    Seems like a good option for those on the road and need plenty of bandwidth up and down like creators. For the average person, though, I think a combination of Starlink and a gateway from T-Mobile or Verizon should do the trick for streaming content. I understand both T-Mobile and Verizon will begin to crack down on going mobile and there are deprioritization issues, however, Verizon has not cracked down. Not sure about T-Mobile and the T-Mobile mobile plan is just way too expensive for my taste. Thanks for showing us another option!

    I'm a manufacturer/OEM and I have some experience with that router. I'm pretty sure it has a RM520GL in it and those are notorious for topping out at lower speeds. We use some that are upgraded and the new firmware fixes some of those issues but I'd venture to say that these are not the upgraded ones... They also have a very hard time switching towers while in motion. 4 antennas for 4g/5g 4 antennas for wifi, 2 for 2.4ghz 2 for 5ghz. None of the m.2 modems support over 4 antenna connections. No need for the extra antennas, carrier ag is where the speed is and no additional antennas needed for that. We have some beta testing modems that are getting a gig down and over 100m up!! When the cost of those come down they're gonna be the best!!

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  18 дней назад

      Hi, I think these use the RM502Q-AE chip but I haven't verified on my actual unit. I agree 6 cellular and 2 wifi seems odd, typically I see 4 and 4. However these are clearly labelled as such and include 6 cellular antennas and 2 wifi antennas...? See details and pics here: device.report/m/c6d13aa24353e67763ed9e062d99fb27101f7ce1503068e96f357d8d169304f5.pdf device.report/spark-technology/mr40

      @jlarosa22 18 дней назад +1

      @@NaterTater They may have changed the modem to the RM502Q-AE but with the speeds and the cost I'd doubt it... Both of those units use 4 antennas not 6. I'd say thats a labeling issue lol. We're working on a new POE router that will be mobile, if you're interested we'll reach out when its ready!?

    I’ve recently just found your channel. Very informative. I live out in the country. No fiber, just DSL (ugh) and T-Mobile 5G Home. The dsl is reliable with low latency but slow. 80/10. T-Mobile is decent, between 100-300 down and 10-30 up. The problem with the T-Mobile is it’s not good for streaming TV. Latency is very high. 600+ I believe this is because we are 6 miles from tower and also, the signal has to pass through trees. I’ve watch a couple of your videos where you suggest the waveform 4x4. Would this work for me?

    • @NaterTater

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  16 дней назад

      No, port forwarding is typically not naitively available with cellular but there are complex workarounds. The sim is glued in and they expect it to remain.

    Any video throttle on these plans? This is interesting as I am currently paying for hotspots on all three carriers and it's costing a lot for small amounts of data.
    Also, can the carriers be changed on the device on your own, or do you have to call customer support?

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  9 дней назад

      @rincosplayerX no video throttle. Must contact customer support via live chat, email or phone if you don't like the automatic carrier selection it does.

    Hey Nate..
    I'll try again.. Maybe something happened with last comment.
    Are you going to review other options in the "multi-carrier" arena.?? Based on the information you presented here, this looks like it might be a very good option for folks in fringe areas like me.... Or maybe mobile users on the road. So, just like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and other MVNOs.... What options are available.??

      @DVLITTLEPILOT i had the same problem. I would randomly go and put in my address only to be disappointed. Then one night while sitting at work I put it in and all the sudden it said it was available. Funny thing is i put in my inlaws address (next door) and it was not available. I put in other addresses nearby and it seems mine was the only one available in the whole area. Anyway I've got it now but I live on the fringe of the towers area I guess. My speed is not great but it does ok for downloading updates on my ps5 and for watching Netflix and stuff like that. Don't even try to play a game online though. 100-300 ping. Considering putting an external antenna on it or going some other route
