The wiper/washer unit appears to be identical to my 67 LeMans. Now I know how to fix mine!! Really excited to see what your next project will be. You can be sure, I'll be watching. Thank you so much for what you've done for us DIY guys. Your one of a kind and greatly appreciated.
Great video, very good getting the camera angles for us to see, not nearly as easy as you make it look. I always wondered how the washer pump worked, never had one that worked
@@davidbisnette7673 I don’t have one that I share anymore. it was getting loads of spam and stopped working right I could not send nor receive some messages.
I love the pumpkin! I cant wait to see what you choose to work on next. Hell i'd watch you work on building a fire lol. You are meant to make how to videos. I may not need to know everything about a firebird, but i still enjoy watching it! Thanks for making them!😊
Had a friend rebuild my pump years ago, I think I've used it maybe twice since then. When I had a new windshield installed back in 2019, I installed new blades. Very hard to find! I did find them at Autozone, but I had to buy a longer set, & cut them down. GREAT video, thanks for sharing!
As always GREAT JOB, , and the level of detail, LUV IT !!!! . That being said, I'm surprised you didn't install the rubber Weatherstriping on the Cowl/Hood. . lol
Need to do a Bandit Trans _Am next John that would make some cool videos. I actually bought a new one in 1977 but its been long gone . Keep up the good work, I wish I was as good as you on bodywork ...
I am open to any generation of bird. I have owned all of them at some point and restored the first three generations. 1969 is my favorite year then it’s a toss up 1989 GTA black with tan interior, 1977 special black and gold edition, or 1999 30th anniversary. So someday when I hit the lottery I think I should just get them all. 😎
Great Video again. All useful information. I took all of your Great Pumpkin videos made a general to do list on my Firebird project, then made a parts list of the items that my car needed from the to do list. Thanks for making such great videos. FYI I found summit carries almost all of the AMD parts I needed for my Firebird in Ohio. This is a short 4 hour drive for me so I saved a ton in shipping.
Usually when I do these I replace the whole unit because most of the time the bearings in the motor or shot and the brushes are almost gone on the Armature. also the control arms that go to the wipers I disassemble and relube even if they have nylon. Also the wiper squirter nozzles I take out and clean with small orifice bits. Sometime the old hoses breakdown in the inside that goes to the nozzles stops them up where they do not squirt properly, or when people pour washer fluid into reservoir they will get dirt and debris inside the reservoir which goes to the nozzles. Some reservoirs have screens on the pickup some do not.
Thanks for creating these videos, I have learned so much. I feel like I could do this in my garage now. Have you ever restored a 2 gen firebird? I am not a huge fan of the 1974-76 front ends and was wondering what it takes to replace with a 1970-73 front bumper?
For the most part it is a bolt on mod, I swapped over a 1979 Firebird to the 1973 front bumper and 1973 formula hood. That’s was over 20 years ago but I don’t remember having any issues.
Great content for a topic that doesn’t get any coverage. The wiper transmission (linkage) for My 67 Camaro is seized up and I have added multiple penetrating products to the spline on the passenger side , but nothing has freed it up. Do you know where I could secure a good used one?
Good point, besides Facebook market place and eBay I don’t know of any good resources, if I have an extra I would Just send it to you. I will keep an eye out for a spare
Jon, what's the trick to removing the wiper arms? Seems you need at least 3 hands and a screwdriver for the tab. I can't get any leverage to pull it up off the splines. Thanks!
If the paint is bad and need redone I use a open end of a combination wrench. I did it in the tear down video of this car. They make a tool for removing the arms www.camarocentral.com/Wiper_Arm_Removal_Tool_p/win-75.htm
WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO SPECIFY WHICH OF THE THREE WIRES FOR THE WIPER MOTOR IS POSITIVE. i KNOW YOU HAVE TWO GROUNDS AND ONE POSITIVE. THE ISSUE I HAVE WITH MY CAR IS ALL THREE WIRES ARE INDIVIDUAL AND NOT IN A 2 WIRE CONNECTOR. NEED TO KNOW WHICH WIRE IS POSITIVE AND ON WHICH PIN DOES THE POSITIVE CONNECT TO. Thanks
I didn’t do a video on the front or rear glass install. I was attempting to get it done for the trans am nationals. Unfortunately I didn’t make it. 🙁 I used the butyl rubber seal for this car.

Hey that’s cool! 😎 you know cool you watch the VVG 🤣
I'm surprised you didn't fill the reservoir with mountain dew!
I actually thought about it. Well a little orange food coloring and water in a Mountain Dew can. Decided it might stain it instead.

Very confident it’s the same, glad to help.
Great tips on fixing that wiper motor and GROUND. Little things like cleaning that can be frustrating when troubleshooting.👍
Had that ground kick my butt years ago.
Every time I watch I learn something need. Thanks for raising my level of knowledge on these cars!
That was the goal share what I have learned playing cars. I am glad it’s working.

I wanted to get a washer system working on a car that I built. I don’t normally mess with them. I doubt it will ever get used but cool that it works
