Awesome video. Answered questions that I didn’t even know I had. Many thanks.
I appreciate your feedback. Lol, I do get into some details, maybe too many, lol...🍻
Thanks man Still Learning new tricks from you 💡 you're the man💰💰💰👍🏻👍🏻
I appreciate your support and kind words...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
How bad would the short be for a 1C battery if I touched the leads together on accident when checking with the multi?
Just trying to gauge risk lol
I've done it many times. Usually, you can get away with a quick spark. If longer, it can and will melt the lipo leads. Be careful...🍻
I can never remember which one of the balance ports is the ground.
RDQ batteries have the red and black wires the other way, four reds and one black.
It does make it frustrating, I wish things were a bit more standardized. It's like when they paint the ground of a DC capacitor red...🤦🏻♂️
My 3s battery reads 12v when I connect the ground lead and the far lead, but zero on the middle 2 connectors. The balance connector is visually intact. Haven’t looked inside the battery housing. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?
@@connorsisler1824
Your multimeter is reading 0 volts from the center pins? So you have the ground lead on the far pin (ground) and the red lead on one of the center pins, and its zero?
@@propsoff that’s correct sir
@connorsisler1824
Are the wires broken inside the silicon cover? Odd to read zero. Any small voltage would be more expected..
I have the same lipo checker as you with all the same writing except for the top left
" flower". Is it a knockoff you think?
There are so many knockoffs of this checker. My friend "K1NG" was very specific when showing me the details of his checker and I tried my best to get an identical match. I can only imagine that any differences would lead me to believe it's a clone...🤔
@@propsoff
Did same with multimeter and lipo checker same as you and
very little difference. Still might get another legit lipo checker. THANKS
@@keifer242
I really like the multimeter, use it everyday practically.. Hit me up with any questions, I have a decent "Quick tips" Playlist on it too...🍻
When you started to check each cell separately, you need to explain and show what you are demonstrating because, you know what you are talking about and assume that everybody else does. It's like a guitar player talking about harmonic tuning, he is assuming that you know what he is talking about leaving anybody that does not clueless and in the dark. It needs to be explained and close ups would be nice. You need to slow down, are in a rush, late for a date?
Ok, thanks. I appreciate constructive criticism...🍻
Man, I don't want to white knight here but really, this guy made a tutorial for free. As warranted as your criticism may be there really is no reason to be insulting, it's just plain rude.
Thanks, good and clear explained. In this video vas touched my real life situation. I have 4s batterie but in tester I see only 3s. What I would have to do in this situation? Thanks in advabce for reply.
@@allabout1135
You can check to see if one of the balance wires going from the cells to the connector is broken inside the silicon insulation. If the cell is dead, I dispose of them...🧐
@@allabout1135
I appreciate your feedback and support...🍻
@@propsoff In case of dead cell, is it some way to get it back to live? Or just need to accept the fact of losing it?
@allabout1135
Because of how aggressive I am when charging, if I feel the lipo cell is shorted inside or damaged enough to cause issues, I dispose of it. I take all my lipos to batteries Plus. It free...
Hello Everyone! Thank you for checking out my channel and subscribing! Here I quickly look at how to measure the voltage of a lipo battery. I had a few requests for this recently and Hopefully thos helps. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Congrats on 1k time to drop another Vid to celebrate!!!
What if I wanted to read a 2s lipo I want to display each cells voltage to its own voltage display. Can you help?
Yes and yes..
Two 1-8S voltage checkers could be wired to a harness and display the voltage of each cell. You could also have an alarm set for a minimum. Are you doing a huge pack on a LR? Here's the link to the part.

@@propsoff Thanks I know I can use one of those but I have installed two, 2 wire voltage readers. I was wondering if I could display each cells voltage. So for instance I can do voltage reader #1 read cell #1 and voltage reader #2 can read the total amount of volts from both cells. Not sure if it’s possible to use the balance port of my batter to read each cell individually rather then number 1 and then the total of both. Doesn’t matter too much but just wondering
@@scottsrcshop
You can wire the first checker to read cell one but I'm unaware if a checker to automatically display cell one and then cell two. You can definitely wire it to display the voltage of 1 of 2 cells and the other checker to display the total lipo voltage.
Three checkers would display each cell and total. I'm sure there's a smart checker that can do it all from the balance plug but I'm unaware if that device, currently...🤔
Thanks for the info
My pleasure...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
Congratulations with 1k subs!
Thank you!
Can i use my 3s 30c lipo battery as 12v 2amp Power supply (directly to device) or it will damage the device
What device?
Thank you so much. I have several Volt meters and wasn't sure which setting to put the voltmeter on. Thanks your video I realized AC and DC so my meter was able to get down to 20
My pleasure, thanks for your support and feedback...🍻
What is storage voltage and how do you control that charge. Also, when discharging what is don’t go below voltage.
Storage voltage is 3.85v per cell.
Depends on what charger you have?
Discharge to 3.85v.
Great video..I was looking u said got look just likes what u have can't find one with the Emblem in top left corner ..does that matter with cheap one's ?
I was told to look for that specific one, the clones aren't as accurate. Because it's the only one I have, I can't compare. I basically have to take his and 2 others that gave me that recommendation a long time ago - these guys are very dedicated racers.. So, I find it difficult to give you an answer beyond that..
Just throwing this out there cus i didnt think of it. I was just replacing an xt60 connector and got a lil shock when i attempted to hold the end of the xt60 to make the second connection with my helping hands alligator clip. I had taken off the rubber grips to hold something small earlier and didnt cover them, ive changed so many xt60s this way but always had the rubber tips on my alligator clips, no damage but a little scarey.dont be dumb like me m'kaaay. I came here to double check how to set my multimeter to check lipos. Im a pipefitter who likes drones, not an electrical engineer lol. Thanks
I personally haven't had that happen to me. My friend Matt has a few times. My hands are a bit rough and dry though...
I appreciate your encouragement...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
I'm interested in this tester, saw a few on Ebay only differences are the emblem in upper left corner and some have no emblem. Where would I look for a legit one?

Hi,I have a doubt also my lipo battery is showing voltage in negative when I checked is with my multimeter.
Switch your meter leads around. If the positive lead is on the negative pole and your negative lead is on the positive pole, you'll get a negative symbol on your meter screen. It's just showing you the polarity of the circuit.
However, if you have the leads on the correct pole, something isn't wired right.
@@propsoff oh ok 👍thank u very much
Hey actually i have a other doubt why is there a continuous spark when I try to connect my lipo battery (2200 mah 11.1 volt 3s 30c) to my esc (30a)and is it because of friction
@@vijayganesh9072
What capacitor are you using (the capacitor soldered between your lipo leads)?
@@propsoffI am a beginner so maybe could you tell it in a easier way
How do I check the battery percentage if I don't have one like yours, I only have Lipo battery voltage tester and why the percentage of each cell is different? Thank You :)
So for lipo packs we run them to 3.5v per cell and consider this voltage to be done or 0%.. A fully charged lipo cell is normally 4.2v or 100%.. You can create a scale from these base numbers.. The reason you have different voltage over each cell is due to internal resistance (IR). For example, a 4s lipo may show 3.55v, 3.57v, 3.49v, 3.52v after a full send. Each cell is in series circuit and depending how close the IR is matched is how close the lipo cells will discharge. I found quality or more expensive lipos like Tattu lipos are matched very close at the factory vs a cheap one - my opinion.
Sure hope that helps you.. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

@@reynreyn8615
If you have a charger the has balancing capabilities, it will charge that cell and even them all. The balance lead and power cable are plugged in? What charger?
I have 2 Ovonic lipos, and one has a very mismatched cell that drains quite a bit more than the others, frustrating.. However, my Q6 does a great just evening them up..
thanks!

@@propsoff I just measured, my voltages are 4.08v, 4.04v and 3.75v. Is this battery beyond saving?

What's the internal resistance (IR) of each cell charging at a half "C" on a balance?
You are balance charging, right?
