15 million gunships that were giving us a hard time, died a lot while these two were hiding and letting the gunships stack, insane after how after they were both kicked, we managed to destroy the gun facility and complete the mission. It was fucking awful how some people prioritize their life instead of the mission as a HELLDIVER. Literally accomplishing nothing and sitting around doing nothing.
I feel like the major order failing is a combination of a lot of things hitting at once. There's the Sony shenanigans, the constant nerfs, enemy buffs, and it doesn't help that this MO involves the bots, which tend to be a torture to fight.
Bots are way more balanced than bugs rn. It’s been this way for a while. Bugs have more one shot potential yet people keep running with this for some reason

I have to say that there is no weapon in-game that needs a nerf at the moment. There should only be buffs for the next balancing patch. If they nerf anything, this is going to show how out of touch the balancing team is.
Tenderizer buff could be it getting hollow point rounds that cause massive wounds but don't penetrate medium armour because that's not how that works and the purifier needs more damage, the new smg is fine, and a bunch of others I could mention

The only reason we killed 2 billion bugs was cause botslayers don’t care and we’d fight bugs when needed. Bug slayers only fight bugs and will never fight bots. And they messed us up with the Sony controversy.
That’s not completely true. With the 2 billion bug major order it was still set that when 1 person killed a bug it counted for the entire team. So 1 bug turned into 4 bugs. They fixed that and now we have to actually kill 2 billion bots.

Those that have bought the game can still play it, there will just not be any new sales of the game in restricted countries. Sony and most other large publishers have done this for a LONG time. Why are people just now getting upset at this? This is nothing new and will not be walked-back like the new account-linking policy. Did you know Microsoft does this? why are you guys only getting upset at Sony for one or two games and not all publishers that do this?

I personally don't understand the way they want things balanced as it is. The issue with ARs was pointed out, but it's not even only that: when you equip a support weapon, you want it to do things that your primary can't, right? Then if you're picking your favourite MG or Laser cannon, anti-materiel sniper rifle, you gotta get EATs on top of things, because you want to actually be able to deal with Titans, Dropships, Hulks, and not spend 10 minutes dealing with a lone Charger. And don't get me started on the Stalwart, which does but a slightly better job than your default AR. What's the point of it, past difficulty 3? On 7+ difficulties, with those 3 stratagems missions, how can you deal with anything? And then, when you go meta, devs just nerf it (Dominator, Quasar). What did they expect?
Laser cannon and AMR can deal with Gunships, Hulks and even the Strider from the front, tanks only from the back. Why would you need EAT on top of that? IMHO this is a waste in the same build
@@TazYourSelf Gunships, not Dropships. Downing a gunship is quite the clamp on a bot counter-attack. Still, it's faster with EAT/Recoilless/Quasar, and speed is everything when dealing with bots: they're more about striking hard fast, whereas bugs are more about constant damage. Striders are easy, right (and some primaries deal with them), but Hulks not that much from middle to close range (I happen to love the Laser cannon). Not saying it's impossible, but that having the adequate stratagem allows you to just gut the Hulks before they're a threat at all, before another thing puts pressure on you. With AMR/Laser cannon, you'll need more time. And by nature, you'll need to have timers (affected by jammers, number of bigger targets/reinforcement) for factory striders and tanks.

But I love bringing my rail gun with a jet pack and then I usually bring eagle airstrikes or the orbital laser. (I have paired it with EATs, but found it’s not necessary if teammates bring said support weapons ⬇️⬇️ I’ve seen people use the laser cannon really well. Personally it’s not for me. Quasar cannon needs to go back to prenerf but it’s still usable. RR is in a good spot with the crouch reload. EATs are always phenomenal no matter the mission. AMR is in a pretty good spot if sniping is your thing…I’m not into it. You’re right though. All of the machine guns are practically unusable unless you want to hate the game. The nerf to the arc thrower so it doesn’t stun hulks made it completely unusable on bots.
@@nehylen5738 okay so not being a dick- you need to get some more experience with the game because.. You 100% do not need EATS on top of amr, laser, heavy mg, AC, Railgun etc... Use rocket pods, RC strike, AC turret, 500kg, orbital strike, etc. they all work. You dont need to be shooting down Dropships (if you're not on defence missions), you NEED to be air striking the patrols they drop with, eagles, orbitals whatever you want (clusters are great for it). Gunships on the otherhand are flawed by Laser Cannon or AC turret- problem solved. Titans are special, if you're alone it'll be your 500kg's and good timing (theres guides for it). If in a squad bring 2 RC strikes, and 1 person with either EAT's or Rocket pods and thats plenty. You can also bring an AC turret or 500kgs for extra insurance but its not nessescary. Use teamwork and avoid patrols, skip difficult nests/bases or side objectives KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR COOLDOWNS and Dont engage things you arent ready to fight. I want to re-iterate HULKS are very easy to deal with even if you only have a primary weapon and stun grenades. Stun it with a grenade and then run behind it and blow out its heatsink with your pirmary (scorcher works great) or set-up a freind to do it, takes like 5 seconds. You can also slow them by targeting one of their legs or disarm them by taregting their weapon-arm. Bring a defender with a riotsheild and you are resistant to gunfire, effectively minimizing a large chunk of the bot roster. The general balance is quite reasonable, you primary weapons handle most of the light to medium targets while your stratagems will help you with bigger enemies and larger packs. If they overtune primaries the game will become too easy- not saying buffs arent warranted, but dont make this a baby game please. You people have a history of being idiots and asking for idiot things, the eruptor nerf was YOUR OWN FAULT, because you idiots dont know what a ricochet even is. I will agree patrols are a little funny right now but they're manageable, they're just a bit annoying in frequency hopefully its adjusted again.
Anyone else notice how much the progress we make over on the Automatons get reseted? Like I’ve seen about 3 planets about 33%-57% liberated. Next day I log on and it’s back down to 0%-1%. I’m like, wtf? At this point what’s even the point in trying? The amount of Helldivers that died and the time spent focused on the planets and the progress gets reset every time. Kinda kills the game for me honestly.
As of late many players went back to bugs with the exception of the major order, during that time only a couple thousand players were playing bots compared to 100k on bugs, because there are so many players online the bot planets percentage values are up there with the bug planets. A couple thousand barely makes a dent in that
We need a training range so we can test out weapons and strats to get the feel of it before going into missions. Otherwise, we're stuck with a disadvantage in the middle of battle
Honestly at the start I really loved this game. But with the increased patrols for solo players, constant nerfs, it really feels like they don't want us to have fun anymore. Also make the warbonds worthwhile, the latest one was such a cash grab.

I don't see it that way, they are trying to get people to squad up! It's more fun in a squad! The game wasn't made to lone wolf through their worlds. Too many RUclipsrs making solo videos instead of fun squad videos where everyone contributes to the mission. The game is a squad based game.
Its a bug, and it shows whoever made the change did not play the game himself, otherwise it would have been obvious that the spawn interval is screwed up. Instead of having different interval between patrol spawn, regardless of player counts it will always spawn patrols as if there are 4 players, which has the shortest spawn interval of 2:45. If youve completed all objectives, side objectives, and nest/fabs this goes down to 12 seconda between spawn. Yes its fucked but the fact that this simple mistake made the final patch goes to show whoever in charge of this patch completely missed this super obvious error.
Another, and I think big reason, why we may not complete the order is that they nerfed a lot of weapons that we relied on such as the Europter and the Quasar, along with other weapons. While the Punisher Plasma got a buff, not everyone is into using such weapons and like kinetic weapons more. They really need to buff the weapons so enemies don't feel like bullet sponges, plus the amount of enemies that spawn can get ridiculous, especially when a patrol comes in and summons reinforcements while you're already trying to fend off the last reinforcements from the last patrol.
Seems like the CEO finally caught up to the fact that the ARs ingame are so misrepresented its tragicomical, behaving more like SMGs than ARs. For proper immersion and fun ARs should naturally deliver more dmg pr shot and DPS than SMGs (as the CEO himself says, we're talking about guns that produce ~2,000 Joules of muzzle energy, compared to on average 500 Joules of pistol caliber weapons), being actual std service combat rifles, whilst SMGs on the other should be more niche weapons for use with other equipment like for example shields etc. Hopefully the CEO's comments means this will soon be addressed.
2 billion bots is impossible in the same time frame. One, we didn’t actually kill 2 billion bugs due to the glitch but generally speaking Bots spawn less numbers in a mission, are harder to kill, we’ve had several nerfs to the best guns for killing bots such as damage decreases mag reductions, and longer cool down times for support weapons. How did they think this was going to go?
In my opinion, the AR-23P/ Liberator Penetrator needs the most buffing out the entire current assault rifles. It doing 15 less damage than the base AR-23/ Liberator kinda doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when you think about it
I feel like they are giving us major order goals based strictly on what player pops used to be, and aren't really sure how to adjust the numbers as the pop shrinks. So we're just getting a bunch of orders we can't do. Doesn't help no one likes fighting bots so I felt like this was going fail from the start.
Speak for yourself, I know plenty of people who enjoy fighting bots. The bug bashers need to put their big helldiver pants on, suck it up and help us get this order, as inevitably, they will also benefit from AT mines.
Light armor penetration should be for smgs and pistols. ARs should start at the lower end of medium penetration and snipers should start at the higher end of medium penetration
There's also the fact that people are not that excited to play the game in general because the devs seem hell-bent on making the game as unfun as possible

The assault rifle problem is extra goofy when you consider that the best AR currently in the game is a DMR that wasn't good enough to be a DMR and got changed to an AR and instantly made every other AR option look like a complete joke. A half-assed, barely good enough DMR is better than EVERY OTHER AR AVAILABLE at the same ranges, in a role that it wasn't even originally designed for. And then they put out a warbond with a new AR that's worse than the default starter AR in every way _after_ having already added the DMR/AR that outclasses it exponentially. What's the point of ever using any AR that's _as good as_ or, god forbid, _worse than_ the Liberator when the other one (that I can't remember the name of right now) already exists with double the armor pen, twice the range and the exact same ergonomics?
Honestly, I wanted fashion to matter as well but with the blood and oil now covering us from head to toe, it hardly matters anymore. We only see it when we start the mission.

I play casually (lvl40ish). I used to play on difficulty 7 on bots but I played some 5 this weekend to have "relaxing fun time" with different loadouts since the eruptor is dead. It felt like the game turned into a running simulator.

I think this is more to the enemies being made harder to kill. People focus so much on the weapons nerfs, but nobody talks about the spawn rates, how they take less damage, make more damage to the player, harder to stagger,... So no matter which weapon you use, you need to do more damage to buffed enemies now. I remember wiping bile spewers with stalwart, now I need a machine gun for them.
I think it’s really fun and like that there is no one correct weapon to use in all scenarios - I’m switching and experimenting a lot and I think that variety is part of the fun
2 billion bugs (Even without the glitch in the counting system) was more likely as each player can score at least 400 bugs a game. While you get half that or less fighting the bots. 1 Billion bots was far more achievable with the declining playerbase

Primaries are primaries for a reason. They could simply buff up the default AR to medium AP, buff the Penetrator to 60 damage, or allow us to buy or mod in AP rounds, and the problem would be mostly solved. I'd also like to see a medium machine gun with some AP capability, something like a 240 or M60 that reloads like a Stalwart.
They did allude to the illuminate before now, but it was way less direct. In one of the first news videos. They mention illuminate sightings in the news ticker scrolling across the bottom. There may have been small details like this elsewhere, but they were at least mentioned as early as the third week of release.
Never understood how people think automaton is harder than terminid. Lv150, went from only terminid, mixed, to only automaton with terminid for major orders

It would be nice to have a few more medium penetrating assault rifles to deal with hive guards and bile spewers and to help take down devastators and stuff, I do still enjoy using light armor penetrating weapons though so we will see how it all plays out, I have a lot of faith in the future of this game!
CORRECTION on 6:00 the dev team DID state that the primary weapon should suck, they danced around it but they stated that CLEARLY, and THAT is why people believe it.
It would also be super cool that if you shoot down a drop ship it actually kills and damages things, especially when it explodes on them. It's so unrewarding to shoot them down only for the bots to be 100% fine.
I think if we fail the current order, we will still get the new stratagem. But in the case of other orders to receive stratagems, we will not receive mines for free use for a short time.
As far as assault rifles and armour penetration, I feel that instead of making more weapons have medium pen, the armour penetration system in general could use a revisit, in terms of making them a little less all-or-nothing as far as effectiveness. You should still be able to do *something* to medium armour with light penetrating weapons, whether that's by being able to wear down the armour protection with enough shots, or by having another stage of partial penetration that reduces damage further than the current white hitmarker protection, before it deflects off entirely on heavier armour.
Honestly some people dc for objectives bc the benefits reward of warbonds isn’t enough. We don’t need them imo they need to up the price for things and also up the amount we can hold. We don’t need to buff new weapons. The way buffs need to happen is start at the bottom of older weapons. Also stop messing with damage and mess with other stats to change how it feel. Easy example is with the purifier just change how fast it shoot by the charge. If that doesn’t work then up the dmg by 5-10

Whoever is in charge of the balancing team needs to re-learn the definition of Balancing because each new balancing update, they’re doing everything but balancing. It feels like every single primary weapon except maybe two are still useful. Oh, and can we have more light-armor penetrating weapons?

An easy aid for the fashion issues is something similar to Destiny 2's paints. You can paint all your armors the same color scheme, so it doesnt matter if you have this weird hive looking armor and some more normal ones if you can just paint it all New Age Black Armory and it still looks good.
When we first got the game, when the guns were good, the devs told us that joel would make it harder, but in reality the balance team just makes the game “harder” by just nerfing ANYTHING good
People dont "think" that the developers didnt want the primary weapons to be powerful, they said that its intentional and its on their site. Its great that the CEO is listening more and doing something about the nonsense balancing but at least look the info up.
Honestly assault rifles are in a pretty good state, bots are fine if you hit the weak points on devastators, though medium armor bugs are kinda hell I'll agree, no real consistent way to kill them with pin point fire, even the bile spitter sacs take multiple magazines to kill
So, we're struggling to complete major objectives now. Almost as if cutting off access to a number of countries sparking continued outrage actually has an impact.
I don’t think they will drop the new faction until steam allows the game to be purchased in all countries it originally launched with. That way hype can be maximized and keep a good press cycle
They need to balance difficulty and Major Orders with the change to players. Constantly losing progress and failing order after order is only going to make player frustration increase beyond what it already is. Adding ANOTHER faction when all we're doing is losing would backfire horribly. The hardcore players would stay, but everyone else would quit.
The helldivers community's goal at this point is to never unlock the AT mines istg. Both times, there's a significant number of people just doing bug missions while the current major order involved fighting automatons to get AT mines
Strange how the last MO that gave us the crappy rocket stratagem we were able to test/friendly fire at each other before winning it. With the anti tank mine we don’t get to test them and If we loose we might not acquire them. Does this mean they may not be ready until an update??
I honestly stopped playing aftwr the last update. It one of my favorite games of all times but i just dont feel all the nerfs they frustrate me more than anything
I think the last thing we need to be doing is rushing Arrowhead into more unbaked updates... can we as the community give them some damn time to recoup and get the game as is in order? Then we can move onto more additions once our game has a more solid footing?
My concern re: the Illuminate- will people even play them? People don’t like the bots, are they going to like an even more difficult enemy? I used to play against bugs only, now I enjoy the bots (although the patrol spawn is whack) so I’m looking forward to the illuminate- I’m just very curious how to see how they are received..
That major order is destined to fail: 1. fixed number bug on eliminated enemies. 2. order is against bots, that do not spawn in as big of a number as bugs. 3. timing is after sony drama so not every player is in the game, some are still waiting for restriction to be lifted. 4. also new warbond bummed some people, so they are not in the very good mood about playing. even one of those would be enough to make one nervous about being able to finish order in time, but there's at least 4 of them active at the same time
They definitely need to stop nerfing every single gun that is good and they need to add new enemies. This game is starting to get old. They need newer maps and in the superstore to keep adding new armor sets
They can take their time releasing the Illuminate. We don't even have enough players to bust out the current MO or the last MO either. If they add a 3rd front line, that will divide our forces even more.

When they start giving us bonuses for objectives or properly buff the guns so half dont suck ill play again. Fire stoems conviniently only fully making all objective areas unwalkable, being rushed by 50 heavies all the time at difficulty 7 and sometimes not even being able to find super samples, and constant rare samples and req slips when im trying to get super credits is killing the fun for me
They need to fix the damn eruptor. It went from a top tier weapon that could one shot chargers to not even one shotting Striders anymore. Its useless now. Might as well bring the anti material rifle since it can two shot hulk bruisers.
Hey, fashion definitely matters! I am running the Arctic Ranger armour set because it looks nice. I do not enjoy the low armour value, but I can live with that :) As VLDL put it so nicely in their Solaire the Sun Bro video - "So what's the point of all this shit then?" "Just to look good of course!" By the way, go watch that video. It's Dark Souls themed and I would not be able to follow its advice but it's a real gem of wisdom in another regard.
I hope the "No update soon" does not aply to performance/maintenance patches. all this 300, 301, 302 and 303 patches have dropped the performance of the game quite a lot. What they should do with the enemie types is make "big enemies" (chargers titans, hulks, tanks, ATATs) more rare to see with a lot more HP so they feel like "boss" or mini boss. That way you still have the mobs a the medium size enemies being spammed but more killable with primary/secondary weapons.
The new faction is being teased already no? unless its a new bot enemy but ive noticed on bot maps since the new major order that there are invisible ships in the sky on some missions i wonder if its these predator like new faction? makes sense to me especially when the ships are invisible like predators can so maybe their already watching us?🤔
us failing the major order is due to most of the players refunding the game and not being able to rebuy it because they're still being restricted in their country because of sony

How does your math work for the major order fail? We started with 4 days, the screenshot shows 3 days remaining, so 25% through, and progress at 36%, so over a third through. At that rate we should be done with a day spare. Logging in as of posting this comment, we are at 2 days 6 hours remaining and are now at 48.7%, so closer to 50% of the way through both event time and major order completion, but still on track for completion. Am I missing something in the equation?

How about they undo the unnecessary nerfs to the Eruptor and Crossbow, first? The Eruptor allowed me to actually use the Stalwart without being an outright detriment to my team. Now if I pick the Stalwart, ever, I feel like I'm intentionally trolling my team if I don't bring EATs as well.
And isn't that just enforcing a stricter META? Now I HAVE to bring EATs any time I don't bring the RR/Quasar. Because stratagems like the Railcannon strike have too long of a cooldown and other orbitals aren't always reliable enough. For crowing about how much they want build diversity, the balance team loves making players do the opposite.
Eruptor being a Support Weapon in disguise really made a lot of other Support Weapons much easier to use.

They’re not supposed to be bad, but they shouldn’t carry you completely. I love how the game forces us to itemize and stuff. That being said, they should buff some of them, you want the weapon to feel good even if it’s not the strongest (I like the tenderizer handling)

I honestly feel like all they need to do is bump up all "Normal Ammo" guns damage. They could possibly change armor Pen Values too but not sure if that's needed. I feel like the "S Tier Weapons" all have BONUSES. EX: PLAZ Scorcher = the explosion lets penetrate Armor you normally wouldnt Fire Weapons = Are just insane now with DoT damage "fixed". TLDR: They just need to buff the "normal ammo guns" damage to be more in line with the Explosive Damage and Fire DoT changes.

Most if not all of the team don't even play the game and those that play don't even go to 7~9, they are so disconnected with the playerbase that's why the nerfs are everywhere.
Actually, they don't do it. They themselves have said that they only do the tests at level 5 because that's where you can find all types of enemies to test the weapons, the missions are shorter, and that saves them more time.

The other day I shot a hunter point blank with the punisher shotgun and it lived requiring a second shot to kill. Am I crazy for thinking a pump action shotgun should be killing hunters in one hit nearly every time since if you see one it has twenty others with it?
I did a bot mission with randoms, two people in the squad were hiding and doing nothing while me and the party leader were trying to get rid of the gunship facility spawning 15 million gunships that were giving us a hard time, died a lot while these two were hiding and letting the gunships stack, insane after how after they were both kicked, we managed to destroy the gun facility and complete the mission. It was fucking awful how some people prioritize their life instead of the mission as a HELLDIVER. Literally accomplishing nothing and sitting around doing nothing.
I feel like the major order failing is a combination of a lot of things hitting at once.
There's the Sony shenanigans, the constant nerfs, enemy buffs, and it doesn't help that this MO involves the bots, which tend to be a torture to fight.
Bots are way more balanced than bugs rn. It’s been this way for a while. Bugs have more one shot potential yet people keep running with this for some reason

Tenderizer buff could be it getting hollow point rounds that cause massive wounds but don't penetrate medium armour because that's not how that works and the purifier needs more damage, the new smg is fine, and a bunch of others I could mention

The only nerf I could see happening is maybe the plasma punisher doing more AOE and less damage so the (buffed) purifier has a place in the meta

Valve (Steam) have just made a statement about country restriction. They said it wasn't them, it's Sony's decision.
The only reason we killed 2 billion bugs was cause botslayers don’t care and we’d fight bugs when needed. Bug slayers only fight bugs and will never fight bots. And they messed us up with the Sony controversy.
That’s not completely true. With the 2 billion bug major order it was still set that when 1 person killed a bug it counted for the entire team. So 1 bug turned into 4 bugs. They fixed that and now we have to actually kill 2 billion bots.

Those that have bought the game can still play it, there will just not be any new sales of the game in restricted countries. Sony and most other large publishers have done this for a LONG time. Why are people just now getting upset at this? This is nothing new and will not be walked-back like the new account-linking policy. Did you know Microsoft does this? why are you guys only getting upset at Sony for one or two games and not all publishers that do this?
That’s only relative to the previous player count. Theres still over 100k avg player count, which is huge. They still need to adjust the major orders based on player count though.

I personally don't understand the way they want things balanced as it is. The issue with ARs was pointed out, but it's not even only that: when you equip a support weapon, you want it to do things that your primary can't, right? Then if you're picking your favourite MG or Laser cannon, anti-materiel sniper rifle, you gotta get EATs on top of things, because you want to actually be able to deal with Titans, Dropships, Hulks, and not spend 10 minutes dealing with a lone Charger. And don't get me started on the Stalwart, which does but a slightly better job than your default AR. What's the point of it, past difficulty 3?
On 7+ difficulties, with those 3 stratagems missions, how can you deal with anything? And then, when you go meta, devs just nerf it (Dominator, Quasar). What did they expect?
Laser cannon and AMR can deal with Gunships, Hulks and even the Strider from the front, tanks only from the back. Why would you need EAT on top of that? IMHO this is a waste in the same build
@@TazYourSelf Gunships, not Dropships. Downing a gunship is quite the clamp on a bot counter-attack. Still, it's faster with EAT/Recoilless/Quasar, and speed is everything when dealing with bots: they're more about striking hard fast, whereas bugs are more about constant damage.
Striders are easy, right (and some primaries deal with them), but Hulks not that much from middle to close range (I happen to love the Laser cannon). Not saying it's impossible, but that having the adequate stratagem allows you to just gut the Hulks before they're a threat at all, before another thing puts pressure on you. With AMR/Laser cannon, you'll need more time.
And by nature, you'll need to have timers (affected by jammers, number of bigger targets/reinforcement) for factory striders and tanks.

But I love bringing my rail gun with a jet pack and then I usually bring eagle airstrikes or the orbital laser. (I have paired it with EATs, but found it’s not necessary if teammates bring said support weapons ⬇️⬇️
I’ve seen people use the laser cannon really well. Personally it’s not for me. Quasar cannon needs to go back to prenerf but it’s still usable. RR is in a good spot with the crouch reload. EATs are always phenomenal no matter the mission. AMR is in a pretty good spot if sniping is your thing…I’m not into it.
You’re right though. All of the machine guns are practically unusable unless you want to hate the game. The nerf to the arc thrower so it doesn’t stun hulks made it completely unusable on bots.
Quasar nerf was justified.
@@nehylen5738 okay so not being a dick- you need to get some more experience with the game because.. You 100% do not need EATS on top of amr, laser, heavy mg, AC, Railgun etc... Use rocket pods, RC strike, AC turret, 500kg, orbital strike, etc. they all work. You dont need to be shooting down Dropships (if you're not on defence missions), you NEED to be air striking the patrols they drop with, eagles, orbitals whatever you want (clusters are great for it).
Gunships on the otherhand are flawed by Laser Cannon or AC turret- problem solved.
Titans are special, if you're alone it'll be your 500kg's and good timing (theres guides for it). If in a squad bring 2 RC strikes, and 1 person with either EAT's or Rocket pods and thats plenty. You can also bring an AC turret or 500kgs for extra insurance but its not nessescary. Use teamwork and avoid patrols, skip difficult nests/bases or side objectives KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR COOLDOWNS and Dont engage things you arent ready to fight.
I want to re-iterate HULKS are very easy to deal with even if you only have a primary weapon and stun grenades. Stun it with a grenade and then run behind it and blow out its heatsink with your pirmary (scorcher works great) or set-up a freind to do it, takes like 5 seconds. You can also slow them by targeting one of their legs or disarm them by taregting their weapon-arm.
Bring a defender with a riotsheild and you are resistant to gunfire, effectively minimizing a large chunk of the bot roster.
The general balance is quite reasonable, you primary weapons handle most of the light to medium targets while your stratagems will help you with bigger enemies and larger packs. If they overtune primaries the game will become too easy- not saying buffs arent warranted, but dont make this a baby game please. You people have a history of being idiots and asking for idiot things, the eruptor nerf was YOUR OWN FAULT, because you idiots dont know what a ricochet even is.
I will agree patrols are a little funny right now but they're manageable, they're just a bit annoying in frequency hopefully its adjusted again.
Anyone else notice how much the progress we make over on the Automatons get reseted? Like I’ve seen about 3 planets about 33%-57% liberated. Next day I log on and it’s back down to 0%-1%. I’m like, wtf?
At this point what’s even the point in trying? The amount of Helldivers that died and the time spent focused on the planets and the progress gets reset every time. Kinda kills the game for me honestly.
As of late many players went back to bugs with the exception of the major order, during that time only a couple thousand players were playing bots compared to 100k on bugs, because there are so many players online the bot planets percentage values are up there with the bug planets. A couple thousand barely makes a dent in that
We need a training range so we can test out weapons and strats to get the feel of it before going into missions. Otherwise, we're stuck with a disadvantage in the middle of battle
I agree but also level 3 and 4 missions exist, i go there to test new weapons. Just play solo so u can test better

I don't see it that way, they are trying to get people to squad up! It's more fun in a squad! The game wasn't made to lone wolf through their worlds. Too many RUclipsrs making solo videos instead of fun squad videos where everyone contributes to the mission. The game is a squad based game.
Its a bug, and it shows whoever made the change did not play the game himself, otherwise it would have been obvious that the spawn interval is screwed up. Instead of having different interval between patrol spawn, regardless of player counts it will always spawn patrols as if there are 4 players, which has the shortest spawn interval of 2:45. If youve completed all objectives, side objectives, and nest/fabs this goes down to 12 seconda between spawn. Yes its fucked but the fact that this simple mistake made the final patch goes to show whoever in charge of this patch completely missed this super obvious error.
Another, and I think big reason, why we may not complete the order is that they nerfed a lot of weapons that we relied on such as the Europter and the Quasar, along with other weapons. While the Punisher Plasma got a buff, not everyone is into using such weapons and like kinetic weapons more. They really need to buff the weapons so enemies don't feel like bullet sponges, plus the amount of enemies that spawn can get ridiculous, especially when a patrol comes in and summons reinforcements while you're already trying to fend off the last reinforcements from the last patrol.
I played one easy mission with the machine gun and completed the personal order. Easy missions are for completing most personal orders.
Seems like the CEO finally caught up to the fact that the ARs ingame are so misrepresented its tragicomical, behaving more like SMGs than ARs. For proper immersion and fun ARs should naturally deliver more dmg pr shot and DPS than SMGs (as the CEO himself says, we're talking about guns that produce ~2,000 Joules of muzzle energy, compared to on average 500 Joules of pistol caliber weapons), being actual std service combat rifles, whilst SMGs on the other should be more niche weapons for use with other equipment like for example shields etc. Hopefully the CEO's comments means this will soon be addressed.

Bots spawn less numbers in a mission, are harder to kill, we’ve had several nerfs to the best guns for killing bots such as damage decreases mag reductions, and longer cool down times for support weapons.
How did they think this was going to go?

In my opinion, the AR-23P/ Liberator Penetrator needs the most buffing out the entire current assault rifles.
It doing 15 less damage than the base AR-23/ Liberator kinda doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when you think about it
I dont want my primary to be able to kill chargers/hulks and up. But it NEEDS to be good at killing everything else.
I feel like they are giving us major order goals based strictly on what player pops used to be, and aren't really sure how to adjust the numbers as the pop shrinks. So we're just getting a bunch of orders we can't do. Doesn't help no one likes fighting bots so I felt like this was going fail from the start.

Light armor penetration should be for smgs and pistols. ARs should start at the lower end of medium penetration and snipers should start at the higher end of medium penetration
There's also the fact that people are not that excited to play the game in general because the devs seem hell-bent on making the game as unfun as possible

The assault rifle problem is extra goofy when you consider that the best AR currently in the game is a DMR that wasn't good enough to be a DMR and got changed to an AR and instantly made every other AR option look like a complete joke. A half-assed, barely good enough DMR is better than EVERY OTHER AR AVAILABLE at the same ranges, in a role that it wasn't even originally designed for. And then they put out a warbond with a new AR that's worse than the default starter AR in every way _after_ having already added the DMR/AR that outclasses it exponentially. What's the point of ever using any AR that's _as good as_ or, god forbid, _worse than_ the Liberator when the other one (that I can't remember the name of right now) already exists with double the armor pen, twice the range and the exact same ergonomics?
Honestly, I wanted fashion to matter as well but with the blood and oil now covering us from head to toe, it hardly matters anymore. We only see it when we start the mission.
Go to the armor section and swap your helmet away then back and it cleans you

I just don't get why they put the flavor text with the Tenderizer saying it's high caliber and higher damage yet it has the same damage yet less of everything.. That not just something to fix, it's just a bad release. some AR's were recently buffed but that wasn't a surprise to them haha
The ARs should be the standard of our fighting force, our jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none, not an almost forgotten weapon class because there are simply better weapons for any situation than them

I play casually (lvl40ish). I used to play on difficulty 7 on bots but I played some 5 this weekend to have "relaxing fun time" with different loadouts since the eruptor is dead. It felt like the game turned into a running simulator.

Uhhh..not at all. Have you seen what’s going on at Xbox and Nintendo wouldn’t take a game like HellDivers. That whole account linking shit was so overblown it’s insane. The only people that had the right to complain were the people in countries who couldn’t play due to those changes. Other than that it was just the PC community crying and complaining like usual.

Don't get me wrong, the whole "I don't want to make yet another account to play 1 or 2 games" is also a part of it, just like with Uplay, Origin (or whatever they call it nowadays) and other platforms / launchers out there but this whole list of SONY incidents sure does not help. Also new PSN accounts in the UK apparently require age verification where you have to either scan your face or send them your ID / drivers license from what I've gathered.
Also the fact that you WILL require a PSN account eventually was not communicated to people well enough I'd say, about the only indication of this after it was disabled was the small yellow box on the side of the Steam store page which to me personally just feels exactly like small print on official documents. People WILL miss it which just makes it feel like a bait-and-switch when it does eventually get enforced.
Considering all this, I see why many people would be hesitant at the very least to make a PSN account. I don't really mind (although I would if they required my face or ID as they apparently do in the UK to verify your age), I already made one and linked it but I see why some don't want to.
My guess for the illuminate getting added is around the 6 month mark.

I think this is more to the enemies being made harder to kill. People focus so much on the weapons nerfs, but nobody talks about the spawn rates, how they take less damage, make more damage to the player, harder to stagger,... So no matter which weapon you use, you need to do more damage to buffed enemies now.
I remember wiping bile spewers with stalwart, now I need a machine gun for them.
I think it’s really fun and like that there is no one correct weapon to use in all scenarios - I’m switching and experimenting a lot and I think that variety is part of the fun

2 billion bugs (Even without the glitch in the counting system) was more likely as each player can score at least 400 bugs a game. While you get half that or less fighting the bots. 1 Billion bots was far more achievable with the declining playerbase
We need color customization. Imagine a helldiver in jet black wrecking bots.
If that's a big demand, I'd be fine with them just limiting their color pallet to a handful of primary colors, e.g. black, white, olive, blue, brown.

Primaries are primaries for a reason. They could simply buff up the default AR to medium AP, buff the Penetrator to 60 damage, or allow us to buy or mod in AP rounds, and the problem would be mostly solved.
I'd also like to see a medium machine gun with some AP capability, something like a 240 or M60 that reloads like a Stalwart.
They did allude to the illuminate before now, but it was way less direct. In one of the first news videos. They mention illuminate sightings in the news ticker scrolling across the bottom. There may have been small details like this elsewhere, but they were at least mentioned as early as the third week of release.
Never understood how people think automaton is harder than terminid. Lv150, went from only terminid, mixed, to only automaton with terminid for major orders

Does anyone else experiencing a lot of bugs ? Reinforcing doesnt work sometimes(the most annoying), shuttle just never landing, yellow beacon sometimes can't be opened or nothing inside
Those are known bugs. If you're on steam try verifying game files if you haven't. might help a bit

It would be nice to have a few more medium penetrating assault rifles to deal with hive guards and bile spewers and to help take down devastators and stuff, I do still enjoy using light armor penetrating weapons though so we will see how it all plays out, I have a lot of faith in the future of this game!
CORRECTION on 6:00 the dev team DID state that the primary weapon should suck, they danced around it but they stated that CLEARLY, and THAT is why people believe it.
It would also be super cool that if you shoot down a drop ship it actually kills and damages things, especially when it explodes on them. It's so unrewarding to shoot them down only for the bots to be 100% fine.
I think if we fail the current order, we will still get the new stratagem. But in the case of other orders to receive stratagems, we will not receive mines for free use for a short time.

As far as assault rifles and armour penetration, I feel that instead of making more weapons have medium pen, the armour penetration system in general could use a revisit, in terms of making them a little less all-or-nothing as far as effectiveness. You should still be able to do *something* to medium armour with light penetrating weapons, whether that's by being able to wear down the armour protection with enough shots, or by having another stage of partial penetration that reduces damage further than the current white hitmarker protection, before it deflects off entirely on heavier armour.
Honestly some people dc for objectives bc the benefits reward of warbonds isn’t enough. We don’t need them imo they need to up the price for things and also up the amount we can hold.
We don’t need to buff new weapons. The way buffs need to happen is start at the bottom of older weapons. Also stop messing with damage and mess with other stats to change how it feel. Easy example is with the purifier just change how fast it shoot by the charge. If that doesn’t work then up the dmg by 5-10

Whoever is in charge of the balancing team needs to re-learn the definition of Balancing because each new balancing update, they’re doing everything but balancing. It feels like every single primary weapon except maybe two are still useful. Oh, and can we have more light-armor penetrating weapons?

An easy aid for the fashion issues is something similar to Destiny 2's paints. You can paint all your armors the same color scheme, so it doesnt matter if you have this weird hive looking armor and some more normal ones if you can just paint it all New Age Black Armory and it still looks good.

When we first got the game, when the guns were good, the devs told us that joel would make it harder, but in reality the balance team just makes the game “harder” by just nerfing ANYTHING good

Honestly assault rifles are in a pretty good state, bots are fine if you hit the weak points on devastators, though medium armor bugs are kinda hell I'll agree, no real consistent way to kill them with pin point fire, even the bile spitter sacs take multiple magazines to kill
If base liberator hit for 70 like the defender, the rest of the assault rifles would be way better, with just that higher baseline alone
So, we're struggling to complete major objectives now. Almost as if cutting off access to a number of countries sparking continued outrage actually has an impact.

I don’t think they will drop the new faction until steam allows the game to be purchased in all countries it originally launched with. That way hype can be maximized and keep a good press cycle
They need to balance difficulty and Major Orders with the change to players. Constantly losing progress and failing order after order is only going to make player frustration increase beyond what it already is. Adding ANOTHER faction when all we're doing is losing would backfire horribly. The hardcore players would stay, but everyone else would quit.
The helldivers community's goal at this point is to never unlock the AT mines istg. Both times, there's a significant number of people just doing bug missions while the current major order involved fighting automatons to get AT mines
Strange how the last MO that gave us the crappy rocket stratagem we were able to test/friendly fire at each other before winning it. With the anti tank mine we don’t get to test them and If we loose we might not acquire them. Does this mean they may not be ready until an update??

I honestly stopped playing aftwr the last update. It one of my favorite games of all times but i just dont feel all the nerfs they frustrate me more than anything
I think the last thing we need to be doing is rushing Arrowhead into more unbaked updates... can we as the community give them some damn time to recoup and get the game as is in order? Then we can move onto more additions once our game has a more solid footing?
My concern re: the Illuminate- will people even play them? People don’t like the bots, are they going to like an even more difficult enemy? I used to play against bugs only, now I enjoy the bots (although the patrol spawn is whack) so I’m looking forward to the illuminate- I’m just very curious how to see how they are received..
That major order is destined to fail:
1. fixed number bug on eliminated enemies.
2. order is against bots, that do not spawn in as big of a number as bugs.
3. timing is after sony drama so not every player is in the game, some are still waiting for restriction to be lifted.
4. also new warbond bummed some people, so they are not in the very good mood about playing.
even one of those would be enough to make one nervous about being able to finish order in time, but there's at least 4 of them active at the same time

They definitely need to stop nerfing every single gun that is good and they need to add new enemies. This game is starting to get old. They need newer maps and in the superstore to keep adding new armor sets
They can take their time releasing the Illuminate. We don't even have enough players to bust out the current MO or the last MO either. If they add a 3rd front line, that will divide our forces even more.

You can kill brood commanders with any gun their armor falls apart to any caliber
When they start giving us bonuses for objectives or properly buff the guns so half dont suck ill play again. Fire stoems conviniently only fully making all objective areas unwalkable, being rushed by 50 heavies all the time at difficulty 7 and sometimes not even being able to find super samples, and constant rare samples and req slips when im trying to get super credits is killing the fun for me
They need to fix the damn eruptor. It went from a top tier weapon that could one shot chargers to not even one shotting Striders anymore. Its useless now. Might as well bring the anti material rifle since it can two shot hulk bruisers.

I hope the "No update soon" does not aply to performance/maintenance patches. all this 300, 301, 302 and 303 patches have dropped the performance of the game quite a lot.
What they should do with the enemie types is make "big enemies" (chargers titans, hulks, tanks, ATATs) more rare to see with a lot more HP so they feel like "boss" or mini boss. That way you still have the mobs a the medium size enemies being spammed but more killable with primary/secondary weapons.
The new faction is being teased already no? unless its a new bot enemy but ive noticed on bot maps since the new major order that there are invisible ships in the sky on some missions i wonder if its these predator like new faction? makes sense to me especially when the ships are invisible like predators can so maybe their already watching us?🤔
us failing the major order is due to most of the players refunding the game and not being able to rebuy it because they're still being restricted in their country because of sony
it's very unlikely for the illuminates to come soon (we barely got some models with very absic animations, and that's leak so i'ts very early stage), but that's honestly a good point...they need to make the game more stable, and fun, by learning on the past 2 months mistake BEFORE been able to add another faction that seem even harder than bot, that are already under-played due to the unbalance with terminids, by been constantly buff instead of nerf...
How does your math work for the major order fail? We started with 4 days, the screenshot shows 3 days remaining, so 25% through, and progress at 36%, so over a third through. At that rate we should be done with a day spare.
Logging in as of posting this comment, we are at 2 days 6 hours remaining and are now at 48.7%, so closer to 50% of the way through both event time and major order completion, but still on track for completion. Am I missing something in the equation?
