Brian from Real Engineering promised me he would post a photo of when he bathed in Frosted Flakes wearing a Teletubby costume if I hit 2,000 followers by the end of the day. To be clear, this is totally the truth and not a contrived story to try to gain social media influence in order to reach my goal of legally establishing myself as a corporation. Given that, make sure to follow me on Instagram at instagram.com/sam.from.wendover
Seems legit

0:18 DMV: "Scary dangerous place where one can see cold heartless people on the otherside"
DMZ: "The area of land separating the Korean peninsula"
*_This description of both places is so accurate that it's beyond science_*
Evariste Galois hahahaha I was like woah this heartless bastard not all North Koreans are bad. But then when i heard it again 😂😂😂
Too bad(good) I am not from the US, still got the joke though....was good

@@teelo12000 Me too. Us Americans despise the DMV, so I knew it was going to be a switcheroo joke.

All of North Korea's citizens have now gotten internet!
"Why?" you may ask. Well, just look at this thrilling interview with Kim Jong-un:
"Why did you decide to give internet to your country, sir?"
"I don't know, I just watched this video on youtube and did what they told me to do"
"And they told you to give access to the internet in North Korea?"
"No. But they had to have connection to the internet to use skillshare"

1:30 - "...and a full metric ton of artillery vehicles at the South."
This is one of those cases where "metric ton" is actually an understatement.
I always thought it was the "metric ass-ton."
FYI Daeseong-dong is also a very interesting place. It's technically South Korean but people there are practically isolated from the rest of South Korea. Only descendants of the original villagers are allowed to live there and even they have to live there at least 8 months a year to retain the status. They're exempt from taxation and military service, but instead everything is controlled by UN forces. They even have a curfew. It's also in the middle of nowhere so there's no fast food, Starbucks, theaters, supermarkets, etc. Most outsiders aren't allowed in, so no delivery either. At least they have the Internet. Otherwise most people would've gone crazy.
I think the airplanes pants would be in the back, since the pants would fold if the plane was landing.
And be torn to shreds by the runway.
But then the stabilisators would be aerodynamicaly blocked.
@@elismaatta You mean the vertical and horizontal stabiliser?
I visited the DMZ a number of years ago. The building where the armistice was signed in smack on the border between North and South Korea. If you entered the building on the South Korean side, you could walk the length of the room which would put you in North Korea ! That was country 106 on my travel list ! I have visited most of the countries on my list many times but only visited North Korea that one time.

Also if they wore them the first way, the pants would be shredded by the runway upon landing

I've been to the DMZ and its a pretty intense place.I was there in 2003 for the 50th anniversary.. The fake town flies the worlds largest flag and has painted on windows and a skeleton crew to maintain the place. Its just like a movie set and they blast propaganda for about 20 hours a day. The sign said "Yankee go Home" but I don't know if they are still up.. They also found at least 3 tunnels at the DMV and one they turned in to a ride!
If it's "fake". Then why do the houses look so run down? Ever considered that it's an abandoned village?

Imagining living on the only planet known to carry any form of life amongst billions of members of the same form of life as you, in a universe with billions of other ostensibly empty planets, and your only job is to go around a fake settlement seemingly in the middle of nowhere flipping switches to turn lights on and off randomly. And if you don't do it, some other bloke, who's more powerful than you for some reason, will tell some other guy with a gun to put an end to your misery and go imprison your family for 3 generations. While at the same time people who happened to be lucky to be born on the other side of the same planet are whizzing by at tens of time the speed of sound hundreds of miles above your head like it's their 9 to 5 (which, unbelievably, it is).
Finally a video about this! I've been waiting for this.
I observed this town with a telescope in the DMZ. I saw no activity at all, as if no one lived there. Still, it seemed to be well-maintained.
I was on the DMZ tour (South Korea Side) last year and the tour guide told me, that there is a town in the DMZ on the North Korean side called Kaesong, which was built to show the South Koreans, how "well" they're living. This town can be only visited by their residents as an north korean, since the DMZ is not allowed to enter for any Koreans at all.
So it must be true
0:17 your jokes were funny for once
I love you guys! Lmao
Keep up the great work!
Your jokes are never funny.
Greatest birthday present ever, an HAI video! Love ya' Sam!
These guys are great at linking the story to the product. Props, you need money to make these high quality vids and you do it well
Ok that DMV-DMZ joke was perfect 😂 great video as always tho.
Yeah i've been there last September. Interesting that one of the questions asked by the US Military guide was
"Do any of you feel like defecting to the North today?" Bizarre.
Also, Daesong-dong was featured in a Korean variety show "2 Days 1 Night" last year.
Another interesting fact, South Koreans can't just go to the DMZ like international tourists can. Korean-American can though.
Loved the transition to skillshare on this one. top notch
i love going on google maps and seeing how little areas there are where we can drop down and see as if we were there compared to south korea

Imjin River: the thing we sit on the other side except for that time we needed to trim a tree
Imjin Road (actually Parkway): the thing I use to get to Target on old Fort Ord, former home of the 7th Infantry Division after their 25 years of staring across the DMZ, probably wishing they were at the DMV just for a change.

The DMV and DMZ are totally different things. One is a scary, dangerous place where others on the other side want you dead, and the other is a spot for crossing into another country
Have you got any views from North Korea?
On a serious note, if an airplane actually wore pants, it's landing gear should get covered.
Funny fact, all the lights came on at the same time and went off at the same time. I was stationed inside the DMZ for many moons and saw some really strange things.

The plane fetish managed to get in to this video
Imagine if it looks fake because they have tunnels under all the buildings so they commute that way, making there towns look dead...
Food for thought

The people in that South Korean town is not encouraged to be there, it's in a weird spot where you can't immigrate into that town, but you're only allowed to live there if you're the son or daughter of a previous resident there. And if you move out of that town, you can't come back. It's a weird place, with not a lot of opportunities both in terms of employment and education, so people tend not to stick around.
omg the beginning joke is amazing!
