My company would love one of these - would save a fortune on the machine engraving + inking we have to do, although I think we'll have to hold off this year - Great technology Roland, and a very informative video, thank you.
Hi @Danny Ward - we wouldn't recommend printing t-shirts on a VersaUV LEF-300. If that's the application you're looking to print, drop us a line: marketing@rolanddg.co.uk - we'll be more than happy to help.
Hello MD! The VersUV Flatbed Printer is truly amazing! At Frames 2:43 and 4:29 , looks like they're saying to mount/embed your phone cases as level/flush as possible inside your "mass produce printing" Phone Case Jig to help prevent overspray. I can easily apply a similar technique to my traditional Paasche Airbrush Projects.
Hi Adnan, if you could email us with your contact info and an explanation with the file of the jig that you have had made we can see if we can help. marketing@rolanddg.co.uk thanks
Some actual instructions on how to set up a jig file in AI would be great. The video needs to be much more in depth. I am not sure that all laser cutting machines can produce jigs that can work with roland uv printers. We have used our laser cutter for years and whatever we do we cannot get the jig to marry up with the print! It is always 5mm out. We have tried different software and no luck. Getting so frustrated with it. Some simple instructions would really help as it may be something wrong we are doing with the file. Please help Roland and please provide more in depth videos that actually show how to do something instead of a video that merely skims over the subject it would be really great!
Thanks for the feedback Anna, This video was a bit of an overview for people to get a broad understanding of jigs. With many products and template varieties it is hard to do a full how-to from the design side. We do have another short jig video that may help? ruclips.net/video/eWb-IJC1zmY/видео.html&t
Hi excuse me I'm interested in buying the Roland uv lef 20 Just I'd like to know if this printer can be used to print tshirts??? And how is the printing quality on tshirts...? Thanks..
Hi Ramiro, You can print onto some fabrics, but not garments to be worn on the skin due to the ink absorbing into the material it may not cure 100% and uncured UV ink should not go on your skin.
Hiya, normally it would be advisable to create your layouts using a vector based package (like Illustrator) however you could also use Photoshop. You would just need to create shapes that relate to the print area/outline of your items and lay them out on an artboard the same size as the print area of your printer.
@@RolandDGEMEA Thanks. I have Coreldraw. So I create a boundary of the item I'm printing on in there, what width of print area do you recommend? Do I then export as a jpeg to photoshop?
@@r-joule It will depend on what printer you have, and how many of each item you want to print at once. But if you have an LEF-300 for example and you want to fit as many as you can on to a page you would make your artboard 770x330mm and export as eps or pdf. Use the outline as your template and then use the same file to add the graphics, remove the outlines and export as eps or pdf again for print! Just make sure your export is at full print size, i.e. 770x330 so you may need a bounding box.
@@RolandDGEMEA Thanks. Any chance you could do a on screen video of you making one of these print templates? It would be very helpful as there are no videos on this subject and very little on uv printing in general. Thanks

Hi IDTB, it depends on the design, print mode and size of the case. If you would like to send us a design file we can calculate the ink usage for you if that helps?

Hi Adnan, we made one using the EGX-350. All you need is a 15mm ledge with a lip to overhang the edge of the bed. Contact a local engineering company?
