Wow,,!!! Fantastic .. I got goose bumps watching you set up the new house with your stashed away treasures .... we did the same thing bringing our belongings from the U,S. and having them stored away for 2 years .. such a great feeling to finally set them up and get on with the new life ! Best of luck to you guys !
yes Ben you are correct, it really doesn't matter what the size of the house is it just depends on what you want to run with electricity in the house per day
Our solar system just got powered on today! 10 panels for 5kW. Produces less because of the clouds here in Phitsanulok, Thailand. Still happy to have smaller electric bills.
Ben you did absolutely the right thing getting a professional to do it all. Imagine you bought all the stuff cheaper and got someone to fit it then something went wrong: Fitter: "I didn't provide it, not my problem." Seller: "I didn't fit it, not my problem." This way you only have one person to go to.
I see that two battery storage units are Felicity Solar. What size are they? I can see that you have a Controller/Inverter. What make and size is that? What are they other boxes on the wall other than the consumer unit? 12 panels in Thailand actually seems a lot and would have thought adequate to pump out the water during the day from the borehole as well.
The inverter is 8kw, each battery pack is 10kw (20kw total). The other units are for the generator as it’s hooked up to automatically turn itself on when the batteries drop to a specific number. I think we have it set to about 40%. So on those cloudy days etc, if the batteries charge drops to 40% then the generator kicks in. The generator powers just the batteries and the batteries power the house. Sorry if you know that already, somebody asked in an earlier comment what exactly in the house the generator powers - I’m not sure if the question was from yourself or another John 😆. Anyway I hope this helps, I always appreciate your comments 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Ben, you must be really pleased with the house, it really does look beautiful. The green insect is a prying mantis, gentle with us, but brutal with other insects when they are feeding. The turtles were terrapins, you can tell by the shape of their heads.
