When you are shaving your face, they say to do it dry, but DO NOT. That is literally the worst thing for your skin. We shave our legs wet, our arms (if you shave there) and our face should be the same. Use warm water first, use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil as a film, and then use gentle strokes with the razor. Shaving dry can be highly irritating to the skin. And you are only supposed to do it once every 4 weeks. My skin always comes out smooth and stays clear. Also make sure you wash your face afterwards again with the same cleanser, and then use something like micellar water to remove extra dirt. I usually use baby lotion for a moisturizer. And that’s it. No harsh chemicals, nothing to clog my pores. It’s been working for me.
I don’t think it’s the dermaplaning, it might be the makeup right after. I would never run a blade on the top layer of my skin and put make up right after. I usually do this at night and put gentle and hydrating moisturiser right after and let the skin heal all night before harsh products or sunlight exposure. Edit: I am not saying that it’s never dermaplaning. I am saying just in this case the reason for the reaction might be the makeup.
Yes this. After literally shaving all the dirt from your face, it is reallyyy sensitive. Now put on heavy makeup or maybe even light makeup will make it worse obviously
@@Rhinzi yeah plus mine is so sensitive after. I couldn't imagine trying makeup right after! How stupid. These are the ones who rubbed their faces raw with st. Ives apricot scrub instead of stopping when it's obvious to stop. If the formula was never changed I'd still would use it once a week smh
@@MISayera97 did you use a clean face actually wash at least two times and use witch hazel to make sure it's clean, hands and blade even if new you should clean with rubbing alcohol the blade. Don't dry shave and experiment what works best for you. Soaps are awful for me but my vitamin c serum or Vaseline I love and heard aloe vera gel is great too. Wash your face with acne face wash after your finished and use witch hazel after to clean everything even better. Moisturize and be mindful what you use. Some stuff is gonna give you more a reaction cause your waterproof barrier that protected you is gone. I do all this and no problems. Even maybe a face mask after that is a serum like my Japanese one. Try Korean and Japanese products usually they are better than what wr have here
Finally someone spoke out. Some of these influencers swears and say stuff like we are missing out by not shaving but i saw instantly that when i did it my skin got so irritated.
@@arandompersonontheinternet4136This. I have very acne prone skin and there is a science to it. I typically do it at night before I put on my adapalene gel.
Points to remember if you decided to shave your face: 1. Make sure your blade is clean 2. Use a clean cloth to wipe the hairs off your blade 3. Wash your face and hands before shaving 4. After shaving, use a toner or any product (I'm dumb) u have to wipe your face. 5. Moisturise your face well. Remember cleanliness is a necessity.
Dermaplaning is different than just regularly shaving your face. Dermaplaning removes the uppermost skin layer, and that’s what caused this for her. Apparently she had a bunch of acne underneath.
Kuch bhi karlo jo log hair folicle ko trigger karne se sensitive hai unko pimples hoke hi rahega like main threading karwati hoon ,the after results are horrible
Great PSA. Unfortunately we get a lot of “hacks gone wrong” as an esthetician and it can be so easily avoided. There are so many different trends that come and go that absolutely should not be “tried out” for this exact reason.
@@moomoozebra that’s great. You probably take all the necessary precautions and get great results. Just make sure not to over exfoliate and use a good moisturizer 👍🏻
@@Yung.Wild.free01 Exactly. It really can be avoided so easily, but with social media being so constantly influential especially to young people, it’s easy to be careless and misinformed.
What happened is the you also removed the top layers of skin and was more exposed to the elements and bacteria. You didn't have protection over your skin or time to heal in a sanitary way. Exfoliation requires you to be very careful and keep your skin clean and moisturized to create a protective barrier. Putting makeup after and bacteria mixed with oil, product just congested your hair follicle and infected your skin. And if your tried drying skin products to kill bacteria without hydrating your skin produced more oils to make up for the dryness. Healing, calming and hydrating products would help more. You may have gone to heavy with the blade as well, causing extra damage. do not try at home. Even as an esthetician, I had other technicians do exfoliating treatments on me.
I'm not sure about derma planing but I've been shaving my face for 4 years and my skin has never felt better. It glows, definitely helps when you apply skincare and No, hair does NOT grow back thick (it may work different for different people) This is how i do it, Gentle skin cleanser Foaming cleanser I apply a Thick layer of aloevera gel and then shave Wipe off using toner (I use rose hydrosol) Moisturize with Saffron based moisturizer I do this at night and leave overnight followed by sunscreen as usual everyday and no makeup for the next 10-15 hours. Works like a charm ✨ Note : I'm just sharing my experience it may react differently if u have hormonal issues etc..
Remember that everyone has different skin flora, essentially your natural skin bacteria. Some can be opportunistic and cause infections and acne outbreaks. Always remember to disinfect any tools you use that touch your skin prior to use.
I have a feeling that’s why a LOT of people experienced crazy breakouts. They didn’t know how to disinfect the tools and how to take care of your skin after. I wax my face and it’s taken a lot of trial and error to figure out the perfect routine to avoid breakouts after hydrocolloid band aids really help heal skin that feels tender after waxing and helps suck up any moisture that could form a pimple
I did this same thing and I found that putting on makeup right after shaving can cause this. When you shave your face you are essentially creating micro cuts in the skin and makeup getting into that can cause breakouts. You have to leave your skin alone for at least a day or so before putting on makeup.
You will say all this technical and logical things of leaving your face for one day after shaving ...not applying makeup immediately..but don't agree the fact that shaving your face is bad idea..? You'll always reading find that small hack so that no one can blame shaving.. nd don't come to conclusions by watching this after shaving effect and stop doing shaving the face?? Right?
@@sreenidhi7055 I’m not even gonna try to comprehend your reply, but all I will say in response is: do your own research. Know your own skin. It’s not gonna work for everyone. As for me, shaving works, but only after I found out that I need to use an oil or something to keep from dry shaving.
Tip I learned, don’t do this on a dry face. Buy aloe gel, smear that on the areas of your face you’re going to shave and then have at it. Your face is freaking out because it’s not used to being hairless and receiving this type of heavy exfoliation. The sebum on your face wants to over produce to compensate for it, thus causing acne. So Using aloe will keep moisture to your face while doing this procedure and then after add a hyaluronic acid serum.
I very seldom shave my face but yes totally agree! I use aloe gel when doing it. I also soak a cotton pad with a hydrating toner and use it to wipe off any leftover hair and dead skin. I then apply a generous amount of the same toner and the same aloe gel. But then again, dermaplaning doesn't work for everyone, so it might've just been that she was unlucky and tried something that her skin didn't personally like, which is really unfortunate and it's great that her skin healed :>
@@ritaruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Hi! Not sure if you were asking me or the original commenter but I wanted to share anyways. ruclips.net/video/BmHQH22WsqM/видео.html She uses different products here but it's a good reference for how gentle you should be and how you should hydrate the skin generously after! And also her vibes are very calming 😁
Honestly, my skin has never looked this good. Whether it was breakouts or rough texture, the subliminal affirmations on borlest helped smooth everything out. It’s amazing how much has changed!
There are definitely many things you did wrong that could have affected the outcome. 1. You didn’t use any creams or products on your face to help smoothen the shaven process, I use aloe gel when I shave my face, you could use other things too. 2. You put makeup on right after!! Never do this, let your skin rest for a day or two after this because you’re also shaving off dead skin. 3. You didn’t use a moisturizer or shaving toner afterwards, which you should do to help your skin have a barrier while it’s still vulnerable from shaving the peach fuzz off. Please do your research before trying anything again, because if you do it right this should NOT happen, unless you’re predisposed to it or have very sensitive skin. I’ve been shaving my face for about 1 and a half years now so i’ve learned about it and have never had this happen to me. Even though I do have sensitive skin. Also if you do this again, clean the blade every time you use it, and don’t go too hard on your face.
@@ritaruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu never shave when you have acne. It’ll spread the bacteria around your face. Of course shaving your face isn’t for everyone, if you have dry to sensitive skin I do not recommend doing this. Other than that always use a clean blade and pair it with aloe Vera or a moisturizer. (Personally I use heavy cream Nivea and I’ve had no issue but then again that’s my skin). As well always shave downwards never shave upwards. Before shaving though I recommend washing your face to remove any dirt or dead skin that you have on your face. After you’ve done that if you use serums put that on your face and moisturize. Keep hair off your face as your hair does carry dirt and can make you break out. Wait until the next day to let your hair down. After that you’re golden :D
Aftershave works well after dermaplanning to prevent infection like this. Putting makeup onto a freshly shaved face clogs the pores and allows bacteria to be trapped beneath it.
@@nivedithas7300 tbh dermaplaning is not that hard 5 days ago I started doing dermaplaning and my skin is great. @@nupuii07 why sunscreen right after at night? Sunscreen supposedly is not really great for your skin, but its still better than the damagr from the sun. Why should one put it at night? Thank youuu
i think a possible factor to this is that you seemed to apply makeup right after dermaplaning. especially on more sensitive skin, you would need to wait and maybe cleanse your face before putting makeup right on. this may not be the case and i understand that dermaplaning is not going to work for everyone 💕
I’m so sorry this happened to you! This just goes to show how different things work for different people because I was diagnosed with moderate cystic acne and it helps get rid of all of that
try going cold turkey on skincare just let your skin do it’s thing and heal on it’s own. take your supplements and collagen i also like taking msm since it’s anti inflammatory. if u want a cream spot treatment i recommend cosrx centella blemish cream it works!
I did this on a moisturized face with a saving gel as a barrier over a year ago when this was a really popular tend, and i ended up with painful cystic acne. You can’t tell me that anyone can do this themselves and have the same results with their skin. I would leave it up to an aesthetician but I don’t think everybody should do this at home.
Really? That's crazy!! I was always so scared to try it. But I have dry skin. Ahd nothing has fixed it. So I tried this, and I've done it twice so far. And it's made my skin so soft. My pimples calmed down, and no more dry skin. But yeah, not everyone will have the same results. I'm sorry it didn't work for you :(
If I put shaving gel on my face I'd probably end up with cystic acne too from an allergic reaction. If I get a reaction like that it will take me 3 or 4 months to heal. Just cause you can use it on your legs don't mean you can use it on the face. The face is one of the most sensitive areas of the body. Get to know your skin & be gentle. I have the most sensitive skin ever & I don't ever have this problem. I only do it every couple weeks on clean dry skin & moisturize after.
It’s just shaving. I’ve been shaving my face since I was 10 years old. It’s in the financial interest of estheticians to pretend that this is an incredibly delicate medical procedure that no amateur should be performing at home. It’s ridiculous to say that billions of men can shave their faces daily, but woman somehow can’t. I’m not downplaying what happened to you OP. Of course, people should be very careful when trying this for the first time, especially if they know they have sensitive facial skin. That said, if you have plenty of experience shaving your own body, and you don’t have an unusually sensitive face, and you know the needs of your own skin, just have at it. Go to town. Estheticians aren’t doctors, this isn’t a medical procedure, and the idea that they can shave an experienced shaver better than she knows how to shave herself is pure nonsense.
Im wondering Apart from this issue Doesn't doing this feel really bad when the hair is coming back and doesn't it look off putting afterwards when not shaven ? I could never dare do this, rather just use my epilator if I want to remove facial hair
@@aleera8257 no it doesn't look any different when the hair comes back. I mean you can feel the difference when you touch it. But when people say it grows back darker and thicker... its just a myth. I do it once a week. And it's helped my face so much. My face wash, lotions. Serums. And toners are actually getting in my skin. Before.. All those products didn't make a difference. Shaving my face with a face razor has gotten rid of my dry skin. My random pimples. And made my face so soft.
a few tips that Iv'e learnt from doing it quite a few times: 1. don't put makeup on for a whole day after shaving your face 2. use a clean blade every time 3. moisturise as your shaving and moisturise HEAVILY after 4. don't use any acids serums or lots of skincare after, keep it simple with just a moisturiser (I use the Neutrogena hydro-boost water gel) 5. do NOT shave over acne. Be very careful when shaving over acne or even acne scars, it can cause you to break out more and can make your acne much worse Just a few tips but just remember if you are shaving your face you are heavily exfoliating your skin to the point that it will become very sensitive. Be careful with your skin after and make sure to hydrate!!
@@SHAFAMATEENtry not to use any acids ! just moisturise and if you make the acne worse, it should go away in time (about 2 weeks ish) but if you want it to go away sooner than that, try not to damage your skin barrier any more than you have and try to cleanse twice a day with an oil cleanser or the cerave hydrating cleanser :)

I had a similar reaction when I used threading as a way to remove facial hair, switching to shaving was a lifesaver for me. It's crazy how different our skins behaves considering the similar histological structures we share.
I had a similar experience, whenever I waxed or threaded my face (professionally too), I’d get tiny bumps all over my face- it looks like contact dermatitis and it would be super itchy too. Shaving does nothing though.
I kinda had something similar. I used to always be able to wax my eyebrows but now my eyes get super red and it ripes the skin off and it bleeds and hurts. However threading isnt harmful and is better for me
i would suggest not to wax your face plss!! It just makes your skin more worse i swear and leaves dark spots or marks on ur face!! I too had marks and dark spots when i waxed my face for the 1st time my skin got worse like hell. Not lying but but butt!! COCONUT OIL was a lifesaver for sure it helped me alot .and now i barely have spots

I also went through the same thing this content creator is saying. I didn't know what went wrong when I started having the same acne condition as she has. But I had always in my mind that shaving my face may have been the reason but I wasn't quite sure because I never used any other product that could cause this. Now today this video has confirmed it, that it was the reason. Thanks.
same this works for me but i only do certain parts of my face, and leave the sensitive areas alone. also SO important to follow every sanitary precaution :/
Exactly like with myself I can't use shaving cream because I'm allergic to it my legs get beet red burn and itch so bad if I get shaving cream on them.
I’ve been shaving my face for more than 3 y, I’ve never had this problem. First I clean my face, always use a clean blade, I never shave on dry skin. Second I apply a product that let the blade to glide, then after I am done, I clean my face once again and apply some aloe gel, essence, nothing thick. I wait a bit and then apply my makeup, often I apply makeup right away without having any issues. I’m sorry this happened to you. Hope it will never happen to you again.
Me too. I also shave my face and tbh my skin got better after shaving. So smooth and baby like. I use Aloe Vera gel and make sure i use sunscreen and try to avoid sun and don't chemically exfoliate the skin. :)
The same thing happened to me and it took me a full year to get rid of the scarring. And I realized I should have sanitized the blade before using it (it was just sitting in my drawer with a bunch of brushes and lotions). Since I started sanitizing, I never had that problem. But the skin breaking out definitely sucked

I’ve learned with shaving your face, you should clean your skin beforehand, and you shouldn’t touch your face at all 30 minutes after you shave. Doing this prevents infections and painful breakouts like this one.

Wow! I shave my face about once a month. I do the full thing and it's amazing. I sometimes get a bump here or there but I'm not sure if it was already going to just happen. 🤷♀️ My dermatologist prescribes me strong acne creams and a face gel that takes off the top layer of skin. It's also for acne but it works better as a strong peel I think. It's amazing for blackheads! He loves botox and supports all the things I do for my skin. I love him and drive 4 hours to see him! But I will shower, wash my face with a benzoyl peroxide face wash. Then shave in the shower. My boyfriend put a mirror in there and he loves it lol I do too! Then I put a thin layer of my benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin cream. It will dry me out! Bad! So then the next morning I do a moisturizer and my skin is amazing!!! I also only use a new blade every time and try not to put makeup on for at least a day or two just in case. That is where a lot of bacteria is located. Of course I had help from a dermatologist to do this properly so that is probably why mine goes so well. I did have it go kind of bad once. I was on vacation and noticed a mustache! I freaked out and shaved it! Bad bumps and I was soo sad!!!
I’ve been doing this at home for years and it’s definitely the pre treatment and post treatment that makes a world of difference. Have never had any issues like this
I'm not expert at skin care but please always consult your dermatologist before trying out things on your skin. Also do it because you want to not because someone else tells you to 💗
One of the ways that you prevent acne from shaving your face is a need to make sure your face cleansed moisturize and has aloe vera gel on it so that you’re not just scraping your skin you are scared you were getting their hair off of your skin but when you do it you’re taking off the Alevera gel as well so it’s not harm your skin
Yeah, I've been there. Turns out the sebum in the skin, kind of needs the hair in order to travel away from the surface, in order to not get all clogged up in my pores nor to get all globbed up in the extra empty hair follicles. My skin has always tended to be fairly acne oriented, so yes, not a great idea for me either. East Asian women have been doing this as normal for eons. That's where I got the idea from, that and I'm now a woman of a certain age, so, I just thought I'd see if it would work for me. That would be a big 'ol nope.🙂✌🏼 Hang in there, this too shall pass.
Yes thank you for saying this. Even my armpit hair becomes ingrown very easily that's why I don't shave anymore. The most is to trim if it gets out of hand.
Agree. It irritates the hair follicles TERRIBLY over time, especially as the hair begins to grow in again. Little bumps that look like fungal acne start up and the texture becomes bumpy. No matter how intelligently you go on to use your skincare treatment products, some skin just deals terribly with dermaplaning.
I think what caused this was shaving your face and then apply your makeup instead of applying aloe Vera , shave your face ,wash your face with your favorite product and then go to bed
I share a similar story. I'm a super hairy Indian girl and I waxed my face and suffered similar severity of acne for nearly 10 months. I used to wake up with a painful and hot face every morning with 10-12 new pimples. It was like a never ending cycle and the prescription medicines were so harsh and drying to my skin that I even suffered from severe skin barrier dysfunction for a few weeks, resulting in not able open my mouth properly. I didn't give up though and today what's left with me are just the scars. I still get pimples only during my periods which subside in a day or two and my skin is doing fine. I'm never going for severe skin procedures anymore.
This happened to me too as an indian girl. First from waxing and then from dermaplaning. I get so much acne from it. My skin is not healed after two years
Something similar happened to me but to a lesser extent. I broke out like I never had before, and I’ll definitely do more research before I ever try to shave my face again. Specially at home. Or maybe even hopefully I’ll find out it’s just something that won’t work for everybody
*Tips that works for me* - 1) use mild foam cleanser to clean the face before because after shaving the skin will be sensitive 2) Use clean razors 3) There is not a part in body where you shave on dry skin. then why for face? hence put a layer of Aloe vera gel 4) After shaving clean your face with simple water. Use a calming cica gel afterwards 5) Do it at night
This happened to me too!!! Crazy thing is that I'm a twin and she didn't break out at all.... I was left with months of battling severe and painful breakouts.....best to say NEVER again !!!

I would definitely not recommend shaving your whole face, as it removes a lot of layers of hair and things that keep dirt and oils and stuff out of your pores, and when you remove that you can get terrible breakouts and skin rashes and it's just definitely not something I think a lot of people would recommend.
Here is a tip Use cleansing oil or Vaseline or aloe Vera gel on your skin before shaving Don't shave dry After shaving, wash your face with a regular cleanser which doesn't have any actives Don't use active ingredients for at least 2days For example vitc niacinamide salicylic acid or anything Don't apply makeup right after At least a day after Stick to a hydrating and calming skincare routine For example using a panthenol or centella based toner or serum and finish off with a ceramide based moisturizer Keep that in mind if you have sensitive skin don't use products with fragrance. It can trigger And most importantly don't use the same blade every single time Change it after 3/4 use And SANITIZE BEFORE USING hope it can help🫶🏼

So sorry that happened to your skin! I was breaking out a little bit and decided to try dermaplaning and at first the breakouts started going away..but then my skin just started bumping and crusting up like skin barrier damage. I’ve never had my skin so sensitive and irritated from any skincare product before. I stopped doing it and my skin healed
So for al the people who said ✨that everybody should do this✨ no what works for you doens't have to work for someone else and it's just facts that you actually shouldn't do this yourself (I asked my dermatologist)
same thing happened to me, unfortunately. as a hairy Italian, I wanted my sideburns to go away so I could have that cute lil hairline that we see so often. Well, it went ok for a week or so but after that I got these red pimples that hurt and were so deep under the skin that nothing that I tried would help them. It’s taken a few months for my skin to get back to normal, and within that time I became very insecure of it- even with my mask on. I had never had this type of acne, and it was so scary thinking it would never go away. To anyone currently struggling, it gets better 🙏🏼♥️
This girl is trying to warn people and everyone got so defensive. First of all, you have hair on your face because it is biologically intended to be there. And second of all, you can get all of the benefits of shaving your face without actually shaving your face, except for if you just want to remove the hair because you are insecure about it. You want to shave it, shave it, but stop denying that it is potentially harmful to some, and stop acting like it is necessary and people should be doing it.
This exact same thing happened to me. After a lot of examining I found that when I shave my hair it's all right. But when it grows back and I wash my face or apply skin care, it pushes the hair back and forth thus causing irritation and red very itchy bumps. So I stopped shaving my face and my skin is all good again.
I had the exact same story. Tried it because I was curious and ended up with acne all over my jaw and cheeks. Have been struggling to get rid of them ever since. Could you share what you did to get them under control?
Im Latina and thank shave it and have no issues cause I don’t put makeup on right after which isn’t smart. I shouldn’t have to embrace it. I don’t care for it. If you like it that’s fine but it’s not cool to *”should”* on someone else.
I always got razor burn this is probly why.
Never heard anyone say that before its always been said to do with a oil or such anyone with common sense should know not to shave ur skin dry

Yes exactly
Yes this. After literally shaving all the dirt from your face, it is reallyyy sensitive.

Makes sense because you’re basically removing the protective layer of hair
Points to remember if you decided to shave your face:
1. Make sure your blade is clean
2. Use a clean cloth to wipe the hairs off your blade
3. Wash your face and hands before shaving

Great PSA. Unfortunately we get a lot of “hacks gone wrong” as an esthetician and it can be so easily avoided. There are so many different trends that come and go that absolutely should not be “tried out” for this exact reason.
This also has to do with skin type. Works just fine for me and I never break out
@@moomoozebra that’s great. You probably take all the necessary precautions and get great results. Just make sure not to over exfoliate and use a good moisturizer 👍🏻
It could’ve also been from her not cleaning her face prior and the razor not being cleaned.
@@Yung.Wild.free01 Exactly. It really can be avoided so easily, but with social media being so constantly influential especially to young people, it’s easy to be careless and misinformed.
Where are you based because I am trying to find an esthetician?
😯😯😯
That's quite a knowledge gurl!!!!!!!! WOW✨✨

I'm not sure about derma planing but I've been shaving my face for 4 years and my skin has never felt better. It glows, definitely helps when you apply skincare and No, hair does NOT grow back thick (it may work different for different people)
This is how i do it,
Gentle skin cleanser
Foaming cleanser
I apply a Thick layer of aloevera gel and then shave
Wipe off using toner (I use rose hydrosol)
Moisturize with Saffron based moisturizer
I do this at night and leave overnight followed by sunscreen as usual everyday and no makeup for the next 10-15 hours.
Works like a charm ✨
Note : I'm just sharing my experience it may react differently if u have hormonal issues etc..
@moonlightandmadness what kind of razor do you use? I want to try this!
Remember that everyone has different skin flora, essentially your natural skin bacteria. Some can be opportunistic and cause infections and acne outbreaks. Always remember to disinfect any tools you use that touch your skin prior to use.
Interesting. Never thought about that.
I have a feeling that’s why a LOT of people experienced crazy breakouts. They didn’t know how to disinfect the tools and how to take care of your skin after. I wax my face and it’s taken a lot of trial and error to figure out the perfect routine to avoid breakouts after
hydrocolloid band aids really help heal skin that feels tender after waxing and helps suck up any moisture that could form a pimple
Also before start shaving your skin think about hidrate very well
Yeah that's not why this happened. Licensed medical professional and I explain why on my channel
Hello does anyone here believe in Jesus
I did this same thing and I found that putting on makeup right after shaving can cause this. When you shave your face you are essentially creating micro cuts in the skin and makeup getting into that can cause breakouts. You have to leave your skin alone for at least a day or so before putting on makeup.
Exactly
Today I did it 😣 before make up I shave my face ...
That and wash your blade under the skin each swipe just to
Make sure the hair and dead skin is off each swipe

Also if you do this again, clean the blade every time you use it, and don’t go too hard on your face.
do you need to wait after applying the aloe gel?
I also use aloe Vera gel and I’ve never had an issue. I also use a new razor and clean it with alcohol prior to starting
Thank you so much, do you recommend any youtube video on how to do this right? Thank youuuu

I went to see the dermatologist and they gave me medicine to eat so it's 2nd day today. I can see a bit of a difference in these clogged pores type acne with white thingy
I’ve always had bad skin, especially acne, and I was tired of trying all the expensive stuff. The subliminal affirmations on borlest have honestly been the one thing that’s made a real difference. My skin feels so much better now.
When I do this; I use aloe gel while shaving and follow with a cleanser and pore tightening toner and a my skin comfortable serum and then a moisturizer. I avoid makeup right after doing this:)
three words. THANK YOU GIRL👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Right because I am also a hairy latina and have gone back and forth about this and now I know not to. Gonna just save up and get it done professionally
Good for you that you are helping others.
Glad you are better.
I’ve had all kinds of skin issues, from dryness to redness, but after trying the subliminal affirmations on borlest, my skin has become so much healthier and balanced. I’m really impressed!
The exact same thing happened to me too. I tried to shave my face back in 2020 and all hell broke loose. My skin only began to recover late last year. I can say I have learnt my lesson
It happened to me too.. after plenty of products finally I'm sticking to a simple skincare routine and skin is okay now.. still getting painful pimples 🙃
can you share your skincare routine?
Me too! I still have painful pimples but it’s only like one at a time and I think it’s better than all of them at once. I’m okay with one or two pimples on my face now.
I used to think a beautiful face is a perfect face without any blemishes but fortunately, I grew out of that mindset. With the right mindset and a little effort to maintain healthy skin, my skin has been treating me nicely.
@@snehachandel4039 Initially I went crazy and nothing worked except 10% niacinamide, it helped in black dark spots reduction. Now I cut down everything . Using an AHA BHA Foaming face wash morning and sometimes night or just mild baby soap at night depending how sticky my skin is. A spf 15 sunscreen sometimes.. coz am just at home... niacinimide serum then and now only if I feel I'm not gonna get any pimples.. that's it, keep it very simple and once you're clear you can add new products to your routine. Hope this helps!

I’ve learned with shaving your face, you should clean your skin beforehand, and you shouldn’t touch your face at all 30 minutes after you shave. Doing this prevents infections and painful breakouts like this one.

Thank you for saying it! Dermaplaning at home is not the same as getting it done professionally!
Oh my god...i thought it was helping me and something is wrong with the things my dermatologist gave me to use but i never stopped shaving my face...and my face looks exactly like that. Thank you so much for showing me this!!
You sure talk alot...
I’ve been doing this at home for years and it’s definitely the pre treatment and post treatment that makes a world of difference. Have never had any issues like this
Uhmm.....I think that's because she has a more different skin than yours
I'm not expert at skin care but please always consult your dermatologist before trying out things on your skin. Also do it because you want to not because someone else tells you to 💗
One of the ways that you prevent acne from shaving your face is a need to make sure your face cleansed moisturize and has aloe vera gel on it so that you’re not just scraping your skin you are scared you were getting their hair off of your skin but when you do it you’re taking off the Alevera gel as well so it’s not harm your skin
Aloe Vera?
@@kat3217 yes Fresh aloe vera or Aloe vera gel
@@gluestick2847 do you cut it from the plant? Or does it come in a bottle
Thank you so much! I was really thinking of trying this .. 😬 this video definitely saved me !! And I am glad that you were able to recover from it

My skin is not healed after two years
@@MadDeviSri I'm so sorry. I really hope your skin heals soon. Such procedures are not for all.
Something similar happened to me but to a lesser extent. I broke out like I never had before, and I’ll definitely do more research before I ever try to shave my face again. Specially at home. Or maybe even hopefully I’ll find out it’s just something that won’t work for everybody
*Tips that works for me* -
1) use mild foam cleanser to clean the face before because after shaving the skin will be sensitive
2) Use clean razors
3) There is not a part in body where you shave on dry skin. then why for face? hence put a layer of Aloe vera gel
4) After shaving clean your face with simple water. Use a calming cica gel afterwards
5) Do it at night
This happened to me too!!! Crazy thing is that I'm a twin and she didn't break out at all.... I was left with months of battling severe and painful breakouts.....best to say NEVER again !!!
So funny I just commented, that’s exactly what happened with my twin and I! Except I was the one perfectly fine (and I still shave my face primarily), and she was the one with the extreme break out!
@@BunnyQueen97 Omg that's crazy!! I mean... I get we are individuals, but considering we have the same DNA I was shocked to see the difference in our reactions.. A little upsetting considering that if it worked I would still use that method :(
I’ve done this before. I used moisturizer, shaving gel, everything you’re supposed to do. And somehow, to no surprise, my already sensitive skin broke out like yours. But somehow everyone tells me that I Did something wrong. No, I didn’t because I did EXACTLY why everyone told me and every single way made me break out so this thing does not work for everyone
You can't use shaving gel on your face, as the skin on your face is more sensitive as compared to the body!!
@@charmi839 Well… there’s shaving gel for the face too
Dont shave with moisturizer or shaving gel. Exfoliate first and then shave with soap and water. Lord...
@@charmi839
U can use shaving gel on your face that’s the whole point.
@@bee3467
you’re not supposed to be exfoliating right after u shave bc shaving already exfoliates your skin. Doing that can cause micro tears in your skin.
This reminds me of when I saw this natural curl hack where u take a comb and kinda roll it around ur hair and leave it in for a bit for natural heatless curls. I tried it once, got a comb stuck and had to cut it out, now I have crazy uneven curtain bangs
Happened to me recently and goshh its so awful . thanks to you someone actually said it . had clear skin and now I have worst dark spots . really needing help fading dark spots.
I got bumps too but fortunately, it wasn't this severe... I didn't dry shave, I used aloe gel but idk why...decided then itself that all these "viral techniques" don't work the same way for everyone
I tried this hack back in 2020 and it damaged my skin. My once clear face was covered by pimples and since then I have been trying all kinds of skincare treatment . It was depressing time for me as it lowered my self esteem and at the same time I was very conscious about people judging me because of how I looked. Finally after 3 years of struggle my face went back to how it was before. I learned a good lesson but in a hard way. Not everything we see on the social media platform is real. So be cautious before you try something out of curiosity
After how many days did u breakout? I shaved my face yesterday for the first time and i feel shit scared now seeing all these comments 😭
You shouldn't use make up for at least one day and you used it right after.I think that's why🤔
That's so awful 😢 I'm a 18yo and I have planned to shave my face and my face is already clear by the grace of god thank God u saved me from the trauma of future

I have always had painful breakouts after derma-planing or shaving myself. I always thought I was just different in a wrong way- thank you for posting this!
I'm glad I saw this. I wanted to try this but was nervous
That's so true, I am facing the same problem, I have pimples around my chin area. I used to shave my face because that made my skin really smooth and but after sometimes I had these pimples and dark spots they're terrible. My friend told me she had the same issue. Shaving face is not for everyone because everyone's skin is different and cope up differently.
Tip: when dermaplaning NEVER DO IT DRY It is really bad for your skin it can make your skin irritated do it after cleaning your face/washing hope this helps❤
Genuinely telling you guys the same happened to me. At a point of time i was too compelled to use the facial razors instant results of it are so good and make my skin so glowy and shiny but after that the phase of worsening starts.I've almost no active acne on my face but after using it my skin got worse at its peak. Also, after that I also suffers from folliculitis skin condition where I got small cystic bumps on my face everywhere. It ruined my face. Seriously, don't follow everything you see on internet. 😢#loveyourself ❤️#youarebeautiful#internetisfake#wrongbeautystandards#beyou#naturalskin

they say hairs get thick after shaving...
@@eternalsoul8809 I ice my face and then use aleo vera gel or any moisturizer.
For those who've experienced this, how did you fix your skin after?
1st exfoliate
2nd use shaving blam or alovera gel
3rd sanitization of ur tool
4th shave ur face in hair growth direction
5th do not use blade more then 3 times on same area
6th wash ur face and apply alovera gel for cooling it down
TRUST ME IT'S SO USEFUL IF U FOLLOW THIS CORRECT STEPS
i also had same problem since i have learnt the correct way my skin has become smooth
Also I learned from the 1990s not to pluck my eyebrows because now I want those big gorgeous eyebrows I plucked out and never grew back!
Thank you so much for this, I needed this bc I wanted to try shaving my face but whenever I have shaved my other areas it has caused pain and bumps afterwards so I was confused if it's gonna happen to my face or not
I would definitely not recommend shaving your whole face, as it removes a lot of layers of hair and things that keep dirt and oils and stuff out of your pores, and when you remove that you can get terrible breakouts and skin rashes and it's just definitely not something I think a lot of people would recommend.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Thank you
The way this isn’t even true, like this doesn’t even make sense tbh 😭
Thank you, how people are impossing this😢
Here is a tip
Use cleansing oil or Vaseline or aloe Vera gel on your skin before shaving
Don't shave dry
After shaving, wash your face with a regular cleanser which doesn't have any actives
Don't use active ingredients for at least 2days
For example vitc niacinamide salicylic acid or anything
Don't apply makeup right after
At least a day after
Stick to a hydrating and calming skincare routine
For example using a panthenol or centella based toner or serum and finish off with a ceramide based moisturizer
Keep that in mind if you have sensitive skin don't use products with fragrance. It can trigger
And most importantly don't use the same blade every single time
Change it after 3/4 use
And SANITIZE BEFORE USING
hope it can help🫶🏼
I think keeping peach fuzz is necessary to trap dirt like a 'protecter'
lol no. It is totally okay to shave it off or any hair on your face. All it does is help evaporate sweat, and help regulate body temp.
@@ilpats no, it actually is a dirt trap.
@@krabbykat9918 it doesn’t protect our skin from bacteria 🤦🏽 “can trap dirt and oils and leave your skin looking dull and lifeless which can also impede with make-up and skin care products.” it’s not rocket science 😂
I’ve done this on my dry/ skin of color multiple times. It works wonder. Just a few things i keep in mind 1. Single use or throughly clean shaves 2. Clean before and after the shave 3. Moisturizer. I really make sure my skin is fully hydrated and moisturized 4. Keep make-up minimally the next day. I don’t think that is necessary but i feel better that way 5. I do this 2 /month max.

Yoo I’m never trying this on my own lol 😂 Go to a pro salon, worth it
This girl is trying to warn people and everyone got so defensive.
Im so sorry!! That looks painful ☹️ Glad your skin got better!

Im Latina and thank shave it and have no issues cause I don’t put makeup on right after which isn’t smart. I shouldn’t have to embrace it. I don’t care for it. If you like it that’s fine but it’s not cool to *”should”* on someone else.
