My JVC camcorder GF-DX75 have the same problem in displaying the 03/06 error message and the tape did not work even for trying to remove and reload the tape on several days. After read your video, I checked the manual and to reset the cam to factory preset mode, it works to play the tape but not to FF or REW. I need to do several time to reset the cam in converting all my DV tape signal to digital in computer. So, converting the cam to factory mode is really work to resolve the problem temporarily. Thanks a lot to your idea.
I've been having the exact same issues with mine for years, I finally messed with it again and got the error code off and pressed menu and reset cam but it did nothing. afterwards the error popped back up and I cant get it off again. could u please tell me how to factory reset it? I dont have the manual for it
@@samantharenee6550 Suggest getting the user manual from internet first, some old models do not have such factory reset, some are mechanical or digital resetting.
Does anyone know did anything come from that class action lawsuit from the mid 00s? Apparently these cameras were factory faulty and almost every camera released in that time period had this UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE issue. Even mine :/

I google searched the same error message, and read where the issue may be the gears due to lack of use. The site I was on, suggested for me to eject the tape. I've tried over and over again to eject the tape, but the door will not open. Any suggestions? Thanks again for the video

I turned My JVC GR-D350U off and held the play button down while flipping the switch back to play and it came on and started playing. It played really choppy and didn't seem to go back into safe guard mode. Sounds like something is clicking out of normal during playback.

I too, was recently reunited with my old camcorder , and I found this on the ground right where I opened up the box. So I just thought I'd share with everybody what it looks like because I had no idea and I was just as lost as everybody else. Now to see if it works… If I can figure out how to add a picture lol
Nice video. I wonder if you can make a video about converting tapes from the JVC through Elgato video capture. I’m having an issue with hooking the camera to my laptop. Can’t seem to get the proper cables. Thanks for any help.
