Reminds me of the Post Office steel front carrier that I fitted to my Dawes Galaxy. It was designed to carrier a huge Postie Bag. It worked well but rather compromised the nimbleness of the Dawes so I took it off and gave it to the local Habitat for Humanity charity store. I purchased it from a charity store 40 years ago so the circle is complete. Most ideas seem crazy until they don’t. Low carb, healthy fat for example.

You of course need a stem with an open top and 4 fixing bolts, to make this function. As on some of the new version Bromptons. But unless having a Business I prefer being able to leave the carrier frame at home, when not needed!
On my now much former and - much lighter than 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton (below 9 kilo, with mudguards, what is left from my original, Flame Painted bike!) I have - never added one of the two Titanium carriers (Different models, one triangle and one square), which I have ready for it, as I like its ability to add a "carrier frame" or a T-bag in front, if needing to start a Minor Transport Business, also using transport on busses and trains! Actually its most prominent kind of use, as folded for intermediate transport, to be unfolded again when the distance has been covered and for the last part of it.
I have just got a small "plastic plate", with 4 bolts and brackets from the Prime Sellers of extra, lighter and better parts for a Brompton: China, Korea and Taiwan! It is intended to be added to the front bow of one of my carrier frames for my Brompton, to give a flat surface for minor items (It may function😁?). You are able to buy a lot of crap also, but all loose bolts, nuts, discs and front axle on my bike are now from titanium. Also specific nuts, as my S.A. Control nut, with a hole in it, and security parts for the axles. I have also changed the "Heavy Metal" clamps on my mudguards, with the original titanium stays, to a lighter set from carbon. As a "Rainy Dane" I never leave home without them! Finn. Denmark

That sounds like a really interesting bike, you have given a lot of thought into building a most suitable Brompton, thanks for giving me ideas.

@@NottinghamshireMadness I have lastly changed my M handlebar to a similar shaped from carbon and I would have changed the two iron holders for my mudguards to aluminum, but they are permanently added, and must be drilled out for new, so it must wait! But most parts/bolts on my - original looking Brompton brakes are now from titanium.
I want my bike to look as "Standard" as possible and you are - hardly able to notice the changes, except my slightly padded, Selle Carbon Saddle!
I have a standard shape black seat post, but from titanium! You are able to buy those from China in several and more length versions than the originals. Mine is a 535mm with a turned round Clamp (below the saddle, I'm a tall, over 6" man) but I also have one which is 550mm (Hoping to be able to use my B&W box without taking my "Folding Bike" apart!). The clamp is a much lighter and much less complicated one from AceOffix, with wedges inside (H&H offers an even lighter version, for a price!).
But the bolt and wedge holding the fork are now from alu- and titanium. And I have a Joseph Kuosac set of cups in front and Ceramic Balls for my stem, as in my Titanium Crank!! It is very close to the weight of a similar T-line, with mudguards, and 4 gears, but still mine has the original 6 gears.
I did wonder at first for what use I had my low 3 gears, till I met an absurd Serpentine road and had to - walk to reach the top!! But riding hard up and being able to walk faster, I find at best funny!
I must admit that I would find it hard to find an Official excuse to buy a 12 speed?
By that I have an extreme, Vision Kilo based Mtb with a full Shimano XTR set and Wheels, and 33 gears (Oversize, Double caliber disc brakes).
I can't even start on a - flat road in the low gears, and obtain riding speed, but up an absurd hill in a wood, expecting/fearing to fall backwards, they are fine! 😁
