Problem is that when you click the Home button at any point, it immediately takes you back out to the stock interface so is basically a half patch. Better than nothing but if the Home button issue could be resolved then it would be job done all the way.

I thought the same but it did work for me, after restarting it tends to stay on the original page and decides to kick in after about a minute it’s not the quickest but it does work
Just exit apps correctly and it goes back to Wolf Launcher

i've a firestick 4k and installed this but takes approx 30s after startup for wolf launcher to be started.. you get to see the stock launcher for that period..

Great, but it doesn’t find my installed launcher. I prefer leanback launcher.
In the list where I can select the app starting at boot leanback launcher isn’t listed.
Thanks for keeping it up despite Amazon's efforts to impose their clumsy UI and aggressive advertising. One drawback of the latest OS is that the Home key does not work anymore for Wolf launcher. It is very annoying as some key services (Netflix, HBO...) could not exit with only the Back key. The option to use one of the App Key to launch Wolf does not work for me as I use Netflix and Disney. The 2 other app keys in Europe are dedicated to amazon services and could not be reprogrammed with the "standard" method. I had therefore to find a workaround.
I am using Node Red for my home automation and, in combination with ADB, it was rather easy to detect a key press on Amazon Music (or any key you want) to force the launch of Wolf Launcher instead. I am happy to provide more details on that Node Red setup if some of you are interested.

This is not a complete fix because the moment you exit an app it goes right back .. It doesnt stay on wolf launcher ..
When Amazon did its trickery a few weeks ago, my launchers (Leanback and Wolf) disappeared. I couldn't get them back and make them stick. About a week later, something changed. I don't know what it was. But my launchers returned - and now the FireStick home button brings up my launcher of choice, and I once again see no Amazon home screen at any time. It's a mystery.

Doesn't work on my 4k firestick os6. It booted on to stock Amazon browser then after 20 seconds launched wolf browser
then it stopped launching the wolf browser altogether.
How likely is it that a method of reverting back to being able to use the home buttom will be made?
I've followed your posts and videos for years, and managed to follow your guide for blocking amazon updates, but unfortuantely forgot to do it on a couple of my devices!

It kind of works. It takes almost 30 seconds of sitting on the stock launcher before the custom one appears, the home button still just leads back to the stock launcher and coming back from sleep mode doesn't launch into the custom launcher at all. Any fix for this stuff yet?

Hei. I've installed the Launch on boot on my chromecast GTv, selected the app I want to kickstart, but it does not trigger on boot. Hsa it been bared by google? I just wan to launch an Gallery player app that presents photos from a photos shop system we use, and I want it to do this without anyone needing to launch anything after a powercut etc

I have two firesticks - both the same version etc - and have Wolf launcher on both. For some reason the Amazon update only stopped Wolf launcher on one of them while the other stills works perfectly - so I thought I'd try this fix on the one which had stopped. The first thing that happened after opening Launch to Boot was that I got a totally blank black screen - which I could only eventually get rid of by unplugging the firestick (twice!!) and leaving it for a couple of minutes. When I finally got it to open and set it up, it worked as you said it would when I hit 'Test' - but then I tried rebooting the firestick as suggested. It opened up to the stock launcher and stayed there....☹

If you have the 3rd gen firetsick remote you can map one of the app buttons ie Disney+ button to the wolf launcher and so the Disney+ button becomes your new home button. Works a treat

hello, thanks for the video but there is a problem today, I have followed all your steps and the problem is that if I restart the fire stick the wolf launcher does not come out, it restarts with the amazon launcher

Doc. You always know how to get past the mouse trap. Lol. Personally my thoughts are that if Amazon starts to restrict what people can do, eg: 3rd party app restrictions they will loose sales. I'm pretty sure they are aware of that fact. What you think?

Should this work on the new FireTV Cube? Installed and when I set the launcher to enable custom launcher it never changes, it still shows the stock launcher as the default launcher.
Great video. Quick questions: Do I have to delete the launch manager? I am using the Wolf Launcher on my 4K firestick max. I did notice that every time I turn my firestick back on it kicks it back to the original firestick launcher. #wolf

Good workaround for Amazon's ownership of the home button. #Wolf There are some apps that are inconvenient to leave by using the back button (downloader, for example) but this is still an excellent remedy for something I thought would make Wolf Launcher very inconvenient. Amazon's home screen is horrible and looks like it always will be. So thanks, Doc! I have several firesticks (mostly 4kMax) that have downloaded the upgrade in spite of running the "Stop updates" beta. BONUS: I have set up a monitor as a Beach Cam to run a live webcam that streams from youtube. This Launch On Boot app will allow me to set youtube as its bootup App. Thanks, again!

Not showing leanbackonfire v1.53 now on the apps
Have a problem...running firestick 4k max. When it goes to sleep or when it is turned off, or hitting the home button, it goes back to Amazon main screen. Would be nice to have a remapper for the home button that would just go to that all the time. I don't enjoy using the 4 other app buttons for remapper cause then I can't access those apps either. Thoughts? Am I missing a step at all? Or is this typical?

What is the weather widget you are using?
Tried it. Didn't work. After I turned the tv off, the Amazon home screen popped up.
I was concerned when you originally reported that custom launchers were no longer working after later updates. However, I had been running Launcher Manager and Wolf Launcher before the update, and for me, nothing changed , and custom launcher works just as before.
I did notice that right after the update, that my launcher had changed to the stock launcher, but I just changed it back to Wolf Launcher, and it has persisted. I have 3 Firestick's, one 4k, and two 4K Max's.
All of my firestick's are running the very latest firmware.
So, does the firmware update you reported as 'breaking custom launchers' only affect 'new' installs of Fire TV devices, and existing custom launcher users are unaffected?
If I restore any of my devices to factory, I will not be able to use the custom launcher again in the same way I do currently, is that correct?
I'd like some clarification as well.
Can you disable the custom launcher though? I can’t anymore. I am stuck at the custom ones.
@@kartana Interesting... No I can't change back to the stock launcher. So I guess the update just breaks the Launcher Manager in a way that you're stuck with whatever launcher you were using at the time of the update. Funny, I hadn't heard anything about this being the outcome, just that you wouldn't be able to use LM anymore.
I wonder if there are other apps that let you access the sections of Settings that you can't via Launcher Manager?
@@kartana Yes, my firestick 4k runs version version 6.x of FireOS. I went into Launcher settings and disabled the handler. Now I can not re-enable it, and the home button now reverts to the stock launcher. My other devices are 4K Max's, and Custom Launcher. Wolf behave normally, even after the latest update available for my region.
@@ghostnote1678 Update: Was using my Fire Stick 4k Max today, and Wolf Launcher was working fine, and then was just exiting from an app, and all of a sudden the default home screen appeared. LM Manager is still enabled, but obviously works no more. So, they 'got me!'

I installed launcher manager,then wolf manager and make it primary launcer,then by mistake i uninstalled wolf and now there is blank screen,no default launcher

I’m using an NVidia Shield. I can’t get the Weather widget to work. I downloaded it from your page and installed it, but it won’t even show in the widget selection.

Yes it does but you can also use the normal launcher manager method on the Shield.

Well it is an android device so it could possibly work but wolf launcher is mainly for firesticks so it would just mess up your Home Screen probably

It does not work with my firestick 4k. It keeps disappearing from my firestick and I have to install it again and works for awhile then disappears again.
I use two firesticks, one is Firestick 4K Os 6 and on my TV I have Firestick 4K Max OS 7. Now on the latter I have used the toolbox to stop Amazon updates to eliminate going back to Amazon launcher when I press the home key. So after installing this app can I assume that if I turn on the Amazon updates again in toolbox on OS 7 and have Wolf Launcher automatically launch into Wolf Launcher when I boot up? I assume it will go back to stock launcher when I press the home key but to eliminate that I use the back button. Keep up the great work.
I have mentioned launch on boot before as I use it regardless who cares top video as always keep up the good work.

#Wolf... good job. IMHO, it would be great if this was tied to one profile rather than the entire boot startUp. That way, individuals in my family who prefer the default can use it, but othrer who like Wolf can have their way, or if they like LeanBack, then their profile can be set up to use it.

The Launch on Boot app has stopped working. There's even a note on Seeny's APK page that this app is currently not working. Boots into stock launcher every time.
