You yuppies need to quit making videos. One of these, the Ford Durango, was never produced. This one is a prototype. Nobody hates the Jeep Comanche. While International Harvester was a nitch pickup with niche-like sales, nobody hated it. Crew Cabs were never volume sellers until the last 5 years or so. You can't say military vehicles were "hated", as they were not produced for the civilian market, they were produced strictly for the military and were made for specific purposes, not going to the grocery store. Nobody hates 56 Chevy pickups. They are hotly desired. Nobody hates Plymouth pickups, as they are duplicates of Dodge pickups, except for the grille. Nobody hates the Jeep Gladiator pickup. You people should stick to rice trucks.

I hear you and some had quirks and technology is good at times but set your cellphone out on porch in sun and find a old rotary phone ( if they had service) see how that works in a hour, the custom made baby ranchero wannabe any of us an our buddies can cut a Ltd, monarch,Fairmont, stupid Lil mercury zephyr 😅 I think I may be missing one. 😮 but the 4.9 l v8 😂 cracks me up. The couldn't kill the 4.9l I6 the (video should of said) on the cash for clunkers I hear. I really didn't think the Ole 0 to 60 in a day and a half 6.2 was in them ancient trucks either but not 100% I thought they made that mistake of turning the 400 into a deisel later. I'd take any of them even tho I'm not the most particular to anything but ford . All have ups and downs. I'm feeling this junk 5w20 and 0w20 oil that's thinner than water on our newer stuff is to get them to wear prematurely due to some predecessors being to reliable anyone have opinions or information on the new engines not running like the ones 10-20 years back.

If they were truly “the most hated pickups”, sellers would be practically giving them away. I haven’t priced any, but my gut tells me there’s a robust market out there for the ‘80s Ford Bronco II!!!

I was a farm kid. In 1964, my dad bought a J200 Gladiator 4x4 with the tornado motor. It was a really good truck. He was among the first in our area to own a 4wd pickup. We kept that truck and it is still sitting on our old farm rusting away. My dad switched to Fords in the late 60’s and early 60’s. In 1976, he bought a Dodge Power Wagon pickup 4x4. It was the biggest piece of crap he ever had. 2 years later, he got a Jeep Honcho Levi edition. It was a pretty truck but it also was a piece of crap. I think it only lasted a couple years. He was a Chevy/GMC guy through the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s. They were good trucks. My first car was a 1977 GMC Sierra Classic SWB 2 wheel drive. It was a couple years old when I got it. My dad must have liked it because that’s about the time he switched to GM. I own a 1969 Chevy C10 now. It’s been sitting since 1998. I’ve just started restoring it this past week.

Plus the Companies stopped making them or in case of the Intrnational weren't luxury inclusive enough but then again they stopped making them since they weren't making enough money to keep making them so they went back to just Tractor trailer based vehicles. Studebacker stopped making trucks soon after the Champ, which is car based to start with, went to Canada, made cars for a few more years and folded the Company because they retired from it. The Jimmy El Camino was stopped because the Company didn't want to make the same car from two Companies, GM just wanted to compte against Ford's Ranchero. Jeep never really wanted to actually build a truck. The Durango is a Ute and Ford was at the beginning of getting rid of all of it's nonluxury cars that wasn't a Mustang. The Plymouth was made for only so many years. Ask Chevy why they didn't put their Military trucks on the road. The Dodge D-50, (Mitsubishi) was underpowered. The Crosley was considered a go cart. And the Chevy SSR was not only underpowered for customer choice but the Camaro was killed off to make it, (Same assembly line.) so yes it was hated.

Poorly researched. Strange music plays throughout. I would almost prefer the music being turned up to the annoying narration. Every single vehicle in the video has been done to death by this channel as well as the dozens of others that copy off of each other. Bronco II is not a pickup truck. Just because it's based on a Ranger doesn't make it a pickup truck.

Lol the 1955 to 1959 chevy 3100 was, and still is, one of Americas favorite trucks. It out paced ford through those years. True, that is was a little more expensive, but not by much for what they got! Comparatively back in the day. But if you went with the base model, it was right at the same price as comparable trucks.

I was going to comment on the inaccuracies of this piece, but where does a person start, and end,the Gladiators AMC ,Buick, and new AMC style engines were very reliable, and good quality manual transmissions, and THM 400,and Torqueflight 727 automatics, and the 55-9 GM trucks, along with the Studebaker trucks and the GMC Sprints were, and are still quite desirable today. To me what is so irritating is the lack of research,so a person who knows nothing on these vehicles are being introduced to a bunch of horse crap inaccuracies.

    Running mistakes.
1 Ford Durango was not a truck. Trucks by definition have a full frame under them and it was unibody.
2 Again SSR is not a truck. No frame but unibody
3 Jeep trucks are extremely sought after today, back in the day they were a neachs truck for Jeep fans,
4 the Travelette was well received but made in small numbers. This limited production killed International.
5 not even a truck at all. BTW you butchered the name of the engine.
6 Made for military use and not a pickup.
7 never gave any proof of being disliked
8 again no evidence they were ever disliked
9 the gladiator because of being four wheel drive like others four wheel drives were unpopular back in the day as the extra cost and wear made them to much for most owners. Four wheel drives never caught on until the 1980's with the vast majority of people choosing two wheel drive options.
10 the D50 was garbage not made for north america.
11 Studebaker lacked modern design right across the board which lead to decreased sales
12 even a broken clock gets the time right twice a day. this is pretty right.
13 the bronco two had good sales but wasn't a pickup at all. It competed with the GM S10 Jimmy and Blazer line which also had good sales.
Over all this video was a complete failure. As is the channel.

I believe Chevrolet could have at least doubled, if not tripled sales if the had made more than one version. A 6L V8, convertible was your only choice. I don't remember if there was a manual/automatic option. Imagine if they made a version with a couple more inches of ground clearance, the 5.3L V8, less bulge for the wheel opening and a smaller tire package with the same size on all 4 corners. Finally, get rid of the bed carpeting so it could be used like a pickup. Sell it for at least $5k less than the top version. Then make the same pair except these do NOT have a retractable roof. Hot rod version and version that mortal man can afford. Obviously, these would be priced lower than the retractables. Nope, not GM, it's either go big or go home.
They did the same thing when they brought the Aussie built GTO out the following year over at Pontiac. Imagine how many more could have been sold either labeled as a Tempest or Lemans (or both) with smaller power, lesser trim inside, a smaller V8 in the Lemans and a 3.8L V6 in the Tempest. All of the manufacturers worldwide do almost everything by platform sharing. IMHO, they could've done better in both cases.
