    Reuben Mayes was so exciting to watch. From the middle of nowhere in 🇨🇦. What a player. 👍👍🏈

      I saw the game against Oregon where he went for 357 yards. It’s the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen in football.

      I hear you. When you look at All-American status, NFL careers, record-setting situations, era-domination, cult status...the list fell where it did. Your support and comment means a lot!

    I feel like Leon Bender should be in there somewhere. Will Derting too. Thanks for the list!!

    Another name you should consider is WSU Hall of Famer, receiver Gail Cogdill who (for 35 years) held the NCAA single game receiving record, 252 yards. He played 11 seasons in the NFL where he was All-Pro three times.

    Surprised TE Pat Beach TE for the Cougars did not make the list, he was a great Cougar that had a long NFL career and was diehard loyal to WAZZU?

    Well I'll give you credit for putting this together, but how do you leave out Ken Greene who played safety and was a first round draft choice in 1978 playing 6 years in the NFL.....

      I like your approach to considering the player. The total player.

    ....What's your criteria for this list? How can you make a greatest WSU football players list of all time and not have Falk or Minshew on here??

    • @FootballForgotten
      @FootballForgotten  Год назад +1

      WSU Football established in 1894. 129 Years of history. That's a lot. I look for:
      NFL HOF. CFB HOF. Consensus All-American. Team captain status. Jersey number "retirement'. Total collegiate starts. Years at school (transferred?). NFL Career - All-Pro, Pro Bowls. Era-domination. Cultural football significance. All-time school record holders.
      Put it all together - I believe that is the total football player.
      Both of those players are not far behind.
      Thank you for watching. Means a lot!

      He was considered. I like him, too. Short WSU career, lack of All-American status and NFL career keep him off this list. Thank you for watching!
