      By "problem", are you referring to the poor, or to the employer who doesn't pay enough to rent an apartment?

    You are standing in the middle of a homeless camp. What did you think was going to happen? Leave those people alone. If they want help they will go out on the highway. You are a problem they will show you the way out. Would you want homeless people to stumble on to your property and dump your rain water. Read the room or in this case "read the camp". Go away

    How did you not know? The wages are so low and rents continue to rise. Plus if you have been in any trouble you can't rent. You are in Palm Coast if you are between st. Aug and Daytona. This is quickly becoming the norm everywhere...

    it seems like people ended up here after leaving NOLA because of Katrina. families were just dropped of of busses onto I95 and I10... literally on the side of the road. these busses were supposed to bring the survivors to shelter.

    Decades ago people didn't need to be homeless. They had what they called "POOR HOUSES" in the country. Why don't they just buy a failing hotel and use it to offer shelter and sources. There's enough abandoned and unwanted properties that should sell to the county. Why not just do this?

    • @tigerstallion
      @tigerstallion 4 дня назад +1

      the county wont get their property taxes and theyll evict them back to the streets.
      Property taxes are one of the primary causes of homelessness - its free to stay in abandoned buildings, while the govt takes most all your money if you own it and improve it. Property taxes on abandoned buildings in my city start at 500/mo and go up if you improve the property. and many have "back taxes" if for some reason you want to buy one

    • @LorraineKrueger-o3b
      @LorraineKrueger-o3b 4 дня назад

      @@tigerstallion We the people need to create a bill and submit it to congress. Perhaps the bottom floor could be a coffee shop or something that creates enough revenue to sustain the cost of taxes operated by the homeless living there.

    • @tigerstallion
      @tigerstallion 4 дня назад +1

      @@LorraineKrueger-o3b how about instead of cities only accepting cash for property taxes, property owners could alternatively place solar panels, radio antennas, or some other public utility on their property? add to that the property owner serving as a volunteer street sweeper, firefighter, or any service the city would otherwise have to pay for -- I think there is enough value exchange to justify people to not be forced into homelessness, and for the currently homeless to take on the repair and maintenance of what are currently abandoned properties (which they should be allowed to do).
      we need draft policies at the fed, state, county, and city levels, plus a cultural movement to push it through
      also force landlords without tenants for more than 100 days to take on homeless tenants; they'll be forced to lower rent, sell, or house the homeless which is good for everyone (except the problematic property investors charging unreasonable rent)

    • @LorraineKrueger-o3b
      @LorraineKrueger-o3b 3 дня назад

      @@tigerstallion Some of these people have been so deteriorated that they need medical care, psychological counselor and treatment and just time to rejuvenate after the trauma they have been suffering.

    • @tdig6546
      @tdig6546 3 дня назад

      @@Grendhar in college I wrote a paper on homelessness and interviewed someone who was a director of the local homeless coalition and he said people become homeless from a lack of family support, then end up on drugs as a result of having to sleep on the street, they start drinking alcohol to be able to fall asleep on whatever hidden place they can find and become so hopeless they just fade into a shell of who they were. The few corporations that own the majority of apartment corporations around the county are slowly monopolizing the rents. Between this and the insurance companies sucking the life out of homeowners our society is becoming a mobile society living in vehicles and tents. Coupled with the rapid elimination of jobs to automation , homelessness is going to increase exponentially in coming years. There will only be rich or poor. The youth have a dismal future ahead of them.
