Gonna pin this as this is getting traction - I should not be required to get 3 friends with more or similar hours to me to make the game some what playable. In this video im not asking for killer to be nerfed. i just wanna discuss things that may be able to help with toxicity and the annoying aspects of the game (Going against SWFS, Tunneling, stale meta, over nerfs and buffs, new player experience, Players going next.) this was NOT meant to call out either side. and i apologize if thats how i came off.
Players going next is never going to be solved unless the games made enjoyable. a stale meta and tunneling to win most matches are not going to help with that.
@@jamestercool4412 bp penalty for giving up on hook may help, but i think option to kill yourself on hook should be gone with unhooking chances, thsts just pure random. That way perks around selfunhook can be reworked(deli should stay only selfunhook option) and "go next" guys will be eating dc penalties untill perma ban or very high amounts of time. I mean penalty for dc basicaly doesnt exist right now. I mean i played bunch of online games and leavers are punished hard across those.

@@jamestercool4412 not that it matters in the slightest but I am number 17 on the leaderboard for Trapper and you can easily check this yourself with the smallest amount of Google searching. And that map happens to be a map that I have never lost on since it came to the game. He is a knowledge based killer. And I have studied every map intensely for trapper. So yes I win a lot, this does not necessarily mean I am better than the survivors I go against but it does mean that I will win the 4Vs1 most of the time. Replying with so much emotion and frustration is not what I was after, a simple disagreement that the survivors you face are not as good as the survivors top players for the respective killers face in a regular basis. And I think that is the problem with this game when two people have a disagreement they have to have a pissing contest and it's not necessary at all. We can agree to disagree
I remember my first ever killer game where I had absolutely nothing. The group I fought might have premade but I honestly don't know. I got some hooks but no permanent kills. They also did the bagging. I didn't really care but I also thought some people just don't deserve a fair fight
Pog pfp, and killer is a learning curve for sure! and i don't mind them trying to bridge it for newer players the main issue is for veterans where the game feels so awful o.o people claim its burnout but nah i love playing the game :/
I strongly disagree with the idea that playing killer is too easy and killers are too powerful... if you play the way the devs intended. Tunneling needs to be addressed for sure. The biggest problem I have though is I tunnel unintentionally. Idk why but survivors will unhook an ally then hide and let the killer go after their teammate. As a killer, I will go to the hook looking for the unhooker, but won't see them and will just shrug my shoulders and say "well, looks like I just have to hook this guy again. That sucks. Sorry dude." Protection hits should be incentivised a lot more. Tunneling a survivor should award less bloodpoints by far. The problem is what the game pushes you to do in order to win, and survivors have nothing pushing them toward teamwork. More info built in like VHS had would be incredibly helpful. Another thing that would help would be to give more incentive toward the secondary objectives. The reason killers sweat so hard is because survivors gen rush. This hurts all the survivors that don't gen rush and ends up forcing them to. Gens being the only important part of the match is the main problem. If there was more than gens, killers wouldn't feel the need to slowdown.
Using VHS as a example isn't a good idea as its now a dead game, a lot of people don't understand players don't want a competitive horror game. people want a horror party game as evident by people constantly going next. maybe for me since i've played since the start it is to easy for me personally, thats why i wanna make these videos to have discussions. maybe a strong push to make survivors work together better IS what the game needs. its just again toxicity ruins that as one person might be able to abuse that and ruin games :/ but again we need NEW systems

SoloQ nearly impossible to win if killer know what to do even a little, but SWF abuse mechanics made to help SoloQ. There is no way to fix this. Maybe ingame VC
i threw some suggestions in a previous video to bridge the gap such as a mechanic when the killer gets pallet saved once they become immune to the next pallet save so people cant just go down on pallets constantly

The REAL problem is that usually a decent/good pre-made can destroy all killers below S tier just with a perfect macro play (by doing the right generetors, dying in the right place to make killer loose time ecc...). And the fun fuct is that survivors have SO many broken perks that they can abuse that you can't do anything. You hit someone? They go to a safe part of the map and abuse the exhaustion perk. You leave them? They reset at the speed of the light by using either medikit or one of the 20+ healing perk of the game (in SWF is pretty easy to set up a reset). You want to tunnel? Ds/Dh/Otr/syringe/shoulder the burden and other 4/5 perks i actually don''t remember. And there's another unbelivable problem... STRONG KILLER WINS ANYWAY against soloq, that's because they can't and don't abuse ANYTHING of that most of the times. I can easly get a win streack with all high tier killers because survs are BAD, you can easly slash soloq players and that's why the game is killer side 90% of the times... Then you find a decent pre-made that wants to abuse everything (you can beat a pre-made if they don't bring too much shit) and you lose miserably. That's sick

@@salvatoreannunziata4393 The thing is(sorry maybe my comments a little hard to read, not an english speaker) SoloQ need a lot of help, but implementing basekits greatly benefits towards SWF, even mid tier SWF with map offering will be pain in the ass. MMR system not helping the situation, when i was starting on killer i ended up getting surv with like 1000 and more hours over my playtime after a bunch of games against newer players as me. At this point SWF are pretty common thing, like 4-5 per play session. I think QOL changes needed, not game mechanics. Like communication for SoloQ will bring them much much closer to SWF and there Bhvr can balance killers around much stronger SoloQ so killer wouldnt be miserable against SWF and SoloQ can actualy fight back against high tier killers. But one thing will never change for sure - optimization. Killers and survivors will optimize gamplay as much as possible, thats simply human nature and growing popularity of comp not helping at all. Maybe casual anked modes could help with that, but some guys will sweat even in casual.
There are the obvious things in making the game be good that have already been pointed out: balancing the SWF vs SoloQ experience to be more in line with one another, so that killers can be balanced around both. But I want to take a bit more of an overhead view on this. DBD needed someone in a leadership position who cares about the game being good, rather than being a successful product: Someone who cared about the game being good would have recognized that killers being disabled every other patch is an unacceptable state of affairs and halted the release cadence of chapters in order to focus on quality of life and other baseline improvements. They would have taken a definite stance on party vs competitive game and worked to take the game more distinctly in that direction, instead of leaving us with a system that serves everyone poorly by draining the goofiness of out of the game in favor of sweat, whilst at the same time providing no meaningful incentives to “climbing” the ranks. There’s more that I could go into about how they interact with the community, and especially their Fog-Whisperers, but suffice it to say that they’ve proven to me that they’re more than happy to take our money, but they care very little about player opinions. I see DBD very much in a similar light as I do Overwatch 2, both were massive trendsetters that have not been able to be knocked off their thrones due to inertia, but in the case of Overwatch 2 it looks like Marvel Rivals has a good chance of doing the job. DBD is a bit of a different beast though, as the licenses that they have acquired makes it incredibly difficult for any other game to compete on brand recognition, and it might take DBD to go completely under before another can take its place. Until then, I very much suspect that it’s going to follow Overwatch 2 in not meaningfully growing its player base, and so will have to crank up the monetization to 11 to show growth numbers, whilst undeserving their increasingly entrenched, and slowly dwindling, player-base, who have long since succumbed to the sunk cost fallacy and so are unwilling to leave it.
I agree a lot with this stance.. they have certain creators in a role like that. its why we got shoulder the burden it just wasn't thought of properly as it barley does its job and only hurts weaker killers. don't worry i can't wait to by feng cat girl for 35 dollars

Most of the killers (me included) start every game with SWF in mind. If u load in game with funny build and get swf - completly miserable expirience. So it is what it is.
Its healthy if you play really safe as a survivor and fun to watch all the other survivors get sacrifice with all the end game perks because at least you expect it :p
As someone that been playing since 2017 & was a rank 1 survivor from 2018 until rank reset I approve this YT video,people going up to 1000 win streaks on killer should say it all & remember escapes & kills = skills 😂
I played from Lunar 2018 until around June 2019. It's astounding to me how quickly the devs managed to fuck the game up after they got the rights back from Starbreeze and how modern DbD (2020+) is almost entirely unrecognizable. Even with all the "broken" shit like 4+ one-hit hatchets and insta heals the game was a lot better off. Modern DbD to me seems entirely unplayable. I already had issues going back for a few rounds back in 2020/21, but the way the game looks, feels, plays now? An actual train wreck I believe. And once again proof that live service is horrible and games are better off "dead" after a year or two of receiving DLCs. Had DbD's support ended in 2018 or so we would have a pretty decent game. The entire spirit and playerbase that once was just seems gone now. I am just happy I was smart enough to leave the game after nearly half a year of suffering with the infinite loading screen bug, which I am sure you remember.
i do think the game needed balancing changes, but after nerfing dead-hard they also then turbo buffed every killer stat that they could think of - faster hit cool-down, longer gen times, speed burst after hit reduced, gens cannot be tapped (fair) which was just kinda over kill lmao
@@jamestercool4412 Balancing changes are a single line of code, if the devs are smart anyway. I know this wasn't and still isn't the case for the DbD devs, but anything that was outright broken in the old 1.6.X and etc builds of DbD could've been fixed within a single day. It was mostly changing numbers around or making it so one add-on can't override another one. My point is that old DbD was simply better and that the longer a game or series goes on for the worse and more diluted it gets. This can be seen with almost any other game, be it Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty or Need for Speed. Add to that that any sort of actual community within the game itself is gone and that DbD's playerbase is mostly zoomers now, who think YT DbD is what actual DbD is and how it should be played. Like watching trolling montages or trickshot comps back in the day and thinking that's how MW2 is played.
I think that BHVR realized that people enjoy being toxic, so they literally built toxic game mechanics into the game. It's their entire strategy. If they really wanted to, they could have fixed all of these issues but that's not their intention. DBD could be a WAY better game than it actually is.
Its so funny to me that behavior tries to portray this game as some pos'd up game No matter what i do as killer i get hatemail. Even if i let a survivors go and play the nicest killer ever with a meme build, i'll still get cry baby survivors dm'ing me
sadly people will get annoyed no matter what. i try and run meme builds on killers and if i let people out i still get bmed xd in a game where some players will hold a grudge for a completely dif match who knows :/
There is no MMR hell. You reach an MMR and then you sorta just don't go down unless you have a major loss streak. The MMR in this game doesn't reset each time ranks reset (13th of each month) Instead, there are MMR thresholds you reach, and once you're above them you stay there even if you disappear for a long time. Your MMR may go down to the very limit of that threshold over time due to others approaching the same MMR, but it will never drop below without your own action. There are garbage players in all "MMR" zones of this game, and some just got lucky to find some success several times in a row or avoided being the main focus of a killer.
@@DillonMeyer i got Aaraygamer (blight main) the other night and i'll still see the constant "YoUrE jUsT lOw MmR" i wish BHVR would let people see their mmr to clear this stuff up finally. MMR is and has been a flawed system for SO long x.x
Maps will keep getting smaller, tiles will keep getting butchered, killers will keep getting buffed (got to keep that braindead 60% kill rate target), solo queue will keep getting worse. It's not going to change anytime soon, the game we loved has been gone since patch 6.1. It's not going to return.

Remember that with 1 perk slot of 16 a survivor could reveal all killer's aura perks to their teammates, and this is not even the most controversial part. They need to make shoulder the burden base kit with a max of 2 uses per match by any of the 4 survivors. Make it no longer make you exposed because as soon as this comes out people will proxy camp who want to still tunnel. This would make tunneling a pretty good bit harder to do and you could also use it to pretect newer players without needing to buy a character and waste a perk slot on something that should have been base kit 2 or more years ago. I can really only hope that it doesn't take nearly as long to make shoulder the burden base kit as it did for borrowed time.

If you play in high mmr as killer you would maximum get 2 hooks when the first 2 gens are done and and if you don't tunnel it is a sure 4 man out. to me sounds like there's nothing wrong with the game just the community. there is no defined win or lose everyone has their own definition. sometimes you get a killer that just walks around doing nothing and other times you get someone who will camp your hook. i don't think this game is designed to be taken seriously. if the devs wanted they could balance the game in a way to reduce or prevent things like "tunneling" or "slugging" but they don't so there's no point in getting upset at it. on the flip side you got every toxic things survivors do and the devs do not stop that either. everyone is just projecting their negativity onto everyone else and thats not going to fix or change a thing.

yeah in-game vc would be a good idea. Then you can nerf surv side because soloq are not heavly hindered by bad cooperation anymore

MMR system not helping the situation, when i was starting on killer i ended up getting surv with like 1000 and more hours over my playtime after a bunch of games against newer players as me. At this point SWF are pretty common thing, like 4-5 per play session. I think QOL changes needed, not game mechanics. Like communication for SoloQ will bring them much much closer to SWF and there Bhvr can balance killers around much stronger SoloQ so killer wouldnt be miserable against SWF and SoloQ can actualy fight back against high tier killers. But one thing will never change for sure - optimization. Killers and survivors will optimize gamplay as much as possible, thats simply human nature and growing popularity of comp not helping at all. Maybe casual
anked modes could help with that, but some guys will sweat even in casual.
There are the obvious things in making the game be good that have already been pointed out: balancing the SWF vs SoloQ experience to be more in line with one another, so that killers can be balanced around both.
But I want to take a bit more of an overhead view on this.
DBD needed someone in a leadership position who cares about the game being good, rather than being a successful product:
Someone who cared about the game being good would have recognized that killers being disabled every other patch is an unacceptable state of affairs and halted the release cadence of chapters in order to focus on quality of life and other baseline improvements.
They would have taken a definite stance on party vs competitive game and worked to take the game more distinctly in that direction, instead of leaving us with a system that serves everyone poorly by draining the goofiness of out of the game in favor of sweat, whilst at the same time providing no meaningful incentives to “climbing” the ranks.
There’s more that I could go into about how they interact with the community, and especially their Fog-Whisperers, but suffice it to say that they’ve proven to me that they’re more than happy to take our money, but they care very little about player opinions.
I see DBD very much in a similar light as I do Overwatch 2, both were massive trendsetters that have not been able to be knocked off their thrones due to inertia, but in the case of Overwatch 2 it looks like Marvel Rivals has a good chance of doing the job.
DBD is a bit of a different beast though, as the licenses that they have acquired makes it incredibly difficult for any other game to compete on brand recognition, and it might take DBD to go completely under before another can take its place.
Until then, I very much suspect that it’s going to follow Overwatch 2 in not meaningfully growing its player base, and so will have to crank up the monetization to 11 to show growth numbers, whilst undeserving their increasingly entrenched, and slowly dwindling, player-base, who have long since succumbed to the sunk cost fallacy and so are unwilling to leave it.
I agree a lot with this stance.. they have certain creators in a role like that. its why we got shoulder the burden it just wasn't thought of properly as it barley does its job and only hurts weaker killers. don't worry i can't wait to by feng cat girl for 35 dollars

Most of the killers (me included) start every game with SWF in mind. If u load in game with funny build and get swf - completly miserable expirience. So it is what it is.
and thats completely fine, SwF is still incredibly strong and will remain until BHVR does something about it without killing soloQ
Its healthy if you play really safe as a survivor and fun to watch all the other survivors get sacrifice with all the end game perks because at least you expect it :p

As someone that been playing since 2017 & was a rank 1 survivor from 2018 until rank reset I approve this YT video,people going up to 1000 win streaks on killer should say it all & remember escapes & kills = skills 😂
I played from Lunar 2018 until around June 2019. It's astounding to me how quickly the devs managed to fuck the game up after they got the rights back from Starbreeze and how modern DbD (2020+) is almost entirely unrecognizable. Even with all the "broken" shit like 4+ one-hit hatchets and insta heals the game was a lot better off. Modern DbD to me seems entirely unplayable. I already had issues going back for a few rounds back in 2020/21, but the way the game looks, feels, plays now? An actual train wreck I believe. And once again proof that live service is horrible and games are better off "dead" after a year or two of receiving DLCs.
Had DbD's support ended in 2018 or so we would have a pretty decent game. The entire spirit and playerbase that once was just seems gone now. I am just happy I was smart enough to leave the game after nearly half a year of suffering with the infinite loading screen bug, which I am sure you remember.
i do think the game needed balancing changes, but after nerfing dead-hard they also then turbo buffed every killer stat that they could think of - faster hit cool-down, longer gen times, speed burst after hit reduced, gens cannot be tapped (fair) which was just kinda over kill lmao
@@jamestercool4412 Balancing changes are a single line of code, if the devs are smart anyway. I know this wasn't and still isn't the case for the DbD devs, but anything that was outright broken in the old 1.6.X and etc builds of DbD could've been fixed within a single day. It was mostly changing numbers around or making it so one add-on can't override another one.
My point is that old DbD was simply better and that the longer a game or series goes on for the worse and more diluted it gets. This can be seen with almost any other game, be it Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty or Need for Speed. Add to that that any sort of actual community within the game itself is gone and that DbD's playerbase is mostly zoomers now, who think YT DbD is what actual DbD is and how it should be played. Like watching trolling montages or trickshot comps back in the day and thinking that's how MW2 is played.
I think that BHVR realized that people enjoy being toxic, so they literally built toxic game mechanics into the game. It's their entire strategy. If they really wanted to, they could have fixed all of these issues but that's not their intention. DBD could be a WAY better game than it actually is.

sadly people will get annoyed no matter what. i try and run meme builds on killers and if i let people out i still get bmed xd in a game where some players will hold a grudge for a completely dif match who knows :/

You don't play enough so you're in mmr hell.
There is no MMR hell. You reach an MMR and then you sorta just don't go down unless you have a major loss streak.
The MMR in this game doesn't reset each time ranks reset (13th of each month)
Instead, there are MMR thresholds you reach, and once you're above them you stay there even if you disappear for a long time. Your MMR may go down to the very limit of that threshold over time due to others approaching the same MMR, but it will never drop below without your own action.
There are garbage players in all "MMR" zones of this game, and some just got lucky to find some success several times in a row or avoided being the main focus of a killer.
@@DillonMeyer i got Aaraygamer (blight main) the other night and i'll still see the constant "YoUrE jUsT lOw MmR" i wish BHVR would let people see their mmr to clear this stuff up finally. MMR is and has been a flawed system for SO long x.x
Maps will keep getting smaller, tiles will keep getting butchered, killers will keep getting buffed (got to keep that braindead 60% kill rate target), solo queue will keep getting worse.
It's not going to change anytime soon, the game we loved has been gone since patch 6.1. It's not going to return.

yeah so surv can play hide and seek all the match? Remember that with 1 perk slot of 16 a survivor could reveal all killer's aura perks to their teammates, and this is not even the most controversial part. Who doesn't know a shit about balance should stop talking about it, because 99% you're just asking to bring back problematic and bullshit perks
They need to make shoulder the burden base kit with a max of 2 uses per match by any of the 4 survivors. Make it no longer make you exposed because as soon as this comes out people will proxy camp who want to still tunnel. This would make tunneling a pretty good bit harder to do and you could also use it to pretect newer players without needing to buy a character and waste a perk slot on something that should have been base kit 2 or more years ago. I can really only hope that it doesn't take nearly as long to make shoulder the burden base kit as it did for borrowed time.
Bro you are one of the most delusional survivor main I have ever seen like making shoulder the burden as a base kit is just miserable for killers. If you play in high mmr as killer you would maximum get 2 hooks when the first 2 gens are done and and if you don't tunnel it is a sure 4 man out. Whereas I play both survivor and killer and I genuinely don't like playing killer because it is not fun and sometimes I'm happy even if I atleast get 2 sacrifices, on the other hand playing survivor is not even that bad if they tunnel you just run ds/otr and if you know how to loop well it's easy for us and your squad for sure atleast gets a 3 man out and making shoulder the burden as a base kit without the exposed effect is the funniest shit I've seen and incase if they do make it as a base kit they gotta make corrupt, deadlock and sloppy as base kit like stfu bro

@@ANTexp The issue is, i shouldn't be forced to get three other people with similar hours to mine to make the game enjoyable, but no shoulder the burden base kit is not a good idea as shoulder the burden only hurts weak killers and makes swfs stronger (even though it barley impacts a game currently)

there is no defined win or lose everyone has their own definition. sometimes you get a killer that just walks around doing nothing and other times you get someone who will camp your hook.
i don't think this game is designed to be taken seriously.
if the devs wanted they could balance the game in a way to reduce or prevent things like "tunneling" or "slugging" but they don't so there's no point in getting upset at it.
