- Hear this dragster engine roar! At a Father's Day car show. It's get louder towards the end when they unhooked some stuff from the engine.

Those old-style dragsters were soooo dangerous. The driver sits directly over the transmission and the differential, and just a few feet behind the engine, with no protection. What could possibly go wrong? This is precisely why Don Garlits pioneered the rear-engine dragster - all of the dangerous stuff is well behind the driver.
Dig the cackling sound once they switched from Alky to to Nitro! ........ Kind of sort of sounds like my Shovelhead Harley when I first fire it up in the morning. 😉
How long should that engine run with no cooling ?

The one kid with the blue shirt probably pissed himself when they cracked the throttle on nitro lol he got up and left

This is the first of these cackle videos that I've seen where the engine guy isn't 150lbs overweight and can barely walk. It is strange that the guy sitting in the seat rarely works the throttle.
Dave if i may, @ this stage of the tuners job, the guy in the cage is soley responsible to hold the brake at any cost. Thank You!!
Ok so I don't mean to be Debbie downer but it's not the loudest blown hemi out there . Also how is it that you can switch from alcohol to nitro without doing anything ? I must have missed something because it's about as real as Mad Max or road warrior turning his blower on and off with a 2 speed rear end switch. Lol
You did miss it. The engine guy, turned a valve at the fuel pump at the front of the engine at 2:54 then he disconnected the alcohol line at the rear of the injector hat. That's when the tone really changed.
@@davidkeeton6716 yeah maing, i am with you on that one. Did you notice the crowd lerned real quick? 'Bout the 3rd time the tuner reached for the hat, to have thier ears plugged. When the last of th liquor left th rail, my bones instictively started to shake! Like Mr. Peabody had me in the way back machine. Forreal LOVED it.

The fuel cools it alcohol will frost it up
As oil supplies dwindle and dried up there won't be any fuels left to waste on motorsports so all these NHRA events will all die! The good oll' days are over!
nope we got electric dragsters now. we can run them in downtown and only hear tires screeching.
