Top 20 Virginia Cavalier Football Players of All-Time
The BOZ had a 30 for 30!
Worst list ever! Cultural impact? Good lord Brian Bosworth, No Greg Pruitt, ,Joe Washington,Thomas Lott, JC Watts, Tony Casillas.
The photo that is supposed to be Lance Alworth is actually Harry Jones. That photo appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1965 after Arkansas beat Texas 27-24 in Fayetteville. Alworth also wore #23 but the giveaway is the Hog decal on the side of the helmet. Those first appeared in 1964. Alworth's last season on the hill was 1961.
Don't forget a great player who never got a chance. Lance Harbour from Varsity Blues! He committed there before a devastating knee injury ended his career.
20 KU Jayhawks and only 10 Seminoles? Come on
Give me Donnie McPherson. Dude ran the freeze option to perfection. That 87 team doesn't go undefeated without him. The first half of 87 Penn State game may be the best first half of football Ive ever seen a team play.
1980 Pitt Hugh Green Ricky Jackson. College Hall of Famer, NFL Hall of Famer
1993 Ole Miss Dewayne Dotson,Abdul Jackson,Cassius Ware. Led nation in total defense.
LUCAS! Throw it to Lucas!
REGGIE ROBY!
Joe Ferguson had the longest NFL career other than Peters. Grovey should have been higher and Dickie Morton or Ben cowins along with Jon Richardson for being the first black to play significant minutes
Whizzer White?
Back to back runners up from Tulsa in 1964-65.
Stanford guys runners up 5 times in last 14 seasons.
It's forgotten how solid Stanford was during that time period.
Laughing at butt hurt Husky fans who don't understand the criteria of the video. Emtman had one great season in his entire career of football. ONE!
In 1987 Leroy Keyes was voted as the greatest Purdue football player of all time, so I'll go with that list rather than this one.
No Bill Fralic? Finished in the Heisman top ten twice as tackle!
A massive amount of talent on the 80-81 teams.
Frank Loria died in the Marshall plane crash in 1970.
What about the old timers??? Howard "Hoppalong" Cassidy, etc!
I would have put Rickey Jackson somewhere on this list.
Hugh Green needed to be higher. Dude is only considered the greatest defender in college history.
I was upset Moon want #1. Until I saw the king. But what about Chuck Nelson? Pennix? Joe Steele? Biggest omission was Mario Bailey and Lawyer Malloy.
Good picks but what happened to the 6 other Heisman winners? LOL All time top ten you did not go back and look at players like Chick Harly who put OSU on the map and was one of the main reasons the Shoe was built. You only picked players you knew of which is ok its your list but the "Best of All Time" hardly. Go watch Bucky Classics ( all episodes). not to be mean but the title is not really there. Maybe the 10 best players I remember. Would be a better title.
Big Kat messed up his neck or he would've been a force in the nfl too an absolute hulk of a human at mlb. Terry glenn had a good run David Boston, mike doss, ginn hung around for awhile, Zeke went 85 through the heart of the south to win a natty, rule changes have changed everything if Tatum played his style now he'd be the most penalized player on the field if he wasn't banned from play, with todays rules tatum would be a less attractive addition, i guess what im saying is one list wont do it better make 2 old and modern era
How could Joe Ferguson not make the list.
Mike Alstott Peyton Hillis
Lamont Thompson from wazzu
Tommie should have been #1 but still good list
Go Hogs
No Gary Anderson? No Ron Calcagni? James Shibest. Lots of Razorback greats left out. Nice music though.
Where's Nesby Glasgow and Lawyer Millow???
Otis anderson mat snell jim taylor cookie gilcres marv hubbard steve thurlow
Ken wright marv leeve don bebe
Where's "Footsteps' Shane Falcon?? You lost money on that Sugar Bowl didn't ya??
They left out the best one of all time. Alabama with Cornilius Bennet and Derek Thomas. dont know who the 3rd one was. it doesn't matter those 2 were monsters!!
Tyler Wilson over Alex Collins
Ryan Mallett or Clint Stoerner over Alex Collins
You left off a lot more deserving people than Alex Collins?? Joe Adams? Isaac Davis? Bobby Williams?? Fred Tally?
Ray Lee Johnson had a decent pro career too.
Hunter Henry over Alex Collins?
Jake Bequette over Alex Collins
You left off a lot more deserving people than Alex Collins?? Joe Adams? Isaac Davis? Bobby Williams?? Fred Tally?
You got it 💯, on #1 USC💪🏽
NO TEXAS A&M
What about Phil Henry? The greatest linebacker of all time.
Good thoughts....so many greats....James Street, Jerry Gray, Johnnie Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Steve Worster, Brad Shearer, Ced Benson (Benson was awesome)...etc
Reggie Roby, John Hardy
Quite a list.
Ron Simmonds needs to be N0. 1!
Dude was a beast! Benching 500 lbs 45 years ago.
Joe Ferguson, Dennis Winston, Felix Jones, Bill Montgomery, Steve Little?
No love for Brandon Burlsworth?
Larry Station?
Steve Emtman not being #1 totally invalidates this list
