    FAQs:
    Q:Do you use a tablet for digital art?
    A: yes, I have a Huion kamvas 16(2021). I wouldn't recommend using a mouse for sculpting/ painting, it's really slow and kinda bad for your hands. A cheap pad tablet is pretty good to start with though, you don't need a fancy screen tablet.
    Q: will you make a tutorial?
    A: maybe, at some point. I'm still learning myself, and there are loads of people way more qualified to teach stuff.
    Q: How do you join 2 objects together in blender and smooth the transition?
    A: Joint the objects with ctrl+j, then remesh in sculpt mode using shift+r to set your mesh resolution and ctrl+r to apply

    I could literally take notes on how you design and draw your creatures.
    Also, I love the way you sketch! They have a lot of depth

    Idk why but the dragon designs remind me in one of the alien documentries movie. Other than that the artwork is so good.

    Hey, Rose! Been a quiet watcher for a while now, and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things myself after a long hiatus from art in general. Was wondering what brush size you tend to start at with the beginning-stage sketching, like for laying out potential designs? I'm having trouble finding a comfortable size of both brush and canvas, and I'm afraid I'm just way oversizing everything.
    Love your process, and I'm trying to see if something similar might work for me.

      @RoseRedTiger  Год назад +1

      For canvas i tend to start with 3000 and crop as needed, but i don't have a specific brush size, it really just needs to be small enough to capture whatever details I'm working on

      Oh wow yeah I'm going a bit overboard. Been starting at like 9000 for one of my dimensions, so maybe I should cut it down a bit, might help with the feel of the sketch. Thanks! :D

    I always love your designs!
    Now I know in the description they all have black bits but the way you drew it reminds me of male dimorphism in animals like birds and just a head canon of mine would be that females also have black on the tips of the spikes but it's a much smaller patch and the younger the female the more blue it is and for males the black is bigger and also a more deep black and unlike females they have that ring on the big spikes and with time the ring becomes more pronounced which can also be used to tell their age by how dark the black is. Also the big spikes could be smaller for females too, still there just not as long. Perhaps males could show off by facing each other and really puffing up their backs and scales and shaking them so they make clinking sounds and also roaring to intimidate the other male rather than fighting which wouldn't occur very often as said before they're pretty docile creatures and also it would just bring unnecessary injuries due to their size and power. Also, since they're very fast creatures I can imagine that the spikes aren't that heavy and maybe these creatures survive more by intimidating any predator that tries to go for the herd and escaping from anything that still goes for them. The spikes themselves would work as defense against smaller creatures but if anything close to their size attacked one that is alone the spikes could break and wouldn't offer quite that much protection, perhaps then they would attack with ice powers if the herd doesn't come back for them. I would imagine that the spikes could maybe be hollow and that's also why they'd make some interesting noise for the dimorphism part.
    I love thinking up lore for fantasy creatures haha I'm just a big biology nerd XD (also if anyone wants to add to my ideas pls do I wanna hear if anyone else has some cool ideas)

    • @RoseRedTiger
      @RoseRedTiger  Год назад

      those are some interesting thoughts, and ye i considered the spikes being hollow and more for intimidation, the ones on the tail are definitely solid tho, you got that ice-breath in the front and thagomizer in the back
