    I think this would have been perfect for King's Island to put in the former spot of Vortex, but there are lots of other places it could have gone too... ValleyFair hasn't had a major new coaster since 2007. SF St Louis got a relocated Boomerang 10 years ago and is still stuck with a 35 year old piece of crap old-school Vekoma looper.

    I do agree with you that those other 3 parks could have used it better. They really need a standout out coaster.

    Valleyfair is slipping into an embarrassment of an amusement park, especially when compared to what the park used to be. Ride operations are painfully slow and everything has this dingy, filthy look to it. I get grossed-out when looking at and using the restraints on so many of the rides, like do they ever actually clean the dirt and grime off!?! There's no possible way to deny it, this park started circling the drain a few years ago! With the 50th anniversary coming, there isn't even a glimmer of hope that VF will be eligible to receive a major new attraction to celebrate and hopefully be revitalized :(

      I was there this year just for a couple of hours the weather was ghorrible but it was dry for the first 3 hours so the place was empty. It looked really nice and clean then but they defently could use a new ride.

    I'm very intregued with the idea of CP having a tilt coaster since they listed it on their survey a few months back as a Hyper Tilt, as it was ment to overtake SFQ's Iron Rattler as a record breaking tilt coaster. Although it's a solid edition, most of the legacy SF and CF parks could certainly use one like Carowinds, SFMM, SFOT, WOF, KI and SFOG for example

  • @spentron1
    @spentron1 4 месяца назад +2

    But what other park needs it and could guarantee no problems opening in 2025? CP even opens later. Even KI would be a better fit though, lacking ejector air or a dive.

    • @elementoftheride
      @elementoftheride  4 месяца назад

      I think this would have been great for a smaller scale park who is missing a solid coaster. It could have gone to any park technically but I just think that it's design would fit best at one of the mid to smaller scale parks

    • @spentron1
      @spentron1 4 месяца назад +1

      @@elementoftheride yes it could have gone to any park, including possibly SFM for 2026. But by early summer next year, with gov't approvals etc.? They just went through that twice this year, got to be sick of all the delays. Hopefully this just means they'll buy more with better planning.

  • @otterkeeper13
    @otterkeeper13 4 месяца назад +2

    Just trust the plan. We are only 3 months post merger. SfGA and CWL are both still doing land clearing, not even sure footers are being poured yet. This area was already mostly cleared. We don’t know if it was offered to the other parks and they turned it down. Either for budget reasons or they already have plans in motion for 26/27/28. Most parks master plans are 10-20 year cycles.
    I would expect KI will have something big soon since it’s 50th will be in 2026. Carowinds has snoopy coaster for 2025.
    B&M dive is not the same as this. Sirens curse is more of a twister style vs b&m more swooping layout. The only running tilt in the world is over 20 years old. And sirens curse maybe the first of the new generation to open to the public. A 48 inch height requirement vs a 52 inch put it into a more family friendly end of the line up. To me it’s like comparing 2 different wooden coasters because they both are wood.
    Parks are all about balancing offerings. Legacy six flags forgot that long ago. The legacy six flags parks are going to need some TLC over the next couple of years to bring them back from years of questionable leadership. Come 2030 we definitely will have an idea if sf and cf merger was a good idea.

    Here's the thing in retrospect.
    Cedar Point did effectively increase season pass sales for 2025 to make up for their reliability issues in 2024, but here's the thing.
    If Cedar Point isn't able to open Sirens Curse in a reasonable time then it will backfire in a harsh manner.
    If Top Thrill 2 and Sirens Curse aren't open by 4th of July, it is going to be a nightmare for Cedar Point PR.
    Plus now the construction/maintenance teams at the park have to juggle both Top Thrill 2's improvements and Sirens Curse construction.
    If anything this is a massive gamble and only time would tell if it pays off.

    • @arturobianco848
      @arturobianco848 4 месяца назад

      I don't think CP has to do much for TT2 thats more Zamperla's problem you are however correct that it will be a nightmare for the park if both don't work. Well i resceduled my tripp for next year to 2026 so it should be running by then.

    • @roxynano
      @roxynano 4 месяца назад

      @@arturobianco848 It would still be a nightmare if Top Thrill 2 is operating but now the new Sirens Curse coaster isn't open until late in the season.
      There is barely anything in the ride area now with construction so it is just a massive gamble to get it open in time.
      If they didn't do Sirens Curse next year and Top Thrill 2 opens full time, then people would view 2025 as a net positive.
      However if Top Thrill 2 is fully open yet their new coaster Sirens Curse isn't available to ride, that would still be very frustrating to the guests.
      This is just a very high stakes gamble for the park.

    Great points but I'd like to add a compromise, because I have a question, is Cedar Point replacing a coaster with Siren's Curse? If so, what's their least popular coaster? Rougarou? There are some coasters that are getting too old and losing parts availability like Iron Dragon. Cuz the compromise I can come up with here is relocating a lesser popular coaster to struggling parks like Great Escape/Michigan's Adventure/Darian Lake while SC gets built at Cedar Point. Could you imagine Gemini for example being saved by a smaller park? Silverwood did that for one of the Deja Vue rides, and I believe a Corkscrew model was saved by a smaller park as well. Michigan's Adventure's last coaster was a relocated Vekoma SLC, iirc. Obviously I wouldn't want Cedar Point to get rid of Blue Streak, Corkscrew, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, or their kiddie coasters.

    • @elementoftheride
      @elementoftheride  4 месяца назад

    If the rumors are true and this is coming from Mexico… I’d assume CP was the only park who thought they could build it quick enough to get it open for 2025!
    Most parks aren’t set up as well as CP for a tough, last minute job like this. I’m sure everyone at SF and CP knows it would be a better fit somewhere else…. I’m sure it is going there because that’s the only place that can open it for 2025. I doubt this has anything to do with TT2, they just don’t want it laying on the ground for potentially several years while SFMX struggles with the Mexican Government, as it won’t be making them any money.
