This new train just screams inter-city to me so it looks like you'll need to get a second Lego room.😀
Good idea. I'll ask permission tonight. Fingers crossed!
He’s asked. Guess what my answer was? 🤨
@@mrshood3369 I'm assuming it was an enthusiastic "yes" 😂
Sadly not!
The train will have to be inter-house as well as inter-city. Now that would be a Lego challenge.
The shaping on the train, especially in the front, is actually very nicely done. The designers put in so many details that they never really included on a City train before, but they did. Yes, the lime color is a bit exotic, but I personally don't mind it too much. I really like this new passenger train.
I'm warming to it. The lime stands out well in a busy city too!
The colour is the exact same colour as the commuter rail where I live! Look up GO transit trains.
'Pointy-ness' was my concern, so thank you for the guidance there!
Yes it has a high hairline but the pointyness is at acceptable levels, haha!
The way Ms. Hood described the front of it is actually pretty correct, that round section would open up to reveal a coupler so they could run them in doubles (or triples, too!)
Ahhh, makes sense. Good train facts!
i honestly thought it looked like a fish head
Buffet Lady faceprint decisions 😂😂. Alright alright, alright! bring on the Robin-style mods 😃🍿
The conductor lady face had me rolling on the floor, lol. Thanks for that Robin! Great review as always too.
Glad the joke landed. It tickled me!
Hi Robin, can‘t wait for a modification where you convert the engine car at the end of the train (yes, I will buy two sets 😀) into a control car, which has a normal cab but also includes seating. Same as you did before with passenger train 60197. That would be so awesome! 😎
I copied that and made the same for our 60197- it's fab!
Hi Robin yay I finally. Got it. This passenger train. Saved $65 on special sale. From toy R us.just got it delivers 2day ago. Now building it. As I re Waching this vid again 😊 I am adding few extra touche s to it ..😊
Fantastic!
Another train!!! At this point Its not surprising. I assume you can no longer fit them on the tracks all together.
No chance. Maybe if none are moving, just!
Wow your city is amazing, what a great place to live for mini figures
Thanks so much. Yes, there's a lot going on, that's for sure!
I like it much better”in person”. With three more cars it would be a very dynamic addition to your city. Love it.
It's on its way!
Can't wait! I've been on the fence with this set so I wonder if after watching this review my mind will change! It does look nice but idk something is a bit off about it plus I have other sets prioritised.
Well after the review video I plan to amend, fix and add to it to make it better. Then you might want it!
@@RobinHoodBricks Probably!
I think the lime color looks great in your city. You have so much color in your city and I think the lime is a great addition. Keep up the good work!
Yes, the line shows up well against everything else. It looks better than I thought!
My favorite thing about the box art on this train set is the double-arched glass station in the background. I wonder if you could make a reduced version of that for Brick Nottingham. It would suit this wonderful train perfectly!
Just saw my son build the city passenger it’s so cool and the express looks great also bullet train I dig the colors
Thanks very much. Careful, buying trains can lead to a large LEGO collection!
I laughed out loud near the end, when the new train came through the station twice in the time it took for the cargo train to pass through once!
Your city looks great and the train really stands out among the other trains and buildings.
Thanks so much. Very kind!
Hi Robin, I am sure you will make modifications to it, hope your train will become a full train instead of a half train like that lego makes
Oh it will. The second half is ordered but not here yet!
Thanks for your review of this set Robin. I had been curious about this new Train (tho not out in the States til Aug 1) and now seeing your video has helped me to think about this more for sure. It does look pretty good and look forward to seeing your tweaks!
Wow, it actually fits on your layout! I really appreciate the comparison shots between the other trains, and I’m very eager to see what you end up doing to improve it even more!
O M G i love your lego room!!!!!!
Oh thank you. Check out my full tour video on 31 December!
I personally really like the train. I think the colour choice is bold and makes it stand out.
I can’t wait to your improvement’s.
Also with the head, could that be a printing error?
I love the color
I'm always fascinated when Lego put out something expensive and it has such clear design flaws. Obviously it can't be perfect at this scale, but Robin's moc trains show what can be done! It's nice to see a new front style and colour though, even if both are a bit much!
Very true. I think the cargo train, especially that container wagon, is even less inventive. I'm passing on that one!
@@RobinHoodBricks me too. I love the forklift on the cargo train, but I've already got the yellow and red ones.
Amazing not only the train but the amount of Lego sets you have .must of cost a heck of a lot of cash for all that ..I too love Lego but nothing to this stage ..fab
And it keeps growing, haha!
Hello it’s Adrian again
Your so lucky to have a new passenger train hope you will have fun.
Hi looks good at the moment
It's a fun video for sure. Funny too!
Love the train, just wish it came with a trailer unit!
That's LEGO telling you to buy a second set!
7:40 That one!
Looks sick
I like the look of this better in your city than I did just seeing the pictures of it on its own. It probably won’t tempt me as I can’t justify another train - especially as I am just about to rip up what is left of the existing track for a revamp of Blockville’s Old Town! 😱
They often look better in a real life setting. Good luck with the revamp!
@@RobinHoodBricks the only thing I’m interested in is the minifigure with coral coloured legs for one of my ongoing Monofigure Habitats 😂
Do you want one of mine? I have a second train coming so could send it to you? Email me with your address, if you want it!
@@RobinHoodBricks thanks, that would be fab. Have sent you a message via Instagram as I can’t immediately find your email address here. 😃
I really like this train because they finally included doors for the train
Check out all the trains from the 80s and 90s. They had even better doors!
A great review--can't wait for suggested modifications and improvements--especially to the doors! I really want full-height doors that minifigures, bikes, and wheelchairs can pass though, but with a different opening mechanism.
I don't tend to like opening doors, as long as they look like they would open. Easily done though with bars and robot arms like in any of the 8-wide jets. Check out some of their instructions!
@@RobinHoodBricks To each his own!
Wow, it looks great, I wonder how it looks running in your city. I can't wait!
It... Looks... Awesome!
Hello everyone my name is Oumar and I'm a Robinhood Bricks addict it's been two days since my last viewing and I very much need another fix!
Lol you will be here a while
@Robinhood Bricks I thought earlier in the week when you said something from lego was coming I thought you got the friends theater set. But this is even better. Keep up the great videos.
Yeah, I can't get it all at once so I figured this was more important!
First things are first, ditch both the new wheels and the wheelchair access.
Second things are second, upgrade to 9V if one has that sort of system.
And third, do something about those new doors, really just not very train like, now are they?
And fourth, will somebody please figure out a way to fix the new Lego City School? It needs both a roof and a wall on the second floor. Also needs to ditch the solar panels for Brickonium Energy Crystal Power Boxes.
Yep, good job. In other news, would you consider a massive triple funnel, coal fired, minifig scale, unitary hull ocean liner for your city? I’ve got designs if your interested. A tad expensive, but that’s to be expected for something in the 1800 piece category.
I agree on the doors and the wheels. I have similar plans for those.
Happy and very interested to take a look at the ship plans via email but no promises I'll build it!
Excited to see the RHB modifications. Since it's lime it should be the conquest line. You forgot to open the naming game LOL . I vote calling it the Alien 👽 Commander and change the conductor to an👾👽 conductor
My favourite things about this train are the doors and the front, they make it much more, well better
What an amazing city - much less the awesome new train!
I did a full tour last January!
Now I can’t I see the snake head. Thanks Mrs Hood!
It freaks me out a bit!!
Cool city and train system
Thanks very much. Try the full city tour from January!
2:02 aight imma use my tony hawk skills real quick dont mind me
Do you have a picture of Richard Hammond for your profile? Or are you a lookalike?!
@@RobinHoodBricks Yes I do have a Profile Pic of Richard Hammond. I wouldnt even have the skills to be a lookalike xD
It looks like a Japanese Shinkansen (bullet train). I really like that. Japan Railways is really top notch in case of trains!
Yeah, they are next level!
Great review Robin can't wait till Friday !
Wow, I'm really liking this new train the more I see it. I can't wait to see all your improvements my friend. I'll be sure to take notes. I think I would definitely need 2 of the sets to make one long high speed train. Fantastic video as always
At last! Doors! We've built the previous passenger train 60197 and my then 7 year old said "but there are no doors ...." I've ordered this new passenger train and I'll see how east it would be to add the doors to 60197- maybe you could MOC it for us, as I feel you are maybe, just maybe, more experienced than me!
If you watch the next video in this series I add doors but they don't open. This is my preference. That technique could be used on all these trains. By the way, don't look at all your cars and trucks. Most of them don't have doors either!
@@RobinHoodBricks That makes sense. I watched your other video. I thought the doors "look" good. This is the adult v play worlds colliding. My 8 year old likes doors that open. I've got the Emerald Night carriage that has opening doors- why didn't they add those to the Hogwarts Express!
At least, with LEGO, you can fix that!
Looks gorgeous Robin, absolutely needs more carriages to fit it's zooming! Looking forward to it mate!!
Looks great in your city, I can’t wait to see what modifications you do to it!
Yes, several videos will be coming soon, starting Monday I hope!
Mr Hood your LEGO city is EXACTLY how a LEGO city should look! I have one of my own and it is vast, but your city is so dense and colourful with a very good balance between official sets and MOCs. One look at it and I can safely say it is my favourite LEGO city on RUclips! Quick question: what's it called?
Thank you so much. Very nice to hear from a dedicated LEGO fan. It's called Brick Nottingham as I am Robin Hood!
@@RobinHoodBricks Thanks for answering :-)
Not bad. The fact that the carriages have doors at all is a bonus. I might pick this up discounted.
I did not like it until I saw your first video on it. Now seeing it on your city makes me want to get a copy ASAP.
I wasn't sure either but I quite like it now!
Awesome video and i can't wait to see your custom carriages for this new train
What a set up, love it!
There's a video on everything you see!
Really appreciate the review Robin. This will be a fun one to get when it arrives in the states on Aug 1.
It's weird you have to wait so long!
I would get this set but I just don't have the room to add a new passenger train to my city right now when this set arrives in August for me. I will be getting 2 older train sets though this weekend that are actually the 2 remaining sets on my life long lego wanted list ever since I got into lego when I was 7 years old thanks to lego batman the video game from 2008 and those sets are 10254 winter holiday train from 2016 in and 10259 winter village train station from 2017. I always wanted a steam train displayed and to make it lego will make it even better.
When I get this I’m modifying this into a loco and commuter coaches
I'll be doing lots of mods too. Coming soon!
This is a really cool 🚆
Thanks so much!
@@RobinHoodBricks your welcome
Hello mate, thanks for the great review, i just purchased one. Bit pricey as you said but it will be my first train. Hopefully i can get it right 👌 cheers mate thanks again
Be careful. Everything I have started with a white passenger train. It takes hold of you, haha!
Funny thing is, lime is my favorite LEGO color, and bullet trains are my favorite type of train, so this feels like an incredible set to me. I was saddened that a lot of people didn't like the images at first.
very nice review. I'm no train fan so it's not for me, but it's always great to hear the thoughts of someone who is not only a train expert, but a MOC train expert :)
This train is awesome! Too bad I will only be able to buy it in September 😂
The lime train cars remind me of the ride I took from Utica to the Yankee Stadium, when they did add the food cart at Albany it was really that high!
Good lego set
It sure is. And even better with my improvements!
Love the train and the lime green
Great review and this set has surprised me, it looks way better then my first impression.
I guess you already have a second set to make it have a front and a back; and you are already thinking to add a carriage with a panorama view 😃.
That’s like every kids dream lol
It sure was / is mine!
I like your creations
Great to hear your enthousiasm about the new train!!! I just bought the yellow - blue one becouse I think this one is nog going to fit trough my tunnel. And fomo and it was on sale 😅
That is the train I’m interested in. But you folks in Europe gets a head start with these new sets. In North America we have to wait till August 1st to get the new trains.
morning Robin .hay he's got the new train in. 😊🎉👌💪the Lego .from Lego has arrived ..I get mine in 2 day s. 😊..
Enjoy!
@@RobinHoodBricks Shaw will thanks 😊👍 man.
Just from the thumb nail, I really want this set
Looks really great, might pick it up, i hope the next lego city passenger train is based on either the class 43 hst or class 91
Fingers crossed. Check out my latest video for how I amended it totally!
Great review - Personally have no problem with the colour... I actually quite like the lime green... however, I hate the look of the front.
Look forward to your upgrades though.
👍
I love LEGO
I think the carriages could be converted in to a wicked DMU!
That could be very nice, although a bit of a waste of the current locomotive. It'd also work better on 9V track so a battery box isn't required!
@@RobinHoodBricks The lack of a box would be much better.
Can't wait for the next video
I for one can't understand why LEGO can't finally switch to 8-brick wide trains... this would leave SO much more scope for awesomeness... 6 is just not enough.
Cost. A train set is already very expensive for many. Also six wide is plenty good enough for kids!
I think that with the length of the nose, the engine carriage needs to be lengthened, it looks very short with the long nose
Suggestion: If you're making a moc of this thing, Try adding an abbatoir car for a dining car.
Is it too pointy??!!!! Love it. I had same thoughts, glad it looks ok and will go round exisitng tracks!
Haha, yes. I had visions of it sweeping over all my details between the tracks!
@@RobinHoodBricks love the fact you did a simple comparison of previous trains. The new one is an optical illusion! It will fit!
Idea: instead of another engine for and end car/wagon, you could put something different like a cab car.
In vienna the CAT (City Airport Train) is also "lime" (+black +white) so the color does not bother me too much (or is it colour?) ;)
Colour for me. Yes it's a good combination that's for sure. Modifications coming very soon!
I also was wondering if you made a HST class 43 British train cause I want to make one.
this set is nice, i wish i had one 😎
I feel your pain. It's a bit pricey!
If you think the front looks like snake and it being green, you should call the Serpent Express.
The first time I saw picture's of this train I didn't like the lime green really, but like a fungus it's growing on me and now I want to get it lol
The bike and Seats stickers was at the wrong side👍🏻
Lovely review, was nice to see so much detail from this set. I'm still on the fence about trains, just recently starting my lego city and looking into getting a train for it in the foreseeable future, but for a starter train would you choose this one or 60197? The price difference is obviously there, though it is not a dealbreaker for me. Neither is the color scheme, though I too may find this one to be a bit too lime and flashy, it's not a huge problem.
Also very excited to see any modifications you do to this! :)
Hello, I love your town. How did you manage to get the little guys to move on the railcar, hooked to the big train that passes at the bottom of the yellow station, please? thanks you. It’s for my young son
There is a video for everything in my city. The pump wagon is on my Train playlist and shows you how to make it!
@@RobinHoodBricks Thank you very much I didn’t see. That’s great thanks for your channel 💜
Robin did they include an appropriately colored 1 by 2 tile that goes on the Remote like they did last time I must know
No, they didn't actually. Easily fixed though!
Meh.... I like your ideas for variants, but this train doesn't turn me on. How do the wheels perform? Magnets still the same as before? Having plastic between the magnets means the magnets lose power and need charging (I use strong magnets and put them between the trains).
I think the wheels are worse but they haven't shown it yet. The buffers are exactly the same. On longer trains I use a 1x2 grille tile to hold the two magnets together on the stud on the tops of the actual magnets. This works very well indeed!
Name it the slitherthin from Harry Potter cuz the logo is a snake and it’s green
I like the overall shape of the front of the locomotive, but the front bogie is too small. Also, That huge expanse of lime green above the front bogie would be a good place for the locomotive number. That said, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you'll be doing with this set.
This is like Thale bullet train (Italian train)
I prefer the new style train wheels. With heavier trains there is less binding around the corners and the trains don’t slow down as much in my experience.
*I WANT MINE!!!*
August where are you? 😢
UK, we were June!
You could call it the Viper
Its only half the train to complate it you need to get a 2nd set of it.
The second face on the lady fig is a pity face. We literally get a wheelchair and gaps and no stairs. This is trolling us.
Yeah, that sucks!
I think you'll need more tracks!
Technically I do, but I've tried to build a balanced city and tracks take a lot of space!
