Engine builder: I know you want to keep that thing alive and monitor every second of this run but get the hell out of the way and let us watch and listen. I didn't come here to see you.
The Olde Timer dragster was built in 1965 by the Woody Gilmore’s famed Race Car Engineering, the home of the fastest dragsters in the country in the 60’s.
I'd love to see that too. But NHRA has so many rules now that those cars as they are wouldn't be allowed on the track and the owners wouldn't want to spend the money.
I bet 99% of your viewers don't recognize your avatar.........I have the album......Frank Zappa: Sheik Yerbouti, first release on Zappa Records, 1979.......good years brother, good racing back in the 60's and 70's. .....oh, good video too! Nitromethane !!!!!!!!
@@MangoHombre Just listened to half the album Zapped' you sent with the link......The blimp, the blimp, the mothership.....I went and pulled two Zappa albums to listen to later tonight on my 1979 vintage Sansui/Kenwood Bose 901's.....Burnt Weeny Sandwich and Joe's Garage. What are the chances of you listing to Zappa at the same time I posted......dude we are talking 8years, less chances than winning the Powerball....lol.
That is the look and sound of a AA/FD.....put a modern clutch, six point roll cage ( round not square), blower straps and other modern day saftey devices and keep the look and sound of nostalgia intact. Of course I'm talking about a recreation but not like what modern day nostalgia has become. With high 6's and mid 7'second runs theses cars would be safe, even bring back a modern firesuit including breather masks, no computers or throttle stops, big ugly canard wings either. And why not push starts? They do it all day long at cacklefest events.....Its not about performance as much keeping the old days alive.....this is what was intended back in the 90's.....not like what nostalgia nitro racing has become and the deep pocket big show wannabees....the same goes for F/C and the fuel altered
that what my slingshot will be like that but called the blue snake and it will run a Donovan 392cu in hemi V8 and 2spd Lenco and It will be painted metalflake blue in memory of my dad who never lived to see the day I will run the car for the 1st time and I knew this will be good time for me and the family who will run the car with me as the tuner and driver and I will be running that type of car myself with my brother helping out at the races on my slingshot dragsters tuning the fuel and the clutch and I will be wearing the breather mask and the helmets worn in that video that's what I'll be doin in the future in drag racing with the blue snake slingshot Fueler AND HAVIN FUN TOO we are gonna have fun in our slingshot Fueler I knew I will be doin so
Examine sitting in that seat with the differential between you're legs and you're legs over each axillary and 1000 horsepower turning in that differential, wondering if they might blow apart ye ha .
Nothing more badass than the vintage drag suit, helmet, mask, and gloves!
...man that's a beautiful car...that translucent blue brake lever knob is pure class...

Maybe has earplugs...
Ear plugs wouldn’t cut it.
Because it's good for the Soul ! What ?
Maybe he's already deaf from repeatedly doing that? Maybe he just doesn't know any better or just doesn't care.
Some of us love it loud n proud,
Desapareció ese espectáculo?

All about power to weight ratio....
Beautiful car. Shite cell phone sound. Bailed 40 seconds in.
Wasn't cell phone video. Let's hear what kind of sound YOU can get 20 feet from a top fuel engine.

How's it coming? This video shows what a dragster is supposed to look like!
You sound a little challenged. Is that what you be doin ?
I kept thinking the guy starting the engine had no hearing protection, those are so freakin' loud even at idle, he's going to be so deaf.
This should race a Tesla Plaid
The T/F car's of today are nothing but show, yuk 👎🏼
