From one Seattle native to another..you're the best Baby Gramps!!! I saw you in 1990 at the Oregon Country Fair under a tree in the grass playing this song..what a great day in my otherwise struggling vagabond days! Thank you!
I just wish he gave up the groove a little more without breaking it up so often, he plays so well. I just want to dance in a circle swinging arms with people towards the middle.
Yep not his actual singing voice you can tell its all an act to sound tht way for effect. Never saw him until tonight on PBS. I don't get it at all and I like all kinds of music from Classical to pop to Blues, Hard Rock, Jazz and everything in between but this is just crap.

There’s more than one baby gramps?
This performance is now part of my class on Folklore. Just achingly beautiful.
Loved him live in Seattle on the streets back in the day. Incredibly entertaining. His humor and showmanship were infectious. Anyone remember?
Apparently punk rock was invented on Big Rock Candy Mountain about 95 years ago.
I miss being able to see him live anymore.
Always a great performer.

Baby Gramps is still performing and has a home page, and the obligatory wiki entry.
Interesting, in a few spots, he’s doing throat singing similar to what you could find in places like Central Asia.
