I think it was a good work around to give you a pass. But you should stick to unhauling 2 for every pass you give yourself. That way its like one to take its place and one as a “punishment”.
I think if you´re not sure you should keep some book, just get rid of it. In my opinion bookshelves should represent the reader, not wasting space with mediocre books. You can read it on your kindle anytime anyway.
I've started doing this too except my kids pick out my books and I am falling in love with reading consistently again. Thanks for the influence. I always look forward to your videos.

I will say that “The Shadows” is pitched as horror….it’s a psychological thriller. There end up being no supernatural aspects and it all has human explanations and I was really let down by that when I read it. Lucid dreams go hand in hand with that human aspect too but you aren’t missing out on an awesome horror/supernatural book by DNF-ing.
I feel you on putting down books that I'm not in the mood for. Those I classify as TBC (to be continued) rather than DNF. It seems a little harsh to unhaul something when a book is TBC. My suggestion as an alternate: pick another book out of your jar and make yourself read it instead. Love the series! I'm inspired to do the same thing.
Omg that’s my obsession series to listen on audiobooks during my drive to work (the in death series!) I’ve listened to them multiple times - all of the series lol.. you either will love them or hate them.
You are one of my favorite book tubers and I screamed when you picked the outsiders. The outsiders is my all time favorite book. I read it in 6th grade as required reading and over 20 years later nothing has ever come close to topping it. Just like you tho, there is nothing I can really relate to, and besides the feeling it gives me, I couldn’t say exactly why it’s remained my all time fav. It’s just the feeling I remember it giving me in the moment when I read it for the first time. We were assigned to read the first chapter for school and I read it all that night and was bawling by the end. Every few years I will read it again and it still brings me right back to 6th grade. It’s truly the book that made me want to read more. Reading this gave me such joy and I’ve been chasing that high ever since. I recently learned it’s now on Broadway, and I cannot wait to go see it. The soundtrack is so good. I’m always happy to see people read it for the first time. ❤
I just found your channel about a week ago or so and I’ve been binging it. This is my favorite series. I don’t have much of a physical TBR (I keep it to under 20 books or so). But I have 100s of books on my goodreads TBR so I think I’m going to do the same Idea with those books so I can pick more of a variety of books. Thanks for the inspo
I'm glad you liked the Outsiders. I have read it twice, once with each of my kids, and I didn't care for it either time. I just found that I couldn't relate. The In Death series is pretty good, and you could probably read it out of order, but I think you would benefit from at least reading the first one or two in the series!

Your twenty miles rant made me laugh. It happened to me once when I read All the Light We cannot See which is filled with innacurencies, mostly historical but also distancial. It made me so mad. Like why won't you bother checking walking distance when writing your book ?

I think that was a great pass! I don't know anything about the book but having to unhaul two on your TBR to keep one on your TBR for later should be a new rule you allow yourself!
Just out of curiosity, did you put the pink slip for "Alone With You In The Ether" back into your little container? With regards to "Blind Side" if you felt that the book was just ok and if it's something that you aren't going to read again - then just pass it on, it will make space on your shelf for something that you do love or treasure, of course this is just my opinion and you do what's best for you and your shelves. P.S. Have you ever gone through your shelf and done a clean up? (As in removing books you've read prior and haven't enjoyed or they were just mid books, like "The Angel Maker" which you've only recently unhauled)
You don’t have to be sorry for anything! This is YOUR challenge! If it happens again where you’re not in the mood to read a certain book, maybe put it back on the shelf and pick another one out of the jar. 😊

The shadows was the first ever book I just randomly picked up at target and read on my own a few years ago and it started my reading journey! I never see anyone talk about it so it’s so crazy to see it in your vid!💗

"The Outsiders" was required reading for me in 5th grade (in the early 90s). We weren't allowed to watch the movie, though. XD I remember INTENSELY disliking it and being very confused as to why everyone else in class was absolutely obsessed with it. 😂

I hated The Outsiders when we had to read it in school (Year 8 in the UK, so 12-13 year olds). I think a big part of my dislike was that the slang they used was so dated to us in the 90s.

Don’t feel bad about unhauling the JD Robb books. I’ve read the first 10 in the series and they’re good, but not amazing. 3 star reads for me
