- Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca or Montaña de Siete Colores (Mountain of Seven Colours), is a stunning geological formation located in the Andes of Peru. Its distinctive colours, ranging from turquoise to lavender to maroon, are the result of various mineral deposits, including iron oxide, copper sulfate, and sulfur. The mountain sits at an altitude of over 5,000 meters (16,000 feet) above sea level, making it a challenging yet rewarding trekking destination for adventurous travellers. In recent years, Rainbow Mountain has become increasingly popular among tourists seeking its breathtaking natural beauty and unique geological features. However, its popularity has also raised concerns about environmental conservation and sustainable tourism practices in the region.

That is some height - slowly slowly is definitely the way to the top👣 A stunning mountain with those colours🌈I would have seriously considered the horse hire too😊
Yes even arriving in Cusco (where the nearest airport is) you are at 3000 metres above sea level, so you have to acclimatise for a few days before doing this. It's the highest altitude I've been at
