My 9th Grade Civics Teacher was a WASP in WW2 ! Mrs. Ransom was a Great Teacher! She had a new '67 GTO and a former student that become a Florida State Trooper arranged for her to have early access to a newly completed section of I-75 so she could "open up" her GTO! One day a class bully tried to disrupt our Civics class. After refusing to be quiet, he stood up and walked to the front of the classroom. He towered over Mrs. Ransom by ~18". He grabbed her by the shoulder. She spun him around and, as he bounced off of the blackboard, she chopped him in throat! He slumped to the floor like a sack of potatoes. She then calmly called the school office on the intercom and asked for an adult to come and take over the class. From that day on, our class proudly called ourselves, "Ransom's Raiders" !
What an honor to learn about these extraordinary women! My mother was a WWII Navy mathematics specialist. And the WASPS were extraordinary. All that ridiculous "bra burning" in the 1970 is so pathetic compared to Jacqueline Cochran's accomplishments. We honor these brave and heroic women! God bless!
The Champaign Aviation Museum in Urbana Ohio has a section dedicated to the WASPS. We maintain a flying B25 and have over 100 active volunteers rebuilding a B17. Come visit!

What a story! Mrs. Ransom certainly takes no prisoners or ransom!

My aunt Margaret met my uncle Cyrill delivering his plane during the battle of Britain.

Too bad they could not have an interview with the Night Witches.
The most fearsome warship in all times history would be a USN aircraft carrier with a crew of 100% females!
💪👍🙏🎉
Thees are the real heroines! (not the ridiculous Amelia Earhart).
