i returned to RS3 about a month ago, and this video is pretty much spot on with the things needed to be done to get into PVM/bossing. The first thing i did when returning was all req's for curse prayer unlocks and buy a luck of the dwarves for exactly the reason you stated to do priff. Interestingly as a returning player, i would usually agree with you about doing priff asap... however now with the release of Fort Forinthy and the ability to use LotD for unlimited GE teleports... i would say Priff is on my backburner and instead i'm focusing 99 combat stats/120 invention by farming ED3 trash and archeology on the side since both skills are vital to success in this game now. Thanks for the thoughtful video and lookin forward to seeing the next one.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment man! Yeah priff is one of those goals that is great to get bc it does unlock a lot of things that are useful, but ien’t as big anymore. Yet you might find i have something releasing today regarding your lotd (;
I found it a useful reminder that you mentioned getting BiS Gear as an end-game goal. It’s just so much money it often feels like a goal I’m not allowed to have. As someone who has shied away from high-level PVM becuase of death costs (and lack of skill), I’m hoping I can re-train my brain to think of bossing as attainable content after the re-work, and hopefully that will bring me more profitable days.
I also had issues with thinking this. I did some blood rune crafting for some starter money to get a decent weapon and started doing lower level bosses and ended up fairly easily getting enough money to buy better gear. Reaper tasks are worth a surprising amount of money from the hydrix
I also had this same issue. Most of money came from dailies and the occasional slayer drop and I didn't wanna chance that on death costs and supply costs while learning a boss. Now I'm trying more and more content, with Nex being my latest successful first kill.
How did you get along? I’ve been playing a lot past year or so after returning from few years break. I have bis gear & even after year-2 year playing most days. I still can’t do 90% of the bossing. So I just skill and do reapers. Bossing is to hard to get used to for me, think I’ve always been osrs player & I don’t have patience to learn.
@Fook Chun you basically focus on specific bosses that teach you how to do specific things. Vindicta is a good boss to start with as you'll learn when and how to use defensives coupled with a shield swap as well as a bit of prayer flicking. Learning when and how to use defensives will open up quite a bit more content. I personally when to Araxxor after that. Much more mechanically intensive than Vindy and you have to learn the specials otherwise you risk killing yourself. Rax teaches you to count autos, Vindy does too but isn't near as punishing as Rax. If you miscount Rax autos, the swipe and bubble can both kill you. The final form of Rax is pretty difficult initially. It teaches you how to use and conserve adrenaline. At this point, you want to be manually using thresholds and ultimates. You can get away with just using ultimates, but it's very hard and will limit you going forward. Final Rax form also teaches you more rapid pray flicks, resource management and movement as she launches a black ball that bounces a few times before landing on you dealing very high typeless damage. Gotta keep your hp up, managing adren, pray flicking, watching for all the same mechanics every so often and then the black ball. Nex was a different kind of hard. Mostly just ability usage with her while keeping track of mechanics and moving often. Kerapac is still probably my favorite boss to kill. I'd say he's a little easier than Rax once you get his mechanics down.
Really great goals, happy to hear them as I think I reached most of them on my FSW account already, except clues because I hate them and maxing, great list!
I thought the same lol, got combat 128, almost all gathering skills are around 70 with prayer 80. Then i thought yeah i’m gonna do Sentisten. Then i realized i had to do like 20 quests before i could even start it, now i only have the curse of arrav quest left before i can finally do Sentisten but getting the required prayer to use the curses is really really expensive
Been maxed since like 2010 but finally doing temple trekking and dominion tower to finish morytania and desert diaries. Lol I cba to do them for over a decade and they only took like a weekend to finish
My goal is a completionist cape as I have already got a quest cape and a max cape and I almost have a master quest cape. The tasks are what I have been behind on due to the task system coming out during a timeframe where I was not active on the game and it felt tedious, since most of the stuff in the task system I had already done on my account but I got no credit bc the system did not exist back then. So I have been lazy and put it off. I want to do it and I want to get necromancy to 99 asap once it comes out.
I will say there are some goals I cannot or will not go for. For example I don't care to train in earnest for virtual levels. You can have the equivalent of 120 in other skills for true mastery, but there are only 6(maybe 7) that have content going all the way to 120 and these are the only skills with an actual 120 level. A virtual level just helps you keep track in how close you are to unlocking the master cape for that skill and allows you to have a solid number to tell others your "level" but it does not ech exist as you are just level 99 with experience stacked on. No different than having 100 mil exp or 200 mil exp, except that you can check a settings to view it as a level going up to 120 and then up to 150 for elite skills. The assumption is that Jagex will add content going to 120 or 150 in the future but until they do and unless I am board and I meet all other goals I won't train skills that I have maxed and that are just virtual after 99 nor will I train invention past 120. I don't care for the show off and braggy nature of a pointless 100 mil or 200 mil exp goal. I do not think getting a virtual 120 is pointless as during reworks they can extend them and I think they will eventually add content to all of them, but until they do I don't grind for a 120 or a 150 in a virtual skill as it is not tangible and useful to me just for a cape that tis a slightly different design to a cape I already own. A completionist cape does not consider virtual levels. Only the skills that have content up to 120 require a level 120 to level. Everything else can stop at 99 and you get the cape without having to advance those skills further. So once I get my cape I am considering myself done and would find other goals. I do want to beat all pvm bosses at least once but I cannot do pvm and won't die it not having a computer that is stable when on RuneScape. I lag more than I am comfortable with for monsters that can kill me in a few hits, in spite of me being maxed. I am not a big fan of pvm but I do want to do it and it is a thing I just cannot do until I get a faster computer for playing. I do have a laptop but I can only use Microsoft apps on it. I want to get a new one eventually for RS and for casual use and I will have to research that it will allow me to use RuneScape on it. My goal after completionist is unlocking all locked content such as cool items and clothing you get in shops from skills and mini games and anything else I am missing. Then I am going for skilling for cash so I can buy items I have always wanted that I don't own. Stuff such as newer high level weapons or armor. Some of the stuff that cost over 1 bil. Anything below 1 bil 8 pretty much own. But I don't typically bounce around with several bil to spend for have the higher cost stuff.
Just a reminder to not get the cywir orb unless you are only using it for legacy as the accuracy does not matter and the damage is the same as the virtus book it will save you some gp
99 magic is prob not wroth it, you can do ed3 outside of DXP and you will get around 1m xp/hr. Also prayer on gilded altars are not affected by DXP so it is not worth doing prayer either
@@ChevalricRS I didn't know about this, thanks for telling me. Well In that case I might work on my summoning, even though I don't think I have enough charms to get me to level 99 unfortunately. Btw could you do a summoning guide please?I find the skill very confusing...
Always great to see helpful content to new players. Just if you go Serenic yes it's cheap just know it will decay. You can stop the chest and legs from decaying if you use invention to argument them.
@@ChevalricRS Yes but I already have melee gear and already leveled up my Attack Skill alot more than Ranged/Magic; and also learnt the entire Melee Progression Path so it'd take a while to swap to Magic/Ranged And Magic consumes Runes and that eventually gets somewhat expensive
I dont like the fact that the animated dead is the solution to just face tank a boss and I have a feeling jagex is going to nerf the fudge out of it or tank armor. Dont get me wrong it help me get my zuk cape but when you able to just sit thier and face tank (gwd2) you know something ain't right.
To new players: don't waste your time doing quests to level skills. The example in this video was crafting... just train mining to 34, get yourself a gem bag, and gather a whole bunch of gems. Cutting them will give you the fastest most consistent crafting xp. The gems will have their use later on too. You could make them into arrowheads, but I'd disassemble them for invention components. If you want to do quests, by all means do them. You'll need to do them at some point anyway. However it's not a consistent way to get xp.
@@prodeath_ I told you, get yourself to 34 mining. It shouldn't take that long. Then get yourself a gem bag, which is only 2000 dungeoneering points, also shouldn't take too long. Then go to a common gem rock, and mine them.
@@MHGFTW I agree with Chev. I maxed my account with around 100 quest points because I thought training was more efficient. Now that I'm going for completionist cape I really wish I did those quests back when the rewards meant something to me.
Tip on the clues. You will ALWAYS be able to complete an ELITE clue only. The game will never give you a step you haven't unlocked
Interesting, strange its only elites
Can verify. Was stuck on a master for a while. Finished it a few weeks ago finally, after Within the Light. Or The Light Within. I think the latter? 🤔
Wait, so it cancels clues u haven't unlocked? Or they are just like that?

Kind of need both if you have Gchain unless you got a 88 or 90 one so you can have a charoming switch

very true, but even without; you probably make enough money to replace it if you dont use it augmented. :) but yes forgot about that tbh
My goals this year are 120 dung, quest cape, and completing my first 10k elite clues
good luck on the elites! make sure to use every lamp, including pengs on dung :D

hidden, bc of the way i record

Spend like 200$ on bonds or rs3 money lol
