I have to say, the 7P's USB-C dongle might be one of the dumbest design choices I've ever seen. Why on Earth would you design the plastic to cover the other USB port on the front for literally no reason? What a crazy dumb choice they made.
@@ItsSamuelJonesyeah but then either way you’re still taking up a USB port lmao if it would’ve had a smaller dongle or a better designed dongle you could have all of your USB ports available
I've recently bought the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X due to it's multi-platform connectivity, the fact that it has a dongle ánd an aux cable for wired use and mostly, because of many experienced people saying it's a good headset. Sadly for me, mine has some issues and I don't know how to fix them (yet). Firstly, when I record a video on my PS5 and watch it back later, (EA FC 24) my voice sounds a bit elektronic during random moments every several sentences despite me lowering the mic volume to 50% or so because of the max mic level being too loud and my voice then making the mic pop. I haven't heard the many, many tech youtubers I watched mention this problem at all. The mic also doesn't sound like a 150 dollar headset level mic but more like a budget headset's mic. I've also used the Steelseries GG app's engine to adjust the settings, including the mic, to make them better based on tech youtubers' tips. The headset also occasionally loses connection with the dongle whether I use the extension cord with it or the dongle on it's own despite the fact that I'm only a couple of meter away from the dongle. My brother has the same headset and we use ours simultanuously on PS5 to make video's for ourselves and he has more of a static hiss when his headset is on while I experience more of a robot voice during every few words used in every few sentences. Does anyone have any useful solutions to maybe help make this headset worth it's cost?
I don’t use the regular usb on the front. I have a charger stand for my controller so it’s always charged and if it wasn’t I have it to where my headset and controller can be charged with a cable from my bed on a wall outlet. So I just have the headset dongle in the front. Works for me.
If I connect the nova7p with analog jack to the ps5 controller without using the dongle at all, will the changes I made in eQ on the computer via the dongle be valid?
Do the Nova 7, Nova 7P and Nova 7X all work on the other console too whether wireless or wired? For offline use on Xbox Series X and PS5 for making videos, would you say the Nova 7X's game-chatmix is more useful or the Nova 7P's side-tone wheel if you had to choose 1 and what feature does the regular Nova 7 have? I've also heard that the Nova 7, Nova 7P and Nova 7X's mic wants to move upwards on it's own which means you have to adjust it each time. Is this true?
I have just got mine today, and i need help with something if u have any idea about it, when i connect the USB c to the playstation then turn off the headset itself, why would the dongle still be on ? Its annoying and i cannot figure it out, i updated the headset with their steelseries GG but its still the same, if anyone has any idea about it, would really appreciate it !
13:07 Does anyone know if when connected to the PS5 wirelessly and wired, does the mute button on the dual sense mute the microphone of the headset? Ideally would like to use the controller to toggle the mute state instead of clicking the physical toggle on the mic.
no, any headset will work on the ps5 when being used wired, the 7x will work wired and wireless on ps5 like most other headsets. But some other xbox wireless headsets won't work on ps5
Get the stealth 700 gen2 for something cheaper but does pretty much the same. 20hrs of battery life tho. And the built is kinda ass since its still a plastic headset so keep that in mind… But you cant complain when they go for $79.99 right now and sound great
I just got this headset but the only problem is on ps5 I cant lower the levels between game chat and the game volume, i like to have the game volume up high but keep my friends on the quiet side. Sucks
Thinking bout buying these...The only thing that worries me is the mic sound and the point that you can't replace the mic. Can you mute the headset with the ps5 controller mute button?
@@Salute503 yes and I can confirm you can mute the headset with the controller also. Mic sound is pretty good and these use USB c to charge. I think the noise cancelling needs work though, may be able to change that in their app or whatever.

It's mainly cosmetic.. Xbox uses some chat thing that I believe has some feature on the side that won't work on PS5. That's the only real difference to my understanding
Bluetooth has a much higher latency so you wouldn't want them too. the dongle reduces that delay. Even playstation use dongles with Their pulse headsets and Sony do with the Inzone series.. the bluetooth is for other devices that don't need the low latency like your phone etc.

No usb c on back of system
It does come with a usb-A adapter

The design itself is bad by making it wide, I don’t mind it looking a usb stick as long as it is not affecting other ports

I know right!
But can you listen to the PS5 and PC at the same time?
If your pc has bluetooth, yes you can.
So it still sounds like Steel has not added any chat mix volume to their Arctics 7
GadgetryTech has some awesome EQ settings on that in GG software

I can hear my own voice through the headphones when the microphone is on. Is that normal?
