They are powered by a KTI hyrdraulic unit and Interstate Deep Cycle Battery inside of a locking front toolbox. Your 7-way plug will trickle charge the battery when hooked up to the trailer. To fully charge the battery you will want to use the integrated 110v battery charger. Just plug an extension cord into the charger from outside the box to recharge the battery.
The electric gooseneck jacks are slower and around the price. I believe they take around a minute or so to raise the trailer.

Well, if the battery dies your not hitching that trailer. Otherwise, that's really cool.
Jumper cables would be an easy on site fix to a dead trailer battery.
