- Here's a delightful animated adventure that your kids will enjoy again and again! Ray Bolger-the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz-voices Uncle Amos, a "good egg" who spins the heart-warming tale of Mama and Papa Doppler. IN danger of losing their farm to greedy Tobias Tinwhiskers, the Dopplers get help from Peter and the Magic Egg! Peter sings to his friends-Feathers the Duck, Cotton the Rabbit and Terrance the Turtle-and, in return, the animals help him to foil old Tinwhisker's plans.

That's me! Apparently this was one of those things that was lurking dormant in my mind for more than 30 years, only for the name Peter Paas to jump out of my thoughts and I had to search on RUclips.
I remember seeing this as a little kid and not being able to find it for years until today

I remember this was so popular at that for years the animals had their images on the easter egg coloring kits.
The eggs came first. This movie was to sell the dye kits better. Promotional video.
When I was younger, I did the kit too.
The film is basically a commercial for Paas egg dye kits.

Wasn't there candy as well? I remember these flat easter candies that were shaped like lambs and stuff, the bottom was chocolate and the top part was mint or white chocolate or peanutbutter.

The Doppler's parent-like relationship with Peter in this reminds me of Spider-Man (also a Peter 😂) and his uncle & aunt.

Ray Bolger in this is just as good as Thurl Ravenscroft (Tony the Tiger) in the Brave Little Toaster.

I think we got this video with our Paas coloring kit one year. My kids LOVED it!
I never got the video and kit together. Although I remember watching the video in school.
Uncle Amos kinda reminds me of Jiminy Cricket (Pinocchio) because of his almost-similar appearance and way of talking

This is random and specific, but... One thing I never forgot was how the camera jump-cuts to Cotton for all performances of “Animals Can Be Like Folks.” I always thought it was odd how they focused on him. It’s a weird thing for me to cling to, I know! 😅 Of course, the other thing I never forgot was Tinwhiskers himself. So memorable, and, holy cow, does he play dirty for land!
Having revisited this, I can honestly say that my favorite thing is the Mother Nature song. Thanks for uploading this! 😄
It's probably because Cotton is a bunny, and bunnies are an Easter thing. Also, it might just be stock footage because the special had the budget of a sandwich.

I loved this special so much as a kid, and I've continued to watch it every Easter since I rediscovered it! I really wish they could have done more with this franchise!

I remember the characters where used for years in Easter Egg kits. I wonder if they still use them?
I’m sure they do.
All except Lollichop the Lamb are still used on Paas's packaging and website with updated character designs, though only Feathers the Duck still has her original name. At some point, Cotton the Rabbit and Terrance the Turtle were renamed to Paws and Shelly, respectively.
