    God the 2016 version vs the 2022 version is giving me whiplash, it doesn't even look like the same person drew it!! your art has improved so drastically and violently that it's so hard to like, comprehend how much you've improved. I'm starting to have the same thing happen to my art, I'd look back on drawings I did in my early years of drawing and compare them to now and it's crazy!

    He looks so soft and squishy in this one
    He definitely looks more concentrated and less intimidating and has a much more hunter-like pose
    He also looks less like he is furry in sone places and just white skin in others, in this updated version he looks completely covered in fur, and the parts that are more/less fluffy are really well contrasted(?)
    All your art is really well made and looks really good and your art always gets better and better anyways
    I thought that it couldn’t get much better in 2020 but it still improves and the backgrounds have improved a lot you truly are pretty interesting :)

    Great video! It’s a really nice way to nocice one’s own improvement to redo a painting from the past.
    I actually don’t think the hands are bad at all. Every artist could use a good old hand study, but it’s not like those are terrible, either.
    One suggestions for next year’s painting: a good or bad pose in a drawing or painting has a lot to do with the precise point of view we are observing the character. I think the pose could use a bit more energy. You had a good strategy in building the 3D model, but I think that after you have an rough idea of the foreshortenhing of the pose, you could make use of another sketch tring to put more gesture in that post, than twik the model if needed and then start painting.
    Just some thoughts from a fan that’s already looking forward to the next version.

    • @RoseRedTiger
      @RoseRedTiger  Год назад +7

      ye i totally get what you mean, i noticed towards the end of painting that the energy wasn't quite as much as i had in mind, could have pushed that a bit more in the sketch, but i got to caught up in struggling with the face and hands to notice early enough

      @RoseRedTiger  Год назад +1

      yee, they're a bit difficult to make look good but i'm getting there. that being said i wouldn't say there's a right way to do them, since they're completely fantastical. For the most part things that walk upright have some form of plantigrade leg, some making anthro characters with digi legs means the artist has to decide how to mix the lags of quadrupeds with those of a human, and there's not one accurate way to do that

    This has given me a huge confidence boost. I’m currently in the place of trying to find an art style that fits me while also understanding anatomy and position of characters. The fact the your 2nd drawing compared to your 3rd has a Drastic art style change and you 3rd compared to your 4th shows you’ve learned how to position characters is amazing to me. I’ve realized how far I am on the learning track and know what needs to be learned at what step is helpful.

    • @RoseRedTiger
      @RoseRedTiger  Год назад +1

      all the best on your art journey.
      In my own personal experience, you don't find an artstyle, it finds you, as you learn more and more of the fundamentals you'll naturally find how you prefer to stylize them, plus there's no need to have just one art style. my lineart drawings look very different from my sketches which look different again from my painting, and it's fun to mix all of them up and just try stuff

    Thank you for including the arm guard. Many people don't and, as someone who eses a traditional bow, it puts me on edge. It is possible to rip open your arm (and hit THAT vein) with higher poundage bows. Even a 15 pounder leaves a big bruise. A hunting bow needs to be at least 30 pounds to really work.

    ultimately, i've been learning more art stuff
    aaaand, with that studies recentely made i've figured out the differences between the 3 previous arts and this new one!
    you've actually said in the begining of the video but observing the artworks side by side you can clearly see the difference that makes exploring poses in the begining of the processes!
    in my opinion, the 3 previous ones looks like a character appresentation art, and the 2020 one would be really great for that porpouse if it have the background cuttet
    and this new one looks more like a "peek" on the character routine
    i think that the 2020 one looks like a portrait that you would choose a place and make a pose to put that portrait over a wall on your bedroom or something like that
    while with the 2022 version i can easily imagine him seeing what he's seeking and running for it while crouched
    for me its a very important thing as i consider my art in the 2020 version
    you've did such a wonderful job!

    For the grease pencil, when you want to draw right on the face switch to orthigraphic mode first (5 on num pad), then the lines will sit right on the object.

    Idk I kinda like the 2020 version more, I think I like the colors and fluffy fur but I also really really like the face proportions on the 2022. I wish you made the 2022 version more fluffy tho, just a bias to fluffy things 😅. Though I like the back ground trees more in the 2022 one better than the 2020 but the ground in the 2020 version is 🤌 it’s beautiful and a bit better. Next time you draw this character you h a l f to combine the elements in the 2020 and 2022. It would look amazing in your art style. Also we need more eyeliner on the 2022 and neck fluff. Ok but imma take a moment to point out and appreciate how amazing that perspective is on the 2022, it’s beautiful and amazing I love it so so much you definitely improved on that, as well as the colors and swishy like wind stuff. Gorgeous!

    It’s such a beautiful painting. Look at the next time you draw this as you aren’t trying to top the last one anymore, rather, to use the new skills and tricks you will pick up throughout the next two years in the next one, as like a kind of milestone/showcase. Like how you didn’t use blender in the last one (idk if you used it before the 2020 one) and in this one you used blender.

      ye, it's really nice to explore my own process with stuff like this, I didn't use blender before this one, using 3d for my 2d art is something i've only recently really added to my process
