    Avani Lekhara and debutant Mona Agarwal launched India’s medal campaign at the Paris 2024 Paralympics on Friday with stellar performances in the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event.
    Avani Lekhara made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic gold medals.
    In her Paralympic debut, Mona Agarwal clinched the bronze medal with a score of 228.7 points.
    Manish Narwal added to India's medal haul by winning silver in the P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event with a score of 234.9. His medal brought India’s tally to four on Day 2 of the 2024 Para Games. The 22-year-old Narwal had previously won gold in the 50m pistol event at Tokyo 2020.
    On Thursday, Preethi Pal earned India’s first track event medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024, securing bronze in the women’s 100m T35 with a personal best time of 14.21s. She finished behind China’s Xia Zhou and Qianqian Guo.
