    I absolutely loved the little monologue. I always pause the video to read the writing at the beginning of your older videos. I love reading what other people are thinking about. Also, I live in South Africa, so I'm literally in my winter right now. I'm always reading summer books in winter---it's kind of just my thing now. I'm obsessed with watching other people speak about what they are planning on reading in the summer. Summer is really the only season that matters---for me at least.

    Great summer TBR! Mine (which is a giant pile of books towering over me on my desk as we speak) is too long to list them all. Currently reading Dracula by Bram Stoker and most excited to get to:
    1. The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
    2. Dante's Inferno (and eventually the Divine Comedy as a whole - I'm not well versed in poetry, we're starting small lmao)
    3. The Melancholy of Anatomy by Shelley Jackson
    4. After Dark by Haruki Murakami
    5. Monstrilio by Gerardo Sámano Córdova
    6. The Day of the Door by Laurel Hightower
    7. Brat by Gabriel Smith
    + more
    Not a very fitting vibe for summer overall; I'd say I'm a little ahead of the game for fall/spooky season, but I know what I like!

      we love a summerween !
      funny you mention all this, because i’ve actually been in a major binge of b horror movies and idk what it is! maybe it’s the release of Longlegs or the anticipated Noseferatu, but love these broody reads! being scared in the face of the broad summer sun is perhaps easier on the heart than in fall’s dark! 👻🎃

      @@nathansnook You know, now that you mention it I *did* just watch Longlegs recently... mayhaps that has something to do with the mood setting lmao. I love what you said about reading in the "light" of summer vs. the "dark" of fall, too - you may just have a point. If we can have Christmas in July, we can very well have Halloween, too! • @josephbroseph
      @josephbroseph Месяц назад

      @@nathansnook To be honest, it was just alright! I was a bit disappointed considering all of the admittedly stellar marketing (i.e. the trailer censoring Longlegs' face, the phone number, the "scariest film of the decade" claims). Artistically speaking, the film had some nice visuals and the acting was superb, and I found some of the cinematographic techniques used to instill fear really effective and enjoyable, but overall the film left a lot to be desired. It wasn't terrible by any means, but neither did it live up to the hype for me. I'll leave it at that for fear of spoiling it! You might enjoy it more than I did, after all :)
