Hi Took! I’ve just found your channel thanks to a You Tube recommendation and subscribed. Your Ephemera Folios are wonderful! Thank you for the shout out. Hugs to you! ❤️
You are the best, thank YOU! for all the inspirations and fun you put on your channel every day. I watched you every day but hesitate to comment because I don't want to say something wrong. lol. A big hug to you too and thank you for a thousand times to subscribe to my channel.
I just accidentally found you. Thank you for the lesson in ephemera album, that whole hinge idea is a go for me. Don't have many ephemera but I'm building and will be nice to create the album. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Your very positive. Don't overdo your days.
Thanks for sharing your take on Gayle's Emphemera Book. They turned out really nice. I don't have any Manila folders so I'm just using food boxes with a similar weight to make mine. I'm also going to sew mine because I couldn't find a glue to hold the page protectors or parchment paper. PVA glue will hold it long enough to sew it in place, but that's all. Thank you again for sharing your process.
I have heard of the Ephemera Journals, but haven't saw any until yours. I have been trying to find a way of keeping my ephemera and I have everything at hand to make it, even the plastic file sheets. I am excited about it and look forward to makeing it. Thank you for sharing!.
I just found your channel and really happy I did! I have wanted to create an ephemera storage book and I like your idea of using page protectors instead of vellum. Thank you so much for sharing and I am definitely going to subscribe to your channel. You are so easy to listen to and you have a very calming voice. 🌸😊🌸
Thank you so much, if you have time check out the video flip through the folios. They are most update versions and a lot that I change and adapt. xoxox
I love your book, at first I didn’t understand the hinge thing when you were showing the file folders but once you started putting it together then I got it. You explain very well, it’s just me, I just keep watching all these videos yet I’ve never made a journal yet, I think my hobby is just watching the videos. I think I found you through Gayle.
Hahahha, I dont know what they are call, just thought it look like a door hinge so I called hinge too. You should start to make jj. It’s so relax and fun. It’s a therapy to everything except book shopaholic. Lol.
You calling it a hinge was correct, I just wasn’t quite sure how it was going to work until I saw you put it together, very ingenious. I’ve seen people do something similar with double-sided tape only it’s in accordion folds. I’m going to start, I’m trying to get caught up on some other crafts plus the fun is in the watching videos and buying stuff!
Cool! I view Gayles channel regularly....I’ve heard your name mention several times and thought I’d view your channel...very happy that I did...enjoyed your tutorial.....😻
I just love how you changed Gayle's ephemera albums! I have been looking at ways to make some and I really do like your version! Thank you for sharing!
@@tookscrafttable1328 hi took , alanna , don't no what iv done wrong , making these books , had no.problem making everything but putting in the pages , come across a problem , 3 inches won't fit all 12 pages , iv had to cramp in the 4 in between other pages.i kinder made a photo album out of that 1st one Next 3 are for ephemera , so the 1st page n last page have to be trimmed at the bottom n you put 1st page in around the other way I'll do it all again but hope 12 pages fit into 3 inch spine tysm xxxx
I made mine similar to yours, I use The Project Life Page protectors for mine, i love them because they have different size pockets and I sewed them on also because my glue didn't work either lol. Thanks for sharing, they came out Beautiful 🌹
MyCraftingAddiction The Project Life Page protectors would be perfect. I love mine a lot and still use them all the time. I made a smaller version for my mobile folio, lol. I go to craft with a group of friend in my local area once/ month. We are taking a winter break now and will resume in Spring. It’s work so well.
Love your ephemera folio!!! It’s gorgeous!!! I’ve wanted to try to make one...I’ll try using your method. Lovely, lovely, and lovely!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful project with us!
I am so glad to see this! I have just started junk journaling and need to be organized like Gayle too! These turned out beautifully!!! Thank you for sharing, Debbie
This is fabulous!!! I wish I had a sturdier cover on the one I made. I’ve been thinking about revisiting. Thank you for the inspiration. Look after yourself!!! Sending healing vibes your way!!! Hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
Sharon Tilyard It looks nice on the book shelf with hard cover. Thank you for the healing vibes. I feel much better everyday. I am so happy to have a wonderful community who send all kind supports when you really need it. Big hug.
I bet it looks gorgeous on the bookshelf!!! I’m a huge fan of those papers (which really caught my eye while watching). I e been working with them myself recently!!! They send me to my ‘happy place’ so the idea of a book of my own from this paper is super exciting!!! So glad to hear you’re feeling better and continue to improve!!! Hope you bounce back in no time!!! Big hugs!!! 🌷💜
Oh My Stars what a great idea!!!! ♥️ I have been hanging on to a box of these that I just couldn't get rid of! Thanks much, my hubby will Thank you for helping me reduce my stash!!!☺
Nice. Really great idea. Well done. I just couldn’t figure out how you fit 12 pages in only 3 inch space. Your hinge looks like 1/2 inch wide, and the end 1/4 inch. But those measures would be impossible for 12 pages in only a 3 inch space. At 1/4 inch each works out to 13 pages IF you add that last one and turn it around because of the spine edge. 😂🤣 Any way. I just can’t quite grasp the math part, but I clearly see the technique. 🙏🏻 😊 thank you.
I just finished my first ephemera folder too. I used page protectors as well and sewed them in. Mine is not near as pretty as yours Took. Mine does not have near as many pages either. I made several boo boos but I learned a lot, and fine tuned my technique as I went along, I would love to see yours with the ephemera placed inside.
PS: I forgot to say, I think adding the tabs is a really good idea. Your papers are so beautiful, and your end product is so lovely. That's one thing I have to keep reminding myself, that's it's all right to make beautiful projects for yourself and not just use what's easily on hand. Blue is my favorite color, and I don't know if you have an Etsy shop, but I know these would sell out quickly.
Oh, my gosh!! I love the album you made!! The patterns look really great. You did an excellent job on creating it. I’m not certain what weight vellum Gayle used, but there is a heavier weight one if needed, although it is less translucent & more opaque. I think the protector sleeve material is even a better solution. Where is the Asian style paper from, please? Thank you for sharing how you created this lovely ephemera holder!!🧡 Be well, from Terry in Texas 🧡 (Just subbed :)
Great tutorial, Took! Beautiful ephemera folios and unique construction. Now that you have had some time to use your own folio, anything that you would change? I want to make one, but can't decide if this type of construction or a more traditional signature would be sturdier. TFS the inspiration and creativity!
Gail Tuthill I still use and love the folio, the only thing I would change is the pockets to too deep, and the size, I tent to add to much fussy cuts, lol It’s too heavy to lift with one hand. I made a smaller one and use it for my travel. Also maybe keep the background paper plain or not too busy, it will look better when the fussy cut fill up.
Hi, new subbie. Your project turned out beautifully. Thanks for the hints of working w/ the sharp edges of acetate. I have a lot of those plastic binders, but not in pretty blue like yours. Hope you are continuing to heal from surgery. Loved what you said about missing your table. Cheers, Patricia
Awe! I was so excited to see you subscribed to my channel. You are the very early RUclipsr I subscribed and learned how to on many things. Thank you so much for your comment. It meant a lot for someone who just start out like me.
Hello Took :) Your albums turned out lovely :) I sewed my album pages too, I think that makes them much stronger :) The papers you used are so pretty :) tfs, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi Amy, thank you so much for your support on my channel. The paper I used was from Antiquepaperie on Etsy. She has so many beautiful designs to choose from. If you like to share your creation you can tag me in my ig. Hope your weekend going well and create lots of fun stuff.
Great job! I’ve been trying to work out how to use document protectors because I have a lot of them. You’ve given me some great ideas. Thanks for sharing!
My mistake was I made the pockets too deep and it's hard to grab small fussy cuts. If you are trying one you can adjust the width according to the size of your stickers or fussy cutout.
Hi Took, I like this system for ephemera. How is it holding up for you? I have some supplies from a thrift store I can use for this that would work wonderfully.
Beautiful! I just made my first one using this file folder method. Do you have any issues with the pages lifting from the spine where you hinge them? Any tips if so? I used tombow permanent glue tape and taped directly to a spine id reinforced with tuck tape and am having some trouble ...maybe too shiny to grab well? Thanks for your excellent videos!
I don't have any issues with the hinge came off at all. And they are packed with fussy cuts and die cuts, lol. I never trust tape for my journal. I don't use them at all. Can you try to glue them back with glue? if you could get your hands on beacon glue (3 in 1 or fabrictag) for my personal opinion, I like this hinge more than sew in page. I lay down so nice and flat. Hope this help.
It does! Thanks so much for your quick reply! I do have some other glue I can work with. I mostly use glue tape to prevent warping when I’m gluing paper together. I will take your advice. Have you ever tried sewing in the hinged pieces?
With this technique I like to glue them down but I have another version that I sew them directly to spine. But the don't lay-down as flat as this version.
I am working on a book for ephemera from Gayle’s tutorial. I like your idea of the pocket cover being sheet protectors. The kind you are using seems to be a great option. I just have my cover created for now. May use your idea for the pockets. Gayle made one with sheet protectors but they were both sides of the protector glued to one side of the book. Let me know what you think of yours when it’s completed and you begin to use it. Thanks.
pam bradshaw I made one with vellum pockets and it already teared so I re- do with the clear protector. The only thing I would change is not make pocket too deep. My is 3” so make it 2.” Might be easier to store the smaller fussy cut. Otherwise I really like them.
The reason why I love creating by myself and not on camera because I dont have to worry how people will judge my work, my room and how messy and disorganize my style is. But on the other hand I like to share with pp. who I care just incase my work, process can be any help or inspire them. If ppl. who’s looking for a perfect vdo, clean and organized crafter to watch, please slide your screen to the next channel, no one makes you watch. Hope you find someone that you enjoy and have no flaws. Life is too short to be a nit and pick on other ppl. Happy crating! If you can ever find one.
I love the Golden books from that era. The thick pages and beautifully colored pictures have a place in my heart.
Thank you for stopping and glad you enjoy this share.

Loved the ephemera books. Especially like the use of the blue protectors. They will look heresy and work great. They come in so many colors. Great job
