I just inherited my late sister's Dyson Cinetic and it is much lighter than the Kirby I've been using for 30+ years. I love my Kirby, but at age 72 I needed something that didn't weigh as much and the Dyson is MUCH lighter than a Kirby. Thanks for the review, I didn't get the operator's manual so I needed some basic operating instructions.
What's your opinion on how long the HEPA filters last? Over here in the states I understand we have a different motor here. I have found about a year both of those filters need to be changed. Also here and I believe this is only to the u.s. market the motor seem to go bad I believe this is because there's no pre motor filter and the US models don't make as much power so the Cyclones aren't as effective as they need to be.
I believe they are supposed to last the life of the cleaner providing you don't go over the max fill line and only pick up the sort of dust Dyson say you should, which of course would not happen in the average home. I prefer to have a pre motor filter than non at all.
Performance Reviews I just got a used dyson cinetic big ball. And it’s very scratched and scuffed, also coated in dust, so I can tell it’s not sealed. But as much use and abuse its had, the suction is still strong. So I do think the technology works. and there’s a video on my channel of it, if anyone would like to check it out
The Cinetic Balls are essentially useless. A cyclonic separator of a feasible size/airflow pressure differential for a vacuum cleaner cannot separate fine enough dirt to not allow motor-damaging dirt into the motor. Additionally, a bagless vacuum cleaner is never treated as well as an industrial cyclonic separator, so due to abuse, more dirt gets through it. Without a pre-motor filter, these units are useless. They kill motors far too much.
I think the 'tank' of the Dysons gets cloudy because it is picking up sand, and the sand is lightly 'sand-blasting' the plastic. I bet you could buff it out, but it would almost certainly get cloudy again.
This is getting stupid what does it matter what dB nose level it there's far to many regulations I'm glad I kept my noisy old Hoover, thanks for the demo.
Thats a clear difference between Americans and Europeans when it comes to government regulation. Many Americans see regulating the noise of vacuums cleaners as a ridiculous use of government. Its a large reason more innovation comes out of the US than the EU.
I just unboxed my Cinetic Big Ball upright Animal/Allergy - Nickel. It came with quite a few tools and one of them, some sort of fiber dusting tool came apart as I was unpacking it and I can't figure out how to fix it. I'm a first time Dyson buyer and if I'd known this had been discontinued, I'd not have bought it. Can you do a feature of all the tools and how to install and remove? Also, I have quite a few cramped quarters and would like to see a demo of how to remove the plastic tool from the hose and use the attachments without the rigid fixture. Lastly, mine did not come with an adjustable slide control on the cleaner head. Is that a mistake or is what I have different than the one you demonstrate here? I'd like to thank you for your video of unboxing and setting up the vacuum - otherwise I might have sent it back. My biggest complaint is the instruction manual - very small print and each part needs to be labeled with a better description of how to install and remove. It was after hours for tech support so I managed with you help! Thank you again! I adopt stray animals on a regular basis so I am anxious to see how this helps!
I have this cleaner. I love the cinetic technology but this one is very heavy to push. Dyson are still selling this on their website as @ 30th March 2018.
Hi Roger, I like your demo on this Dyson and see how they work but for some reason I don't have a drive too want one. Do you think I'm missing out on something ? I am into the Sebo,Miele,Vorwerk and vintage Hoover. BTW. I did ask you a question on the front sponge wheel on the new Shark Rocket if it gets a lot of stuff wrapped around it... Thoughts??
You're probably not missing out, but have a play with some Dysons in a store and see if you like them. I have never had problems with stuff getting wrapped around the front roller of a Shark, but there is a row of plastic teeth behind it that must keep it clean.
Hi, Mr Ibaisaic I like your videos. I'm from Australia and looking at buying a Vorwerk German made vacuum. Do you know this brand and do you recommend. It's going to cost around 3k.
I’ve always wondered if storing the wand inside the hose would make it dusty and dirty. After all, that lots of dirt and hair and dust and grime pass through the hose itself, and there must be some residue left on the inside lining of the hose. Do Dyson users find the wand gets dirty because of this design?
Hello , I have this vac and wondered why it's fairly difficult to move round on hard floor/vinyl. I turn the brush rotation off . Do I need to adjust something else ?
pugso59 Wilson it Would make sense as a filter eventually gets clogged reducing airflow and suction over time, some people forget to wash the filters causing a drop off in performance so if you can make a vacuum like this where the cyclones are as effective as a pre filter why not
But quite a few videos on RUclips show that the Cinetic cyclones do let dust through and eventually clog the expensive post motor HEPA filters. I prefer to have a pre motor filter that needs washing.
ibaisaic Me too. But I wouldn't be surprised if mr Dyson doesn't end up making cinetic standard. So that when the post motor filter does clog up people will just go out and buy a new filter.
Just like they had to with Fantom vacuums in the 90s, which had no pre-motor filter, and this ensured the dust passed through the motor, and soiled the exhaust filter - a filter which was not washable and cost $70 so I understand. All Fantom saw was $$$$$ by making the post motor filter not washable, and ensuring that it clogged up with dust from having no pre-motor filter. They really did milk the Americans for every dollar they could screw out of them.
Not my favourite of Mr Dysons balls. I wonder if that is the last of the Cinetic uprights or will there be a Big Ball 2? There will probably be a Small ball 2 shortly. What a load of Balls!
Hello Roger you should be a presenter on QVC assembling hoovers and Demonstrations you should bring Daisy to the studio I have a hoover 638 with cleaning tools my mother has a dyson ball similar to this video
I did film that part but left it out. I had only used the cleaner for a month and kept under the max fill line and there was no visible dust before or after the filter apart from a little carbon dust.
Probably because the cinetic cyclones weren't as effective at filtering very fine dust which ended up getting into the motors. The upright is discontinued, but possibly because it was too noisy for the latest EU regulations. I heard that the latest Cinetic Ball cylinder machine is discontinued now.
I also think it's due to the new EU laws. Otherwise the number of cyclones in the Cinetic machines I think it would be sufficient to separate even the finest of particles.
have purchased over 5 different Dyson vacuums in all of my years ( some of the purchases were as gifts to family and friends ). Now, for first the time; I am having a problem with my current Dyson V8 ABSOLUTE. It now only runs for less 4.25 minutes in MAX ( it is still under warranty; date of purchase 13September2017 ). I keep my vacuums clean. I asked Dyson to just exchange it and if needed I would pay shipping. But, my reply from Dyson was NO. Therefore, I will clearly state this: DO NOT PURCHASE ANY DYSON PRODUCT. OH YEA !
It is only made to run up to 7 minutes in Max mode. Just take it into the service center and say the battery has gone bad they will replace it for you.
In the US the standard power outlet is limited to 1500 watts or 12 amps. So via building and electrical code, the US system limits the vacuum you can buy as well.
@@linksmith1057 Not the same thing at all. Those are startdardized physical limitations on outlets, not baseless limitations imposed on the manufacture
In the US, oddly, this vacuum does not have adjustable gates on the front of the floor nozzle, which makes it basically useless on long pile carpet that's more common here in the states. I think Dyson is trolling us.
Hi Roger, another great video. A couple of questions ... 1) Did you notice the exhaust vent on this machine getting very hot, very quickly? Mine does and I’m not sure if this is normal. 2) You note in the comments that the post motor filter can become clogged with dust. Would this not damage the motor? I notice when emptying my machine dust can get in the central column of the cyclone, which leads directly to the motor I believe. You made a good point about the suction relief valve. For some reason, the Cinetic Big Ball can’t breath through its ears and the valve is always kicking in. Do you find this happens on the other Ball cleaners such as the new Animal 2? Final question. Have you ever used a Dyson DC55 - now known as the Dyson Ball on Dyson.co.uk and how is this different to the Cinetic Big Ball other than the Cinetic technology. Thanks in advance ☺️
There is supposed to be constant suction running through do the cinetic cyclones to work properly. If there was less suction than is required to run, dust would be able to go through the cyclones because the sufficient amount of air going through isn't enough to fling the dust to the walls of the cyclones and then falling into the bin. That's why if there's even a slight decrease in suction, the pressure relief valve will open to maintain proper cyclone operation. Hope that helps clarify things
