  • Myself, Alan and Woodie spent two days riding around the New Forest, eating chips, talking to ponies and generally having a jolly old time of it.
    This videos shows all the action or lack thereof from day 1. Day 2 will be coming soon!

    Beaut scenery! Reminded me of growing up near woods in Pennsylvania. You guys looked like a group of kids playing around the creek and zipping through the woods, that's a good thing! Thanks mucho.

      It is the best way to spend time :)
      The day I am too old to enjoy playing in a little rushing river is the day I lay down and die.
      I'd love to go back in the spring when all the leaves are coming out on the trees, it would be even more spectacular then

    Woody, was in your South Wales video where you met him in the car park; so he could temporarily join your ride!?
    I have got so used to your use of "Dude, where's my horse?" as background music to your posts; that without offending the composer or the composition; it has become subtle and unobtrusive.
    However, in this post; where there are horses everywhere, even walking down the tracks and over bridges; the music seems almost..kind of ironic, in its choice and use..haha! Did you make that decision on purpose?
    A pleasant, fun gaunt! An aimless (apart from the obvious aim towards the apartment) meandering/wanderings in the forest, of three amigos. It's what life is all about. Doing what you love, with the folk that you love! Perfect!
    Looking forward to part two!Take care Jethro

    • @JethroJessop
      @JethroJessop  Год назад +1

      Full marks for woodie identification.
      The music is chosen with very little thought to be honest. i have my little library of tracks that I like and they just get dropped in based very vaguely on the pace of the video in question.
      The horse connection was not a consideration at the time. I'm afraid I'm not that subtle 😉

    Yes, lovely place. So nice to see someone enjoying the wild (if you can can the New Forest 'wild') in a leisurely way, rather than careering down hardcore mtn bike trails and blethering about berms and drop-offs. Woody - as any fule kno - lit up Toy Story 1. Toy Storys 2, 3 and 4 were sadly disappointing due to the lack of bike-based Woody action

    • @JethroJessop
      @JethroJessop  2 года назад +1

      Definitely a place that lends itself to slow exploration with many pauses for looking moss and eating chips.
      Woodie doesn't like to talk about the Toy Story days. He was young and foolish and needed the money when he made those films and now he really wants to focus on his new career as a human.

    Pardon my ignorance as an American, but what is the nature of the dirt roads you are riding? (Old rail bed? Gravel road open to cars? Dedicated new construction bike path? Old herders road?)

    • @JethroJessop
      @JethroJessop  2 года назад +1

      I'm not 100% sure of the details but mostly they are access for forestry work and also maintained for public access as the forest is a pretty big draw for tourism.
      Some of the tarmac surfaced ones are open to cars but generally gravel is not. It's quite rare in England to find that amount of good quality gravel all in one place so it is really popular with cyclists.
